Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 18/12/2008 20:16

DH just rang his sister in Ireland to find out how her results are today and the cancer is all gone Which is the best news!!

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 18/12/2008 20:46

Good news simpson

So Filly where are you now?????

LaT have you tried taking Sabela to soft play? Wacky Warehouse is fun and it is very stimulating. Lots of things that you just have to touch and as I said the netting is great for pulling up on, especially the netting that holds in all the bright coloured balls that I seem to remember she really likes. On the other hand, she is like Nathan, independent streak a mile wide, and I have little doubt madam will one day get up and walk because she has decided this is a good time

Gingemejinglybells · 18/12/2008 21:11

Evening ladies.
Welcome back Filly
Well it has been a busy day I can tell ya.
My paents have gone home and calm has been restored just about.
Tried settling George without a bottle tonight. He wouldn't have it. Kept crying and wrigglng for about half hour. Made him 4oz which he drank in no time . Still cried a bit when he had finnished it but settled ok after.
Poor you Lillyloo. I was like that last week. Still a bit snotty now.
Simpson glad things are going ok with the new milk.
Lol at ding dinners LaTurkey. We don't have them often but yeah they do come in handy sometimes.
JKS I'm wll known for my clear outs. Probably have another one of the boys toys after Christmas. They will go to Edwards playgroup though not Freecycle.
Right well I'm off for a shower now. All weaty after my busy day.
Take care all xx

LaTurkey · 19/12/2008 10:16

Morning ladies!

I'm not letting Sabela have her marathon naps for a few days to see if that helps the early waking. Must go and get her in a moment.

MM - I will try soft play. We have been but I didn't think of that.

Gingeme - glad peace is restored.

Am very with my dad. Well, more like miffed. Notonly has he been picking at DHs judgement about things (DH is cleaning my brother's tip of a flat and is throwing some stuff which is unusable like the duvet. Funny he didn't question when my other brother threw out his pillows for the same reason), and commenting on how much DH talks - which is a lot ('Does he realise Matthew will need to rest' WTFFFFFFF!) he now wants DH to buy all his Christmas presents for him as me and my two brothers will be spending Christmas in Liverpool as Brother will be in hospital still. SO UNGRATEFUL AND UNGENEROUS OF MY DAD Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Just needed to get that out of my system.

Off to fetch baby.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 19/12/2008 13:20

Hi all

LaT - not suprised you are Hope your DH is handling it ok....

Went to baby clinic this morning as they were having mince pies and doing some cooking etc for the older DCs and met some friends there.

Got back home to find out DD's consultant has rung and wants to know how she is so I ring him back and already he is talking about gradually taking her off neocate and putting her back onto dairy products Why won't he admit he is wrong!!?? I was fuming and told him that she has been in pain for 10ths there is no way we are trying cows milk for at least 6mths

Also was supposed to have got paid today the holiday pay I accumulated while on mat leave and no wage slip or money. Grrr. Payroll say they haven't been told about me...are looking in to it. But I was counting on that money to pay some bills etc.

Gingemejinglybells · 19/12/2008 13:49

Afternoon ladies.Oh dear sorry tohear of your troubles Simpson you know whats best for your baby and how settled she is on the new milk. Ignore your consultant.
LaTurkey at you Dad.
George slept through last night from 8-6am Goes to show he doesn't need night time bottles. Just hope its not a one off. Unfortunately David wok at 3 am with a temp of 104 gave him Calpol and Nurofen and a cold flannel on hid forehead. He settled back to sleep. No school for him today
Edward went to his playgroup party today. Made a brill hat and glittery pinecone for the tree
Well not much happening this afternoon.
David chillin in front of Toy Story and George. Edward sleeping nd DH at his eldest sons sorting out his pc.
Hope your all having a good afternoon xxx

JustKeepSingingCarols · 19/12/2008 13:53

Simpson - re money & double re pead. really they just seem determined not to let her have neocate, what is their problem?!?
How is your DH doing btw?
Good news about his sister

LaT - not sure what your dad's trying to achieve but peeing off the person who is actually looking after his ill son is not a great idea!
Did Sabela appreciate being woken up?!

Gingeme - you have so much energy! I suppose you have to with the 3 boys to look after and maybe i'm naturally a bit lazy!!

Filly - have we scared you off?!

well i stupidly agreed to arrange & host a Christmas party for our toddler antenatal group - 7 toddlers, 7 mums & 3 babies. Seemed like a good idea at the time
Should be fun except DS1 is the grumpiest i've ever seen him, great.

Dh and I were out last night at a carol singing dinner thing and i drank too much
so woke at 5 hungover
ds2 started muttering from about 5.10
ds1 up at 5.30
the 3 of us downstairs at 5.55 waiting for Tikkabilla to start!

Let DH have a couple of hours then we swapped and i went back to bed.

Bless DH though but he didn't tidy up after tea last night, or after breakfast this morning so the kitchen was a right mess.
He somehow managed to let my expensive light up snowglobe from M&S last year get broken yesterday when i napped & let ds2 throw his yoghurt all over the floor this morning, then left it to set nicely
Sometimes it really is easier to do things yourself....

May look on Ebay for a replacement globe thing i really liked it .

right, have got table ready, kitchen tidy, playroom tidy, just want to hang up some Christmas cards now.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 19/12/2008 15:19

afternnon all just back from work got a card signed off everyone and a lovely big bunch of flowers and head cracked his usual joke about me populating the world! I suppose he has had to pat all my 3 mat pays there but still........

Simpson that comes down to funding and money pure and simple! Can payroll do money transfer ?

JKS hope the hangover eased and about your globs same here with my willow tree figures , always seems when i am not about and dp in charge one gets broken!

Gingeme hope you getting all the bugs out of the way by xmas , your lo's are really good at sharing arent they

LaT at your dad and poor your dh!

MM i always do soft play when i am sick of the house getting tipped up and mess and arguing etc will def be there over the festive period!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 19/12/2008 16:07

I'm here... sorry i've been missing but DD not well.

Since monday she's had diahrea (I can never spell that word) which luckily is starting to clear up today - its more lumpy rather than liquid and she's eating again.
BUT now she's got a cold

MM - BRILLIANT about nathan

Simp - BRILLIANT about DD too

Filly - Where you go now?

LaT - Hope your brother gets all the help he needs.

Sorry but I forgot everything else I read...

LaTurkey · 19/12/2008 16:52

Grr Simpson. What is he like?

Gingeme - How's David?

Lucky - Ugh - it's one thing after another once they get ill, isn't it?

JKS - Why is it always a favourite thing that gets broken? Why not some old dish you don't care about? You ar ebrave getting drunk. I think if I had a hangover I would also have a nervous breakdown! LOL at 'waiting for Tikabilla' to start. We are often doing this too!

Lily - glad you enjoyed work do.

As far as I know the comments from my Dad have only come to me and I have no intention of passing them on. I also refrained from telling my father he could only find time to pick over these tiny details because he doesn't have enough to do in the day. I've been a good girl all round. Feeling a bit though. Inevitable I suppose. Oh well. Up and at 'em I always say.

Gingemejinglybells · 19/12/2008 17:13

Don't Lilly I hate all this cold lark. It just goes round and round when youv'e got one at school
David is a bit better thankyou for asking LaTurkey. Still coughing li e a 40 a day smoker though
Ooops JKS I don't think I could handle a hangover now! Hope your feeling better now.
about your snow dome.
Wonder where Filly went off to. Hope shes ok .

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 19/12/2008 17:34

Lucky - Hope A is better now....

Lilyloo - Payroll finally rang me back at 4.55pm and they had forgotten about me {fsad] so going to do paperwork on Monday and my monet in a/c hopefully Tuesday....

JKS - Think the reason they are going on about getting her off neocate already is its £25 a tin But DD needs it so....tough really!! DH is doing good, back at work tomorrow working straight through till Boxing Day now.

Gingeme - Hope george drops night time bottle tonight for you

LaT - hope you are ok...

Braved it and went into town this afternoon and bought a few last bits. Got a nice photo frame for DH (from woolies) and DD a toy kitchen for next Christmas from The Entertainer for £20 as we will have no money then.

Popped into the office to say "hello" to everyone which was nice. Took DD ashe loved all the attention!!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 19/12/2008 19:24

Aaliyah is now in bed earlier than normal and I'm not too sure whether to be worried about that!! lol

I'm thinking of buying a new xmas tree as all we've got it mums old 7ft one which I can't light cos I haven't got any wires that'll go across the room so I'm thinking of buying a pre-lit one. Not sure yet.

Is anyone else blitzing the house for xmas? DD is staying at mums on Monday then my Dad is bringing her back here in the morning followed by DP taking her to his nans on Tuesday so I'm hoping to completely do the house during that time but I'm not sure if i'm gonna overdo it or in fact even finish it.

DD went to her babyclub's xmas party today but in order to be able to pay for the food they combined it with the 1-3 club too. OMG. DD has to move up into that next year and I'm so scared for her cos they are just so boisterous - DD got knocked over loads, had stuff pulled from her hands and I just don't know how to deal with that cos it's not my place to tell the kids off is it but at the same time I can't go "running to their mums" either. I'm seriously thinking of not going once she has to move up but if I do that she's not gonna get to play with kids.
I know I should really just leave her to it but I can't let myself - they are just too big for her. -- Oh i'm allowing her to become my PFB aren't I?

I'm looking at buying DD a toy box for xmas which I'll paint just before and it can sit in the front room but I dont know whethet that's worth it.

Oh I bought her that ball toy from ELC can't wait to put it up.
Simps - Thanks for the code offer but DP didn't want to order it. Luckily cos DD kept smiling at the cashier she gave up a 20% xmas bonus which she is allowed to use "as she sees fit" good ol' alibum

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 19/12/2008 21:00

Grrr - Sorry ladies but F***G DP's

He tells me he's in work tonight for 9pm so it gets to 8:55pm (am refusing to wake him up anymore as he has alarms and just turns them off) and I finally decide I'd better wake him up to which he replies he's too tired to go in at 9 and is going in at 10 instead.

I've been waiting for him to get his arse out of bed so I can tidy our bedroom (house blitz) so now it's getting too late and I'm tired and feel like i've wasted an evening!!

I'm feeling totally upset by it (which is wierd) and he wonders why i'm naggy?

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 19/12/2008 22:28

Lucky if you were me this would be a sure sign of a period coming chill out chick you will have a heart attack next

I will be blitzing the house too. Monday is my last day at work until 5 January, but I am taking him to his child minder on wednesday for his normal half day and I intend to clean clean clean from 9 til 1 until the house sparkles. She is £3.50 per hour and I need to pay her half money for my hols anyhoo, so it is a lot cheaper than a cleaner and I like a good clean not that you would think so seeing my house again

phew nathan i back to almost normal sleepwise, just woke a bit early. normal meaning feeding at 12, 3 and 6 but at least no extended waking sessions, which was good as I have been back in court today for the first time. Glad the judge still knew me, as did a lot of others. It was only a technical hearing anyway but i was a bit nervous after a year.

Simpson grrrrrr at paed, ignore him, or even consider writing a letter that you are unhappy about his conduct. £25 a tin, so what, how many tins a week do you use? Thought so. I had to battle for Nathan's meds when he was tiny, the normal anti epileptics were full of alcohol, it would have meant him effectively drinking 2oz of beer a day. You get told not to feed kids salt, sugar, honey etc, but alcohol is ok apparently . I got what I wanted with the help of a lovely pharmacist (after I burst out crying in Boots). Cost £80 for two weeks. So what, that is what my boy needs. So you keep your stance.

LaT grrrr re your dad, poor dh trying to do whatever needs doing he gets this.

JKS naughty girl how is your head

FILLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

ginge hope they ar enot all starting another round of colds and flus

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 20/12/2008 10:53

MM - You are so right. This morning after a nice long kip - DD slept from 6:30pm till 8am last night. Poor little un's not well. She's back in bed now as well - I am laughing at the msg I wrote last night.

I still told him off saying I was hoping his early night in work would mean I could start on our bedroom so he's said sorry (although I dont actually know what he's sorry for ) and I'm just gonna do it while DD is at mums.

we're going shopping today to get the last 2 xmas presents (DP's & My grandad's) some gift tags and other bits and bobs. Doing our proper xmas shop on Monday which i'm scared about! lol

Anywho.... Hope your all ok. xxx and hugs to all and all LO's.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 20/12/2008 11:10

Oh forgot to say DP caught me giving DD her advent chocs this morning and wants to know if I give it to her everyday. When I said yes he said she's gonna get fat and be bullied now!! LMAO.. I told him "bah humbug" and gave her her 2nd one just to annoy him (that I normally keep till the evening)

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 20/12/2008 12:26

Lucky - LOL if there were chocolate advent calenders in this house I would have eaten the chocolate not DD (if she was allowed it!)

DS doesn't like it (doesn't know what he is missing) so he has one with jelly tots in!!

Just finished writing the last of my cards to post this afternoon. DD having nap after a little battle....long may it last

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 20/12/2008 16:40

Gosh it's quiet on here,

Just come on to say that I've cleaned my cupboards, the rotten stainless steel extraction cover (took ages) I've done the last of my xmas shopping and I'm just about to wrap it all then I'll be ready for xmas!! woohoo

LaTurkey · 20/12/2008 17:01

Yay Lucky! That sounds like a good day

I have NOT emptied the washing machine, washed up after lunch or made the beds. And yes, this was the day one of DHs work colleagues came round to see the baby and I'd forgotten. And yes she did use the loo so saw the upstairs. Thank god she didn't go in the kitchen!

And yes I was very obviously just about to take the baby for a walk when she arrived. I pretended I'd just come back. Sabela was very confused.

The one day I decide to slob! Blushes all round.

A woman at the Christmas market gave me a plant today! I'd gone to get some money for it and the machine wouldn't give me any for no discernable reason. When I went back, she just said 'Happy Christmas'!

I have chinese stir fry and chocolate ice-cream for tea! Yay!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 20/12/2008 19:55

Hi all

Hope everyone is ok...

Filly where did you go??....

Not done much today, just wrapped DH's presents (one from me and one from Dcs) with DS "helping" Another parcel arrived from DH's family in Ireland with pressies for DS. Nothing for DD

DD so much better, just a little whimper when she does a poo as she still has an anal fissure (or 3 to be exact) which must be sore.

However she has learnt that screaming very loudly gets her what she wants...not sure what to do about that yet

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 20/12/2008 20:43

hi all

been busy today, sooo tired. Decided that now Nathan was able to sleep again that it was time to do some pick up put down to help him self settle again. So that took place from 11pm to midnight, with sleep from midnight til 12.10 when he wanted a drink , then up briefly for a drink at 3.15 then 6.10 and 8.30.
It meant i did not get to sleep until abou1am and that does not work for me. I am much better at 6am as long as I can get to sleep early.

Did all churches together carol service in the pouring rain luckily had some shether. dh was preaching, he found it very strange to preach to people walking by rather than sitting still. One of the women from another church asked me to speak at the local Women's World Day of Prayer meeting in March. That is quite a Big Thing need to think.

Also been busy with Nathan who is sitting better and better. He is finally developing some righting reflex (ie when he starts to topple to the left his head goes to the right to balance) and some parachute reflex (shoting arms out to the sides to catch), but it needs more practice. We are also practicing getting into sitting from lying down. Hard work but he is getting there and at the moment enjoys sitting on my lap then throwing himself back so he can sit up again.

He keeps coughingg bet he will cry in a minute...

Simpson I don't get that Irish lot , why oh why?

LaT for you glad you were home poor Sabela good thing she cannot talk yet . dh still in Liverpool?

Hope everyone ok

MadLyCarrolingChristmasMouse · 20/12/2008 20:45

simpson quite shocked that dd has 3 anal fissures. so nasty and unnecessary.

re: the shouting, I would give it a few days yet, it will probably settle down when she gets used to feeling better and gets on with things that are more exiting

JustKeepSingingCarols · 20/12/2008 21:03

yawn...was up pre-6am again.

Both boys knackered by bedtime, ds2 went at 6.30 and ds1 at 7 without a peep!
hope they will go longer tomorrow morning...

been sorting out FC presents tonight - had to reopen 3 to see what they were! wrapped them ages ago.
too organised by half i guess.

JustKeepSingingCarols · 20/12/2008 21:07

echo madmouse comments re anal fissures - it should NOT have got this far

LaT - yes lucky you were in at the time!
sure she wouldn't have cared even if she noticed!

MM - that all sounds so good re Nathan
The speaking thing would terrify me

Lucky - you have done well today

I have done, erm....nothing housework-wise today!!
may go and empty the dishwasher in a mo, DH has gone supermarket shopping for Christmas stuff, hope he doesn't spend toooo much.
