Yep - still in one piece. 35 weeks now. Hoping to pop before 38 so can avoid induction/ section scenario but not too soon - don't want to miss Strictly final [saddo emoticon].

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 20:07

TB, have you got a text buddy? we would love to know when u go into labour!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2008 20:14

Norty, have posted on your food thread

DD goes through phases. one week she loves mash, next week you'd think we were trying to poison her

sputnik, DS1 is a bit like that with food as well. Whatever we give him gets eaten item by item.....I think things like spag bol and chilli annoy him as he can't separate it out....strange child. He isn;t eating well at all at the minute and we are trying to not make a deal of it, but it's hard when he has to be cajoled into eating breakfast, comes home with half his packed lunch untouched and then won't eat tea. Growing boys need to eat.

hey natty...have you forgotten our scrabble game?

was that fury I saw earlier?

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 11/12/2008 20:14

Oooooh, are they going to be Christmas babies? Carol and Mary? Joseph and Rudolph?

My borther was due on Christmas Day and would have been called Carol Mary if he had been a girl. As it is his name is nothing seasonal at all, but DH wonders why he isn't called Rudolph!

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 11/12/2008 20:19

My work connection hasn't worked again tonight Getting to be a right pain. I had some work I could do wihtout the connection, but that's done now and I am 1 hour short of my week's hours. SO if it doesn't work tomorrow I'll be working longer next week

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 20:20

oh my gosh daisy i totally forgot...
take it its my turn then

Ohforfoxsake · 11/12/2008 20:28

Mince pie anyone? Mulled wine?

its officially christmas here

oh, and I fucked up my Secret Santa >>

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 20:29

oh no foxy what did u do?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2008 20:39

jammy surely if the connection has gone down, it's not your fault. If the server goes in the office I'm sure they don't all stay on for an extra hour to get things done .

obviously if you're the only one doing the work though, then you need to do it another time. arses for you.

Cheers foxy . Tis not officially Christmas here until the weekend.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 20:44

same here daisy, cant put decs or tree up till we have moved

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/12/2008 20:44

Norty. Maybe not Rudolph.

Ohforfoxsake · 11/12/2008 20:47

Its not a disaster, just that anything I am capable of making is edible, and needs to be kept cold (fudge and truffles were top of my list). I couldn't do anything crafty (except memorise DPs card number ).

But if I say anymore it will give it away that it is me.

but then so will having it sent directly to the recipient and not realising until afterwards [thicko emoticon]

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 11/12/2008 20:47

I know what you mean about the server thing, but I am very conscious that me working at home is very much a trust thing and I don't want to abuse that. Or have anyone accusing me of trying to swing it IYSWIM.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 11/12/2008 20:50

Um Foxy, I thought we were meant to send directly to the recipient themselves. I don't see any other way other to do it. Or am I just thick and missing the point?

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 20:55

i will be sending mine late, but i have decided on what to make, (yes im gonna MAKE something.. be afraid!)
will be sending it possibly next weekend if not during the week, does anyone know the last datefor send parcels?

i suppose i could do it this week..

Ohforfoxsake · 11/12/2008 21:03

I mean I sent it to the recipient directly from the company, so not via me, as I was having a wee panic about whether or not I'd get it done. So I thought, cut out the middle man (me) and it will be nicely wrapped and arrived in good time. With my name on the delivery note. Doh!

Ohforfoxsake · 11/12/2008 21:06

Anyway, it might seem impersonal, but I did give it a lot of thought and I think she'll like it

This isn't getting the groceries bought for next week is it? Off to Tescos for me. (online, obviously)

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 21:09

ooooh foxy i get it now

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 11/12/2008 22:19

So Daisy....how did DH get on?

35 weeks Tallulah ....I'm uncomfortable at 32 so I can only imagine how you must be feeling. at Strictly final

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 22:36

gosh its quiet tonight.. im waiting for DH to come home, cant sleep till he does

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 11/12/2008 23:11

norty, he was just at his old office handing back all his bits and pieces and then clearing out of his weektime accommodation.

He starts the new job on Monday.....and will be in the office for a couple of days and then in store for a week. All the big retailers have head office staff in helping out in store in the run up to Christmas....so he'll be stacking shelves or collecting trolleys for a week .

reet......he has kicked off again after a lovely half hour of being alert and smiley and chatty. It took two hours to settle him last night until he did a mammoth poo and then keeled over.....no poo yet today though

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 11/12/2008 23:52

hubby still not home.. im hungry. hmm i wonder if a micro curry would be ok at this time of night?

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 12/12/2008 08:21

Morning all. I didn't make my SS either - sorry! I am into making at the moment, but nothing I'd give to anyone who wasn't family, like the bloody scarf I made my dad!

Foxy, tell me more about this fudge. I am planning on making fudge for Christmas but need an ideal recipe, and it sounds a lot hard than I thought. Plus I'm not sure how far in advance to make it.

eurgh! garlic white wine vinegar fudge? That old traditional recipe

Bumper, its Nigella's pistachio fudge. Its not strictly fudge I don't think and requires chilling or freezing for it to work it seems. Not made it yet. Let me know if you want the recipe. Basically its chocolate and condensed milk IIRC.
