Rockdoctor so am sorry hope you all bearing up .

Gingemejinglybells · 17/12/2008 20:46

Evening ladies.
So sorry for your news Rockdoctor
LaT love to your family at this hard time
We have been a busy household today. My carpet and vinyl flooring were layed today it looks luverly. About an hour after the carpet men went the Ikea delivery came DH and my Dad put the dining table and chairs together but they will do the rest tommorrow.
Went to my sisters today too with George and she has just got a teeny tiny kitten for my niece. Silly little thing was climbing up the inside of the Christmas tree and jumping every time it knocked a baubal off anyway George was realy not sure what to make of the kitten. He kept doing an almost nervous laughter when it came near him. Interesting reaction.
Had a bit of a disaster last night and tonight bed time. DH fed George before putting him down and both times he projectile vomited the whole lot back up . The only thing we can put it down to is he is too full from his dinner. It can't be the milk because weve used it since he was tiny plus he drinks his am bottle with no probs. Will keep you posted.
Well off for a bath now.
Take care all xx

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 17/12/2008 20:58

Hi all

Gingeme - am very at your new floor. Hope George ok...

Today is day 1 for DD on 100% neocate and she doesn't seem to have noticed any difference She has been a totally different baby today content to sit by herself and play in front room while I cook or tidy up etc(previously unheard of)

She has got a lot more vocal screeching (happily) and every toy she plays with is a "dat" She has also learnt to clap her hands...very sweet.

Is DS's last day and pre school tomorrow and DH is now off (new work schedule kicking in) so an invite that I had turned down as I thought I had to be around to take/pick up DS is back on!! Some RL adult company will do me good. Although I have turned down a night out on Sat due to the dancing final

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 17/12/2008 21:29

Simpson i am so [fhappy] for dd and so that it has taken so long for any official to sort her pain out!!!!

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 17/12/2008 21:30

ooh [fhappy] made that up
am for dd!!!!!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 17/12/2008 21:46

Lilyloo - LOL!!

You would think she was a different child She has been so much more interested in what is going on around her and when lazy town was on TV was laughing and trying to dance while sitting iykwim. Was sooo sweet

MrsMcClaus · 17/12/2008 21:55

Hey laies, just a quickie from me:

LaT - thinking about you and your bro at such a tough time x

Rockdoctor - I am so sorry hon my heart goes out to you x

Simpson - yay! so pleased for your DD!

JustKeepSingingCarols · 18/12/2008 08:14

Gingeme - bet the flat is looking lovely now Hope George is ok and no more vomiting?
Henry loves our cats, they make him giggle so much, it's so cute. one often sits on the stairs (behind the gate) and just looks at him while he giggles hysterically

Simpson - am so pleased that DD seems happier so quickly on the neocate, but also so that it took so long and basically you doing it yourself to sort out!
Does she have a follow-up appt soon when you can say 'i told you so' very loudly!!

have a good adult time out later
Henry loves dancing at the mo, anything that vaguely resembles music gets him wiggling, v cute

LaT - any more news on your brother? he really does need help but maybe this is the turning point?

Rockd - thinking of you and dh.

hi everyone else

Well Tom woke about 11, not sure why.
Henry was up and crying from 3.54-5 when i fed him.
Had tried teetha & calpol, no luck.

Tom then up at 6, dh got up with him but they were both bashing & crashing about so much i couldn't get back to sleep so came down grumpy at 6.45 yet another apology to dh needed.

Tom having a treat of a tv breakfast and i can just hear henry stirring so best go, back later...

LaTurkey · 18/12/2008 08:20

Hi ladies,
Well DH has gone to Liverpool for a couple of days to be with my bro. We decided it was easier for everyone if he went and not me. Bro and DH get on really well. We feel someone needs to be with bro as he is due a psychiatric assessment which will determine how he is treated but he can't really speak for himself. He's too confused and forgetful. He needs someone to speak for him. We're trying to get him residential care for 6 months which is what his friend who is a psychiatrist says is needed. He has tried to sort himself out but keeps ending back in hospital with various injuries. I would feel SOOOOO relieved if he got this. I don't think there is anything else we can do. We've all tried really hard - bro has been living with one or the other of us for the most part of the last three years and we've done him no good. Every time he is on his own he ends uop in hospital or with one of us having to go and get him because he's collapsed.

Right. For the next couple of days - no more depressing bro talk on mumsnet! Promise!

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 18/12/2008 10:18

Hi all

I am still here

rockdoctor feeling so for you. That must have been beyond horrid, not to see on the scan what you expected. Stay with us hon.

simpson about your dd So glad she is so much better. and all because you knew what was best for her and fought her corner. You are a fab mummy!!!

LaT sorry about your brother. It is such a tough time for you and your family. Keep posting please.

My absence was due to sheer exhaustion. Nathan has taken to waking for hours at a time at night. I think it may be because he has discovered that I go away for whole days at a time so is demanding company at night. Night before last I went to bed too late
afte deciding to do all the card writing and ironing and finshed at 11pm. Fed Nathan and went to sleep. 11.45 he was awake and battle commenced driving me and dh round the bend and lasting til 2.45 when I fed hima again and gave some calpol.

He then slept and I got four hours sleep before having to get up. I had an away day with all the supervising lawyers in my organisation which was nice I had not seen many of them for over a year and they all wanted to know about Nathan but it was in London so a long day, but it felt like a day out without baby .
Went to bed at nine to be ready for another battle which some from 10.30-11.30 when I fed him some more milk (refused to feed him at 10.30, less than 3 hours after last feed ), we then had another hour up from 2.30-3.30 with a feed and a poo nappy and congestion and coughing , then another drink at 6. Dh and I then awake from 8, Nathan had a leisurely lie in until 9.15

I can't wait to wean him. Will start cowsmilk in a month and once he drinks that in the day night feeds go, I think that will help. At the moment I don't feel I can refuse nightfeeds if he has only had water at the childminder.

oh my word what a waffle. madmouse is back

JustKeepSingingCarols · 18/12/2008 10:23

LaT - that's so kind of your DH. hope he can speak up for your bro and get him the helps he needs.

MM - i can't wait to wean henry either! in fact he's 11 mo on sunday so will start letting him have cows milk in a cup from then and see if i ca get him to drop some bf.
i got it wrong the other day when i posted his schedule, we are more like:

6am-ish bf
btw 12-4 bf
6 bf
7 bf and bed.

so 4, roughly. though he will claw at my top whenever he gets grumpy or tired. and i fell a bit mean holding back and just settling him down for a nap - but i figure if he was desperate he wouldn't then settle for a 2 hour nap! am trying to make sure he drinks lots of water & juice to make up for it though. but he sooo lazy when it comes to cups, as soon as i get anywhere near him to help, he just takes his hands away and lets me do it all! cheeky!

hope Nathan lets you sleep better tonight. we didn't have a great night either and we are having such a lazy day - no playgroup or any plans at all. so ds1 not dressed yet and having an extended breakfast with cbeebies
ah well, it's Christmas....sort of....

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 18/12/2008 13:59

took Nathan to soft play this morning. He pulled himself from sitting to standing on the netting .
In true Nathan style he did it with one hand that's my boy!

Made him do it again to make sure it was no fluke

Gingemejinglybells · 18/12/2008 14:12

Fantastic Nathan. Well done
Yes flat looks brill.DH is currently putting together the Ikea wardrobe and chest of drawers in the boys room. Two people from Freecycyle have had our old chairs and table and a lady is coming this afternoon for the old chests of drawers

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 18/12/2008 15:01

oh ok then last chance

JustKeepSingingCarols · 18/12/2008 15:45

filly - only if you come bearing festive gifts? then oh-kayyy i guess

gingeme - that all sounds so nice and new and sparkling clean
I would love just to have a massive clearout but never get very far with it!
And realised we have a new 'black hole' in the kitchen, argh!
the first one is overflowing with mobile phone chargers, paperwork, pens, etc.
(and that doesn't include the drawer underneath which has the takeaway menus, odd keys, etc.!)

Madmouse - yey yey yey for Nathan! I honestly think he is amazing and just has it hardwired into his brain to prove every doctor wrong
I wonder when he's a strapping man with his first child and you're the doting granny how you will look back on these days and wonder at his original prognosis!

Dh coming home soon, early, hooray
not sure if i can just hide upstairs and read my book/sleep while he sorts tea or is that a bit mean ?

Feel rotten though am full of a cold so have asked dp to get dd from nursery and am sat under quilt whilst ds wii's and dd causes mayhem , mainly yanking the baubles off the tree!
Also gave in dd1 notice at nursery today we need to save the money as i not going back but she will miss her friends has been there from 6 mths! The staff were really sad!
Have just booked her party at a farm on 17th Jan so dd1 and Martha will be having a joint one!

JKS not mean at all

Filly bring some choccies and lemsip please

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 18/12/2008 16:16

pressed return before i finished!

Gingeme sounds lovely and bet looks lovely. The smell of new carpet makes everything smell clean. I thinking of taking up carpet in hall in new year as am sick of telling dc to take their shoes off. My vax works overtime in there!

LaT hope your dh can get something in place for your brother he obv not coping , can imagine it will be a load of your mind too.

Am waiting for loads of things off ebay some xmas pressies and someone on here said there is going to be a strike tom

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 18/12/2008 16:49

Hi all

Filly - welcome back Don't leave it so long next time!!

Went to RL friends house today and her DD2 is only 3 weeks older than Molly and she had another friend there whose DS2 was 5 wks older so DD had a great time and my friend could not believe the difference in her!!

Was Ds's last day at pre school today till Jan.
both Dcs at home with me all day.

Well done Nathan Nothing seems to be stopping him!! Fab news!!

Must dash...my mum is popping in for a cuppa

LaTurkey · 18/12/2008 17:19

Filly - was just thinking of you as we're not too far from the ned of this thred. Get your thinking cap on.

MM - Very envious of Nathan! I've been trying to encourage Sabela to pull up - though I don't really know how - but she just will not do any locomotion by herself!

Simspn - so glad dd is better with that milk. What a relief.

Lily and JKS thanks for kind words. you are right. if he was in a residential plac eit would be a huge weight of our minds. We just can't cope. My dad's wife is on the point of leaving and she's an absolutely lovely lady and so patient.

Gingeme - envious of 'new' flat.

An evening with no DH. THat means the night off cooking! I never buy ready meals when we're together as I totally disapprove of them but they're my guilty treat when he goes away! They're not even that nice but I like the slobbery of it.
