simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:19

Lucky - We got our washing machine from Argos its a Zanussi and was one of the cheapest...have probsbly cursed it now and it will pack up tomorrow!! But we are very happy with it. Off the top of my head think it was £190 and we got it because the rented flat we lived in before had same model and we had no complaints

Lilyloo - LOL at your DS being anal - Joshua before he goes to bed tidies the front room and the cushions have to be in a certain spot, remote control on top of TV which had to be OFF!!

Will Martha be ok in buggy? DD is much better in buggy TBH. Down side of a LO with allergies they have been in pain when VERY small and have learnt screaming LOUDLY gets them what they want Just take lots of food...DD rather partial to blueberries ATM!!

When I saw the 4th pead today DD was totally fed up of being examined and SCREAMED the guy looked at me and sighed and said "doesn't she have a dummy" (wish I had been ready with a one liner)and I kept ramming blueberries in her mouth as she looves them

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:21

oh simp - I wish you did have a dummy that you could have shoved in his mouth - grrrrrr

It really annoys me I mean they chose to work with kids so why are they getting annoyed at one that's screaming. To be fair working in that way means most of the kids they see are going to be hurting and so probably crying.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:21

I've just seen a HEC one but I'm not sure if thats a good model.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:23

LOL at shoving dummy in his mouth!!

How much is washing machine you have seen?

Is there any good ones on tescos direct? Then you can get club card points too!!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:26

Well DP gets a discount from tesco but even with his discount its still as expensive as the argos one. argos one

tesco one Minus 10%

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:26

theres a indesit model in my tesco catalogue is costs £212.97

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 16/12/2008 22:27

Oh well i don't wprk there anymore so not really bothered!
Martha ate a ton of raisins , and clementine (her fave at the mo) at ds xmas play so will prob take more of the same. Tbh the kids at the school were much worse behaved than Martha could ever be
LOL at ds he really is a little old man think it may be pfb and a boy same as yours by sound of it

Sorry Lucky no idea has it any reviews if you google ??

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:28

But you would still get the club card points you could use on nappies etc....

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:29

I've tried googling alsort and they all seem fine but then some people on here have had bad experiences with their machines so now I'm wary about everything!! lol.

It's giving me a headache.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:35

Don't blame you!!

All we did when we bought ours (which I am NOT saying is right) was to go for one of the cheapest and to go for a make we knew ie indesit, hotpoint, zanussi.

Ours is a Zanussi ZWF1111 which I can't see in argos anymore

Have also heard good things about Candy though.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:36

See I wanna get one tomorrow - put in car and bring home and the only place I know that you can do that is currys....
Gonna try brighthouse again though.. and cos we're going to ELC I think we'll have a nose around that town too as I haven't been there for a while.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 16/12/2008 22:39

Isn't brighthouse the one with rip off rates ???
Our Candy is fab and same as Simpson cheap and cheerful!!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:40

Let me know if you need the code for 20% off for ELC Unfortunately lost the actual voucher but have code to quote if you order it online or over phone but you will have to work out if its worth it with delivery charge etc.

My mum bought DS new car seat the other day and there were people walking out of argos with washing machines....

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:42

yeh brighthouse have TERRIBLE rates... but we wouldn't buy on credit its just that sometimes they have a cheap "managers deal of the day" so i'm hoping to find a cheap machine there.. WOULD NEVER DO CREDIT THERE.

Walking out with washing machines at Argos? The website keeps telling me home delivery only...hmmmm. Will have to check that out then.

Thanks for the offer about the code. Will check with DP tomorrow after we've been.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 22:47

Our argos has just opened so maybe different.

When we got ours from argos we only waited 3 days for delivery and they connected it too.

Lilyloo - Great minds Have to say a few RL pals have a candy so would go for that next (hopefully not too soon )

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 22:51

See I know 3 days isnt long and the sensible part of me is telling me to order one and be done with it but the childish side of me wants one now!!

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 23:01

Would you be able to connect it yourself though.

If you can what the cheapest you can pick up?

What I am trying to say is if you can save yourself £80 odd or so might me worth waiting....only for a few days....

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 23:03

I think we can connect it cos all the hoses are connected from the broken washing machine. So in theory. it should be remove broken machine and replace with new machine using connected pipes .... but your right I may not be able to.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 16/12/2008 23:05

Should be easy enough....in theory!!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 16/12/2008 23:06

EXACTLY

see the childish side coming out again.. I want it NOW.. LMAO

JustKeepSingingCarols · 17/12/2008 06:17

Well i only had the one glass (and it was a small one honest!) and it made my head spin - don't know if it was stronger than normal or what.

Henry up since 5.12 just when you start to think you are cracking it....
Tom still asleep though which is good.
H will want to nap just as we have to go to pre-school though so will be a juggling act.

H's favourite trick at the mo is to stand up at a chair/door/whatever and wave at you with one hand
v cute! but does make him fall over more, lol.

And when he knows he's doing something cheeky, he scrunches up his nose and sort of snorts at you, v funny!

simpson - i was trying to say yesterday when my connection went funny that only you know what is worth the stress at the mo with dh. if the meds could be perfected (and he didn't drink!) does the real dh come back? and is he prepared to put some effort in too? it can't all be down to you to carry him and be a mum to 2 LOs as well.
I think your ultimatum is perfectly fair, imo.
And perhaps his family need to know more of what's going on and take their share of the load???
sorry if going too far, tell me to butt out if you want.

last pre-school until Jan this morning and Dh's last day in London tomorrow for a few weeks, hoorah!
Then we can start getting ready for Christmas properly. it's next week already!

LaTurkey · 17/12/2008 10:04

Simpson - so topugh with a mental illness isn't it? I was talking to my best friend last night and we were saying it would easier if it were cancer because then you have a known prognosis and treatment path. With a mental illness you are so in the dark.

Lucky - cheap and cheerful I think, if you're not going to go for Miele which are AMAZING and last for ages. My dad has one.

Brother still in intensive care. They are cleaning his kidneys and it looks like he'll be ok. He's terrified though. Poor boy. We're really trying to get him some serious psychiatric help. He has a friend who is a psych consultant in London so she should be able to push and advise us as to what is available. Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in the current state of knowledge in mental illness.

Have a cold today and Sabela awake at 3.45 . She had a couple of little naps until 6am and is sleeping again. Why oh why aren't I?

Wot no Madmouse?
Wot no Gingeme?

Present wrapping and the last of the cards now...

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 17/12/2008 10:33

LaT with Sabela early starts!

JKS hope you not coming down with something

Have sent ds off to school armed with all his pressies for teachers and dd off to pre school with hers!
DD finishes pre school today and has her nursery party this aft!
DS finsishes tom and then we done
DP working until bank shuts xmas eve though so no present wrapping until xmas eve i think!
DS brought up santa again but i got out pic from Lapland last year. He then decided he must be the real santa as he knew what he wanted , as did the xmas link email off here , but the ones who have to ask what he wants are helpers! hope that quells his inquisitive mind for this year at least!
Am taking nan to hosp this aft so better get on with cleaning whilst dd in bed!

Have good day all

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 17/12/2008 11:41

Lilyloo - I haven't done any pressies for Ds to take to pre school Didn't think he had been there long enough.Eeek.

Lucky - Any decision yet on which one to buy?

JKS - I texted his sister last night and told her but his mother is toxic useless. And yes when he takes meds, sleeps well etc the old DH does come back that is why this is so hard

LaT - Thinking of you and your family. I know just what you mean about mental illness. DH's sister (not the one I texted last night) has just finished treatment for breast cancer and will get the results on Thursday either the cancer is gone....or not. Totally at Sabela's early start!!

rocksanta · 17/12/2008 15:14

Hi guys - another little prayer over here please - just had our 12 week scan and it wasn't good news. At least we found out before Christmas. I'm sure I'll bounce back in the New Year...
