sorry, that sounded really churlish . DH has been a superstar over the last two months and I don't know what state I might have been in without his help and support, so I don't grudge him some well earned time off, I just meant that with BFing, I can't have time off.

FrazzledFairyFay · 10/12/2008 11:00

I hope Jammy isn't having too awful a time. And boo hiss to Daisy's DH. I hope you get some time off in return

Natty, you'd be welcome to my maternity clothes too but I fear that they'd swamp you

FrazzledFairyFay · 10/12/2008 11:04

It doesn't sound churlish, we all need time off

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 11:34

I'm hoping to nip out this evening for a spot of shopping......if I can express enough milk during the day for a decent feed for the lad.

Although I know that trying things on will make me depressed. Might just make do with what I have for Christmas; it's not as though we're going anywhere special.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 11:37

gawd I sound a right miserable old cow today!

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 10/12/2008 11:45

know the feeling Daisy....I feel miserable today. I feel I never get a day off sometimes...I'm always first up as well which gets right up my nose at the weekends....even if it is only by a few minutes...hope you get out shopping tonight...treat yourself to a new handbag...xmas present to yourself

The only good thing about being pregnant today is that I can let it all hang out and blame it on the baby and wear big knickers with pride

I think I'm gonna keep my big knickers and over the bump trousers to wear afterwards.....and dump everything else....its all knackered.

Fairy....fancy doing it again???

Jammy, you're very brave. I hate the dentist with a passion and would never have that sort of work done on my teeth.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 11:48

norty. I'm still wearing my over bump jeans ...but with a belt as they fall down otherwise. It's more comfy than being cut in half by waistbands.

new handbag..............beetles off to Clark's website

FrazzledFairyFay · 10/12/2008 11:49

No, I don't want another baby but yet I'm reluctant to get rid of my maternity clothes - bizarre really as I've got rid of all the baby equipment. I think I'll have to bite the bullet and stick them in a bundle on ebay, as none of my friends will want them as they're size 18/20 and none of them are that big

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 10/12/2008 11:55

My better things I'll sell on e-bay.....its where most of my mat gear came from - I'm a 20/22 so it was difficult finding stuff that fitted other than from e-bay.

When I'm not at work, I live in one pair of over the bump jeans bought 2nd hand off e-bay that get washed and dried in the evening ready for the next day....just couldn't see the point of buying any more stuff.

I'm definately not doing this again. DH can stay well away .

Ooops, I should be working ....

FrazzledFairyFay · 10/12/2008 11:59

Oh no, I didn't realise we were a similar size Norty,I could have sent you my stuff ages ago . I don't suppose you need anything now though, as you haven't long to go? If you do need anything to keep you going then please let me know, I'd be happy to send you anything.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 12:07

Help me decide......

This One

or

This One

I love the colour of the first one, but it has short straps so can't hang on the buggy. The second one has adjustable straps. I have a bag with simialr straps and think it's great. I also like the casualness of the first one, but it's more expensive and not sure about the suede, although they do it in black leather as well.

I could spend a fortune there on handbags

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 10/12/2008 12:52

I'm back with the numbness fading away fast and the pain fading in slowly. Think I'll go take some ibuprofen quickly! It wasn't too bad actually, just long. I took my mp3 player loaded up with Roger McGough poetry to keep me occupied and it did the trick. But while we were waiting for xrays to be processed she started asking me all about jamlet - and I had to try to hold a conversation with her with my half my mouth totally numb, my mouth wide open, a clamp round my tooth and a rubber sheet clamped over my mouth!

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 10/12/2008 12:52

Second one!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 13:10

Thanks Jammy....any more opinions?

I always lol that dentists can actually understand what their patients are saying with a novocaine numbed gob full of implements. Do you think they get tested on it at Uni?

Sputnik · 10/12/2008 13:24

Oooh, style challenge alert!
Number 2, hands down

I'm always a bit at dentists who try and engage you in conversation. I think it's their sadistic streak.

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 10/12/2008 14:04

Ooohhh I like both, but as I mostly carry a changing bag haning off my buggy, I'd go for number 1 to go over my should - all I carry for myself is purse, cards, keys and phone....all the other crap is in the changing bag, so need one small handbag and a changing bag.

On working days I have one large handbag...

That means I'd have to have both

The thought of a clamp round my tooth makes me gag.

Fairy - don't worry! We're not similar sizes....I would not fit an 18 and am about 2 foot shorter than you IIRC . If I was 6 foot tall, I'd be slim with big boobs

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 10/12/2008 14:06

when I was 13 I wanted to be a dentist ....then I discovered I was crap at physics.....OMG the very thought ....I can't even get myself there without a panic attack these days.

Right work beckons!

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 10/12/2008 14:15

Doesn't the brain do weird things? I just read Norty's last message as "I can't even get myself there without a pigeon attack". WTF? I even read it three times to make sure it really did say pigeon. And yes it did (in my brain at least!)

I think the (unintentionally) sadistic bit was when then dentist was out of the room getting the xrays processed, the assistant was helpfully telling me how with root canal work the dentist can't actually see into the canal so it's a case of feeling it, so there is always room for an error in judgement NOT what I want to hear while we wait for the xrays to confirm that it's gone OK.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 18:22

You need physics to study dentistry? Can't see why Newton's Laws of Motion are relevant to filling teeth...unless it's to do with the up and down feature of the chair

See, I like bag No 2 as well, but as the P&T has a one piece handlebar it wouldn't loop over and carrying a bag tucked under your armpit is very difficult when pushing a buggy. And with Bumba lying flat, it's a PITA to get to the shopping basket.

Butterfly.......are you a member of ravelry? It's a forum (well more than a forum really) for knitters and crocheters. A friend told me about it so I requested an invitation and have been drooling over all the lovely things I now want to knit.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 10/12/2008 18:53

I joined ravelry, though I haven't actually logged on yet so they might have revoked my membership

Just attempted to make Xmas cards with DD. I big green hand print to represent a Christmas tree. She was actually very impressed though as I had to keep a vice like grip on her. The sooner she gets to nursery to do this fun stuff the better really.

End of my working week thank goodness. Such a busy few weeks coming up. It's nice though, I don't usually have any social life. But I will need my Xmas break. It'll be great this year as me and DH both have nearly 2 weeks off what with working PT. In his last job he got Xmas day off and that was it.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 10/12/2008 19:02

this will be a lovely proper Christmas for you as a family then bumper. I hope you have a nice time.

I think I may have to abandon MN for ravelry....I have been oogling patterns thinking "oooh, I can do that...and that...and that". I have a stash of yarn to use up as well as lots of UFOs. Will need to wait until after Christmas though what with crafting to do and Christmas cards and pressies to send.

HaveYourselfAJammyLittleXmas · 10/12/2008 19:06

ravelry?

Fill me in someone so I have something to look forward to when I finish work tonight.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 10/12/2008 19:18

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 10/12/2008 19:19

So Natty, is your house confirmed?

FrazzledFairyFay · 10/12/2008 19:23

Daisy, you can't abandon us for knitting! We'd be very offended
