I've just put her into the 18-36 month grobags, and want these to be the last ones we get. But also don't want move from cot-bed to coincide with change from grobags to sheets/duvet.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 20:29

I changed DD to just pyjamams with a pillow and quilt a few months before I moved her into her bed - but she was only in gro-bags until about 15 months and then went into fleecy sleepsuits, as she hated teh gro-bag. DS was the same and has been in a fleece sleepsuit for a few months already. He has a quilt in bed with him, and I put it over him when he goes to bed - but he doesn't really seem to use it.

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 27/11/2008 20:32

i put ellen in her bed recently, she kept getting into toms bed and saying she wanted to sleep there.. so took the side of her cot and we use it as a bed now
my plan is to get thomas a big single bed when we move then put ellen in his toddler bed. (idea is to have the cot for the baby)

we had a poo incident this afternoon, one of the many things i hate about disposable nappys, she takes them off!! she then pooed on the carpet.. nice!

oh and the washing machine dont spin... ANOTHER faulty item from argos, i NEVER order from there anymore bloody landlord!!
never mind 2 weeks and hopefully we will be outta here!!!

LittleMissNorty · 27/11/2008 20:46

I've got two cots in this house...one for each

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/11/2008 20:52

ok i'm off to watch tv with DH

Sputnik · 27/11/2008 21:02

Natty I got a new washing machine recently too. It wouldn't spin either then we found there was a bit of polystyrene packing left underneath so it wasn't level. Maybe it's worth taking a look just in case.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 21:05

That's exactly what we did Norty - couldn't face DD being able to get out of bed, so we bought a second cot

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 27/11/2008 21:09

ah sputnik will have a look see tomorrow when DH is here (i am not allowed to lift anything DH would kill me)

it spun once, and hasnt again.. am a little baffled..

LittleMissNorty · 27/11/2008 21:48

polysteryene is put in all sort of places in new washing machines....I've also done the same thing.

Fairy....same as us....can't face getting up keep putting her back to bed all the time, and she moves about SO much in her cot, and is also still in a gro bag, so bought a 2nd hand cot for her (and she'll use her existing mattress) and current cot will be used for new LO with new mattress. I've also bought a cot quilt and pillow for her to get used to. Haven't tried the quilt yet, but she just ignored the pillow and laid down on her scrunched up blanket as usual . when we done her new room, we bought a full size single bed for her (and all the bedding!)and just shoved the cot in there as well - and my mum sleeps in the bed, as we've only got 3 bedrooms!

hello

your evening sounds lovely jammy. it is our village xmas market on Saturday, but it is in the morning/early afternoon. There is one in town in a couple of weeks though that is at night, with a barrel organ and everything.

I am having an evening of self-doubt. I know my DM doesn't mean to make me feel like a crap parent, but sometimes... she offered to help with my laundry because DS1 was filthy (again, she made comments on the state of him last night too, and everything was clean today), then she cut his finger nails. And we did some homework at theirs tonight. I do not have the patience. He can barely write and I just get cross because he seems like he isn't trying/isn't bothered. I'm fairly sure she wasn't getting at me, but I feel

and DS2 wee-ed on the landing and his school reading bag.

ARSE!

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 27/11/2008 22:08

aww ria tough day then?
i know what u mean about mothers. my mum told me today she was buying me a parenting manual for xmas.. how do i take that?

Ohforfoxsake · 28/11/2008 10:06

tell her you learnt everything you know about parenting from her!

Ohforfoxsake · 28/11/2008 10:08

IIRC Natty, Sputnik had a similar problem with her new WM. Didn't it turn out some packaging was left on? Apologies to Sputnik if INRC (I'm NOT recalling correctly!)

Ohforfoxsake · 28/11/2008 10:17

Ah, now I have read and caught up properly I see I'm covering old ground here sorry!

Ria - If your kids are pristine, how much fun are they having? Your mum is very welcome round here to help me. I wish my mum took a tiny bit of notice of her grandchildren. don't let her help manifest into self-doubt. Your children are just lovely, happy angels from what I've seen on FB.

ho hum..

LeakyDAISYcal · 28/11/2008 14:21

afternoon.

sleep breakthrough in the daisy household . DS2 went from 10.30 until 3am last night....so I got a block of four hours sleep!!! He fed for half an hour and then slept again until about 6.30. I feel like a new woman today. He has slept all day as well barring a couple of hours this morning and for a quick feed at lunchtime. he cluster fed hugely yesterday so my boobs are like bricks again today.

I have just discovered that one of the women on my Nov thread is married to a bloke I used to work with in a pub in Edinburgh when I was a student! Their surname is pretty unusual, and she was trying to identify her DH to another of our thread buddies whose DH knows her DH as well and she posted his initials and those of his brother. Well they rung a bell so I had a squint at her FB photos and was OMG! How freakishly small is this world???

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/11/2008 15:18

Yay! Sputmik gets a mention in the talk roundup!!

Sputnik · 28/11/2008 15:30

Oh what, again!
I owe it all to my MIL

Sputnik · 28/11/2008 15:37

Actually I'm quite looking forward to seeing what she comes up with this year.

LittleMissNorty · 28/11/2008 15:43

Hello all

Skived off work early as I'm taking DD to doctors....think she's got a bit of eczema, but I can't control it. Every day, I spot another little bit somewhere else.....rung GP ready for battle and the woman, nice as pie said, "oh, we've just had a cancellation at 4.40 - is that ok?".....what could I say?

So here I am, thought I'd get in an hours housework in a peaceful house, and I'm catching up on MN and FB.

Think its about time some of you put up some recent pics of your LOs .......they are all growing up so quick!

Blimey Sputnik....fishnets

LittleMissNorty · 28/11/2008 15:44

Is your MIL Italian Sputnik?

educatingRia · 28/11/2008 17:07

hello.

Is this the latest I've ever done my first post of the day???

Went to town this morning, did a little christmas shopping, bought shoes for the boys (got DS2 toezone ones half price in Woollies - I drew the size of his foot on a piece of paper so I could check the size) and I finally spent my last years christmas vouchers from my Mum and bought myself some lovely boots from Matalan.

DH treated us to lunch at Morrisons (living the high life here) and then I spent a fortune there, including almost £5 on one of those "s" shaped pens for handwriting.

And...

DH might have some exciting news on Monday. I can't decide if I've said too much so I'll tempt fate, or if giving more info would tempt fate. I'll probably tell you later when I open the wine
