Well I have made 50 Xmas cards I think we will probably need more, but my glue has run out. And I've had enough for now.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 01/12/2008 21:14

thought id better post this while i remember.. if there IS a set day for ss posting i will miss it cos im not gonna be online from the 9th, i have no idea when i iwill get the internet back either, so u will have to make do without me over christmas (hard i know but im sure you all can get thru it )

oh and like my name? im only gonna get a weeks use out of it so thought i might as well

i might ring virgin tomorrow see what they say about installing it in the new address, but i got a feeling there will be no installation dates over xmas.

ah such is life, i will have to sneak off and leave DH with kids and pop to an internet cafe lol

LeakyDAISYcal · 01/12/2008 21:20

I'm impressed at your creativity Jammy. I can't even bring myself to write the damn things never mind making them (although we make an exception for Daddy and the GPs). I'll enlist DH's help this year as we are going to combine them with a birth announcement.

Natty, does you SS know where to send your pressie to if you are moving?

I'll be sending mine whenever it's finished, which will be the 12th of Never at this rate

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/12/2008 21:28

Well, it's not exactly a hard design. Triangle of green paper with a gold or silver star stuck on top and you have a rudimentary Christmas tree. (Only some of them are blue trees because I was feeling arty.) I try to make all my own gift cards, and while I will spend more time on birthday cards etc I have a rule at Christmas that it has to be no more than 1.5 minutes per card to make. Last year though I bought Christmas casrds, because although I had made home made thank you cards to take into the delivering MW, the ward staff and the SCBU staff after Jamlet was born - which I think was fairly impressive just 5 days after she was born - I just wasn't up to mass producing cards for Christmas.

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 01/12/2008 21:31

lol daisy ive not even bought mine all my money is tied up till next week with this move lol

good point tho.. whoever has me needs my new address.. i will email the organiser.

LeakyDAISYcal · 01/12/2008 21:32

I have grand designs to do arty stuff and have a box full of bits and card blanks etc, but it never gets off the ground. Maybe next year

The baby card you sent us was lovely. It is nice to have something personal

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 01/12/2008 21:36

i agree daisy and i am very of your talents.. i might make one to make up for lack of crafty ss pressie.. im buying lol.. im being lazy (DH is saying sensible bless him) cos we got alot on atm

LeakyDAISYcal · 01/12/2008 21:37

boobs out then bed for me.

Will not be on till evening tonmorrow.....busy day ahead

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 01/12/2008 21:37

that should have said talents jammy

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/12/2008 21:43

Glad you liked the card Daisy. I thought you had a level enough head to not take offence at some of the words being the less positive things about new babes. I thought you would see that as just being a bit tongue in cheek. And I think you'll agree the positives outweigh the negatives

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/12/2008 11:28

Hello everyone, where are you all today?

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 02/12/2008 12:10

hey fairy.. im here

LittleMissNorty · 02/12/2008 12:18

I'm at work

(not lurking on MN )

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 02/12/2008 12:27

LOL!
yeah im not either im watching my kids lol

LeakyDAISYcal · 02/12/2008 13:49

I'm not here either; I'm putting a weeks worth of laundry away

HV came this morning. In spite of latching issues and the thrush and DSs poorly mouth, the little bloater has gained over a pound a week and is now 11 lbs (5.02kgs) and is on the 75th centile....the not so little bloater.

I've got a prescription for more fluconazole tablets and the doc said it's OK to use the daktarin oral gel inspite of the fact it's been relicensed for 3months plus only.....good job that, as we have been using it for the last few days to clear up Bumba's mouth

Right, back later......the laundry isn't going to fold itself and jump in the drawers is it?

TALLULAHBELLE · 02/12/2008 17:08

Hi all. Just back from hosp appt. DT2 still breech, doesn't look like that will change now. Consultant has agreed to abandon idea of elective C sect & I can go for nat. delivery see what happens. However wants to book me in for induction @ 38 weeks. So now have to decide if accept that as price to pay for avoiding section or go into battle for a spontaneous labour. I really am very tired just thinking about it all.

LeakyDAISYcal · 02/12/2008 17:12

T, chances are that you will go into spontaneous labour before 38 weeks anyway. Aren't most twin pregnancies around 36-38 weeks gestation?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/12/2008 17:47

And I predict (not having any experience to go by ) that by 38 weeks you'll be so fed up you'll be glad to be induced if it means geting 'em out.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/12/2008 17:51

Does anyone remember (or still have) the blue gum massager finger thing from bonjela, that came in one of the free packs of stuff you get? Jamlet has taken to holding the case for it when she goes to sleep

TALLULAHBELLE · 02/12/2008 17:56

Yep that's what I'm hoping for Daisy. But DD was 8 days overdue & arrived on her induction date so am wondering if that means I'm more likely to go past the 36- 38 week slot if left to own devices.

Had a chuckle about about your DD & her poppers. Glad it's not just mine then. She can undo zips too & regularly escapes from her sleeping bag if not in the mood for a nap.

Are you thinking about potty training so soon? My DM & DF are always saying I should be getting DD trained before DT's arrive but I think she's still too little. Have got a potty though, she knows what it is & what it's for but not interested in using it.

LeakyDAISYcal · 02/12/2008 18:18

she is showing signs of being aware of her nappy and tells us when sshe has done a poo or if it is really wet. She also has a certain posture when she is doing a poo, so I'm just trying t encourage her to want the potty, which she sits on, but doesn't really know what it's for yet. I'm wondering how to get that across to her without demonstrating it myself

sorry jammy, can't help, but bless her it's funny the things they get fixated on isn't it?

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 02/12/2008 18:31

ellen is showing signs, but im reluctant to do it as tom is refusing to train, and i dont want to make him feel worse about it than he already does.
does that sound silly? it does when i say it outloud lol!

i'm gonna try tom again after christmas, as i tried about 2 months ago and he was dry for 2 days, would NOT do a poo in the potty or the toilet and would keep it in till a nappy was put on him at night. so frustrating.

anyway we continued on the third day and he was wetting himself every 10 mins, refusing to even sit on the potty, and turning it into a battle. so we gave up, i didnt want to push it.

im thinking mid jan when everything settles down after christmas and if it fails again i will leave it till after the baby comes, as babies can make siblings regress(sp?) well thats what they say anyway.
so im thinking maybe joint training for both of them in the summer? out in the back garden with nothing on and a potty out there..

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/12/2008 18:56

Sorry, I waited around a bit and then had to go again.

IMHO you are all bonkers to even think about potty training until they are approaching 3

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 02/12/2008 18:58

lol fairy thomas will be coming up to three, and will be well over three in the summer.. so hopefully more luck?

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/12/2008 19:03

Summer is a good time Natty, less messy! I'm so pleased that you have found a new house - is it frantic packing and boxes everywhere in your house?
