Well so far today jamlet is being delightful She had an hours nap this morning which made all the difference. I've just put her down after lunch, think it'll be good if she can get a bit more rest if we're going out later, but if she doesn't settle we'll go out to play. And in between she's played nicely, especially with her new desk and chair. Well, not really new, as DH had them when he was a toddler! Even her repeatedly emptying all the (plastic!) plates and bowls from "her" kitchen cupboard wasn't a pain because she was so HAPPY doing it!

Natty, glad you've got a washer again Hope it makes things a bit less stressful for you. Our microwave has just gone wrong. It sometimes keeps going well past the set time - turned a little piece of salmon meant for jamlet's tea into something that resembled pork crackling yesterday! And sometimes it doesn't cook at all, just puts the fan on - we had cold baked beans the other week as I didn't realise until we'd served up and sat down to eat and then couldn't be bothered to scrape them off the plate and reheat them. Thankfully not something we absolutely need everyday though.

aw microwave is a pain, u can get a super cheap one in woolies tho.. argos have a good one too xx

LittleMissNorty · 27/11/2008 12:49

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 27/11/2008 13:00

NattyTantrumAndEarAche · 27/11/2008 13:02

SHUTTING

Ohforfoxsake · 27/11/2008 14:08

ROFL Natty.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/11/2008 15:18

DH heard big closing down sale in Woolies tomorrow

LeakyDAISYcal · 27/11/2008 16:27

ooooh, we are off into town tomorrow; will have a look in woolies. I'm trying to convince DH we need to see if we can grab a kitchen bargain from MFI; he is less than enthusiatic about that.

saw the HV at the baby cafe this afternoon to confirm that DH and I aren't going mad, and that Fin seems to be cutting his forst tooth . We noticed it a couple of days ago and you can now feel it under the gum as well as see it. It looks like it's about to break through the gum already, but HV said it might stay like that for ages. It might explain some of his recent misery!

educatingRia · 27/11/2008 16:29

oo hope woolies still open here tomorrow.

I am a little miffed. We were off to visit PILS at weekend but apparently they are on holiday (never bother to tell us of course). I suppose at least we found out before the journey. And it gives me time to sort the gifts for there so we only have one trip to fit in before christmas.

DS2 brought home his Jospeh costume today (to be washed and ironed). He looks cute!

Following Tbelles post yesterday I rang DS1s head of year yesterday! She has had a word with DS1 about the person in question and apparently already has the girls mother going in next week. Plus the HoY is satisfied that paint thing was an accident, so am quite relieved that I rang. I don't want to be a pain, but don't want DS1 in a pickle for the next 6 years.

am a bit about my microwave too jammy.

found this on our local newspaper website -

"Woolworths announced this morning that the 99-year-old firm has gone into administration as a result of cash flow problems.

Administrators have said they hope to keep all stores open beyond Christmas, and that employees will be paid."

No mention of massive sales Not that they seemed to have much when I was there the other day anyway.

Hi everyone. My day was summed up just nw - I went to the cupboard to get a glass for some fizzy water. Only when I was drinking it, did I realise I'd poured it in a wine glass, rather than a tumbler - any guesses what I'm longing for .....?

I've heard that Wollies have guaranteed their staff's wages until tomorrow, but not beyond at the moment. They also said that the administrators were hoping to keep stores open.

LittleMissNorty · 27/11/2008 17:11

are you longing for DCs bedtime as well Fairy?

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 17:19

Oh yes Norty, tick tock, tick tock.....

BTW, I did mean to say, don't panic about how you'll cope with 2 little ones. I think you're going to have about the same gap as me - 20 months? I won't lie, it has been hard at times, but honestlt it is not as hard as I had feared. In some ways having 2 is easier than one as you don't have to entertain your child the whole time as they entertain each other. And just think how close they'll be as they grow up.

LittleMissNorty · 27/11/2008 17:29

Oh that's good to hear Fairy . I didn't realise you only had 20 months between yours as well....reality is beginning to sink in a little bit here .

Roll on 7pm and enjoy the glass of wine...have one for me

LeakyDAISYcal · 27/11/2008 18:09

Norty....don't worry about coping with two so close together. DD, after her initial nonsense, is now being lovely with the baby, and wants to kiss him and cuddle him, and help with nappy changes and feeding. She was trying to undo my bra earlier saying "bumbo (her name for him) milk" and got a wipe out of the packet and was helping me wipe poo.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 18:25

We have a photographer coming to the house tomorrow ready for the house to go on the market on Monday. In that minute or so when i let him run about naked after his bath, while i get a nappy, DS chose tonight to do his first ever wee and poo mid-run, on the landing . I give up

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 18:27

My DD was exactly like Daisy's. I was worried about how she'd react to sharing me and Dh. She was distictly unimpressed for a couple of weeks, and kept poking DS (and the occasional wallop over the head), but that soon passed and she wanted to do everything and pat, stroke and kiss him at every opportunity. It didn't seem to do him much harm.

LeakyDAISYcal · 27/11/2008 18:29

Oh, fairy, poor you with yet more poo to clean up

you'll look back on all this and laugh I'm sure, but it must be so frustrating for you.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 18:55

I do feel like I'm living in the land of poo some days. Although DD has now had two accident free days. The re-introduction of a smartie for a wee and a jelly sweet for a poo seems to have worked, at least for now anyway. Tomorrow is another day.........

Thankfully, DS's poos were quite pellety so just a case of picking them up rather than cleaning, really.

Am off to refill that wine glass, with a nice cold Rose this time though

LeakyDAISYcal · 27/11/2008 19:09

DD is in her big girl bed tonight. She slept in it last night as well....and fell out of it with a thump at 6.15 this morning

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/11/2008 20:13

I can't get remote access to my work server tonight so i can't do my work. Sounds good but it just means I have to do it on Friday night instead

Street fair was nice. We had a walk round and saw the Bond car and watched the carousel and big wheel etc. And got some chips on the way home. Jamlet fell asleep with a chip clasped in her hand

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 20:14

Ah bless Jamlet.

What a big girl BabyBoo is now!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/11/2008 20:15

So what age do LOs move from cots to beds typically?

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/11/2008 20:17

My DD was well over 2 before I put her in a bed.
