It seems to be taking a long time to reach 1000. Maybe I need to start posting from my phone again so that each one is posted 7 times

hahahahahaha!

It works if you just press post lots too

Won't annoy you any further though

BouncingTurtle · 15/03/2009 13:35

Thanks Clairey - I think the little girl in the ad is very cute - but it delays the page loading so is very annoying!

BouncingTurtle · 15/03/2009 13:37

Doing more studying... God nows how I'm going to be able to do this during the week!
Going to be a long couple of weeks...

insywinsyspider · 16/03/2009 11:50

morning all!

how are you feeling today bt?

arcadie - also love scrapbooking, dh thinks I'm really sad but have lovely wedding scrapbook and starting on one for each of boys at mo, got a couple of sewing projects to finish first, I think I was born middle aged

come on then give me your suggestions for great 1st bday pressie for my godson? would like it to be something either really cool and different or something he could keep, one gift I loved from my friend (ds1's godmother) where some lovely bookends and book vouchers....

BouncingTurtle · 16/03/2009 12:40

Still snotty, Insy, but feeling better!

DS was given a Mr Men book for his birthday which he loves, so how about a few of them to start him off? He also has this which I was a bit at a first, but DS was utterly delighted with. It's a bit different! Though if you are a bit OCD like me, you have to make sure that all the little egg faces are facing forwards and you match all the shells up

claraquack · 16/03/2009 13:03

Just popping in to keep the count up, help get to 1,000 and all that.

Sorry Insy, I have no inspiration at all for gifts. Something like a special blanket or towel with his name on?

I am class supporting an NCT group at the moment and one of the ladies gave birth last week to an 11-pounder.

Ow!

She did end up having to have a section though. I gather there were a few problems but luckily it sounds like the baby is ok now.

claraquack · 16/03/2009 13:04

By the way someone on here mentioned the MMR and reactions to it the other day. Dd2 had hers about 10 days ago, and last night was in a terrible state, screaming and rolling around, didn't want to be held but didn't want to be left. Took me ages to calm her down. I suspect she's probably got her last molars coming through but wonder if it could be the MMR?

Arcadie · 16/03/2009 13:05

Beckle is that your little one getting her groove on in the Facebook video? Genius!

Insy DS's godparents over the years have got him a Bible, a book, an Oxfam voucher, a jigsaw book, a book called "Pants" and a CD set of nursery rhymes, silly childrens' songs and Bible story songs. Not sure how much God you want in your Godparenting though.

insywinsyspider · 16/03/2009 13:39

arcadie - we've got godson a lift flap book of most popular bible stories as part of christening pressie and book with cd of xmas songs/hymns (kiddie one) as part of xmas pressie (his mum/my friend is v musical) and thinking of getting small religious type pressie each year on his christening date so just looking for something a little different for his birthday...
bt I got those eggs from as new for ds1 for his first easter, he still loves them and ds2 is always trying to rob them off him

clara ow indeed! could be MMR, ds suffered with his on and off for a couple of weeks, really lingy grumpy, might even be combined with teeth, did dosing her up help? we've just had a week of 4 molars pushing thro and ds was inconsolable

Doctorskidaddle · 16/03/2009 17:55

HI everyone,

Cazzy - how did the yoga go? I am also thinking of starting a yoga/pilates class - my jelly belly is a disgrace

clara - Milo was just as you describe exactly 10 days after his MMR (as predicted by the gp) so it may well be due to that. Not v. consoling but he was in a bad way for 4 WEEKS after his. Hope Martha weathers it a bit better

Louise - so glad you have got some help for your PND/PTSD. It doesn't matter whether others would find the story of your birth traumatic or not - it was traumatic for you and that is the end of it. Hope you get the help and support you need (also feeling quite pleased with myself for virtually diagnosing PTSD from your description!)

BT - I also have to line up toys/put stickers in correct place etc with my DCs' toys so you are not alone in your OCD tendencies!

arcadie and insy - lol at your 'scrapbooking' - I am obviously so un-middle-aged and down with the kids that I didn't even know that scrapbook could be a verb!

claireybeemine · 16/03/2009 19:25

God you lot are all so healthy, what is this exercise of which you all speak?!

Clara ds had his mmr a week ago, alongside his final boosters. All of last week he had a bright red swollen leg and a slight temperature from the men c booster (he did cut a tooth too so the temp may have been that) and today he has been flinging himself on the ground screaming all day. Not sure if it is the vaccination or not, they say 7-10 days then 28 days afterwards, dd got a rash 7 days after hers.

BT I'm the same with toys, drives me mad when the duplo ends up in the play kitchen, the spacemen are in the tractor etc. I really like the look of Playmobil stuff but don't dare get any as I don't trust myself not to set it all up then completely freak out when the kids try to actually play with it.

cazzybabs · 16/03/2009 19:30

skid...yoga doesn't start till end of april...

claraquack · 16/03/2009 20:43

I would love to do pilates again, I used to do it pre-kids. But it costs a fortune round here - like about £10 a class. I do have a dvd but of course never get round to putting it on....

Thanks for all the info about MMR (and at 4 weeks DrSkid). I am sure it's teething too, I suspect double whammy. Actually probably triple whammy as she also has a cold. No wonder she's unsettled poor mite.

Clairey/Skid and BT - please can you come round and sort out our toys? They are CONSTANTLY in the wrong place, all the jigsaw puzzles mixed up etc. I can't be faffed to sort them out but know I really need to....

BouncingTurtle · 17/03/2009 07:48

I've got a couple of parts of toys missing, and it's doing my head in! Going to get a little storage unit sort I can organise DS's toys a bit better - we dug out this very junior train set that belonged to DSS but I haven't got anywhere to store it apart from in bits under the travel cot!

claireybeemine · 17/03/2009 14:49

Clara I would probably quite enjoy that , but you'd have to keep the children occupied while I did it, it drives me mad when I'm trying to sort things and they play with them. What do they think toys are for ffs?!

BT my mum bought us a trofast from ikea (the one that goes up in steps) and I am thrilled with it! My toys are sooooo organised now with each type in it's own compartment, dd is pretty good at putting things back in the right drawer too. I also got one of those frames with little baskets on type things from lidl and thats where all the bits of crap that would otherwise be littering the house go!

Funnily enough I'm not nearly that organised in any other area of my life

claireybeemine · 17/03/2009 16:07

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYY!

If you are lurking please post to let us know how things are

claireybeemine · 17/03/2009 16:09

And anyone else for that matter! Saw wobbegong on a different thread the other day, am terrible though and never remember who is missing until I see their name somewhere else.

Arcadie · 17/03/2009 18:31

BT Agree with Claireybeemine about the trofast. It's a thing of beauty AND ooooooh.. this bit makes me uber happy. If you buy a few more tubs than actually fit in the stand you can do toy rotation!!!!

claireybeemine · 18/03/2009 11:08

aargh, really need to change from valentines name!

claireybee · 18/03/2009 11:09

About bloody time!

claraquack · 18/03/2009 11:16

Yes we've got trofast too www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S49819508 except our storage containers are coloured. It's a great way to stuff all the toys out of the way at the end of the day....

claraquack · 18/03/2009 11:18

Clairey - have you deliberately chosen bee as a nice spring-time name? I chose mine as I thought ducks were quite topical at this time of the year and hopefully I won't need to change it for another few months....
