well done well done well done to Aaliyah and Molly

Simpson isn' it fantastic that Molly now has the spirit and the energy to fulfil her potential? So glad she has Neocate. Still get @%$&~ when i think of the paediatrician

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:16

OK i'm losing my mind....

I just had to dig a bottle out of the bin and stop myself putting a dirty nappy in the dishwasher

Well i'm going to see my friend (that you know MM) to give out xmas presents tomorrow. She's so excited as I've asked her to be bridesmaid!!

MrsMcClaus · 26/12/2008 21:22

Hey ladies here to catch up and to say sorry for not wishing you all a very merry Christmas I meant to but things got hectic and I never got on here hope you all had a wonderful time and that the babies had a ball, Xavier did, he has loved every minute of the last 3 days except for his visit to Santa when he screamed

madmouse · 26/12/2008 21:24

Hiya MrsMc

Lucky, give her my best, glad she is your bridesmaid, she needed cheering up although she seemed to have find my email-peptalk useful and she got a few things sorted for her ds.

Maybe you should stop cleaning for a bit

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 21:26

Madmouse - my dad said yesterday how DD is really starting to come on now and has a real personality etc rather than just whinging all the time etc and he put it down to the fact she is getting older but I said no its definately due to being off dairy. She is like a different baby. She is so confident with strangers now and beams away at everyone and will let anyone hold her etc...as long as not tired etc. It's lovely to see.

I get very when i think if i hadn't sussed that it was an intolerance and fought her corner she would still be miserable etc and some babies are never even diagnosed they are in pain till they grow out of it at 2 ish.

Lucky - How many bridesmaids are you going to have?? [excited emoticon]

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 21:28

Mrs Mcjnr - glad you had a good few days and Xavier enjoyed himself!!

Lucky stop cleaning it's an order!! LOL

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:32

I'm not cleaning. I just brought the bottle that DD had drank from and her dirty nappy down the stairs and got confused.
I did abit of tidying this afternoon (xmas dinner stuff to be washed) but apart from that i've stopped. The front room looks like a bomb site.

Bridesmaids hmmm. As well as the friend that MM knows (we'll call her A so I can explain)? well DD, obviously, my friend who I've known since I was 4 and (I spose) DP's 2 sisters.

I really want to have his nephews (3) and her DS as page boys too. I have this idea that it would be lovely for A's DS to walk with DD down the aisle carrying the rings together but I've also got in my head that I'd like DD as a flowergirl so I'm not sure.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 21:37

Oooh you are going to have great fun shopping for outfits for bridesmaids etc!! What fun!!

When will the wedding be?

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:38

I want it early 2010 but I think (cos of money) it'll be 2011 instead.

I'm thinking purple/lilacy bridesmaid dresses and a horse and carriage so far (that's all I've thought of) lol

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 21:42

2011 gives you a good while to plan

Purple/lilac is good.

What about your dress?? You need to start buying some bridal magazines!!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:44

I dont want white but I think I'll have to White means virginial (sp) and I'm not so it seems wrong!! IYKWIM.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 21:45

Could go for an off white ie ivory or something??

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:52

yeh maybe!! I just like the symbolism of weddings so I dont want to use them if it's not right IYKWIM

So glad to hear you all had lovely days DS had such fun, he really loved being with the family and playing and laughing and wasn?t very interested in the pressies ? the true spirit of Christmas I guess he?s pretty interested in them all today though

Hello Housemum I got that Nigella book for Christmas from DH and my birthday is 29/12 (I?m 35 on Monday! ) and I like having my pressies under the tree so long as they are NOT in Christmas paper!

Lucky what a lovely pressie!! Did you see that coming or was it a total surprise? Congratulations hon!!! hello! Glad the washing machine turned up too! We had Xavier baptised on 26/10 ? he only just fitted into the family gown! you could always name Aaliyah officially at your wedding? isn?t that funny that you and MM have a friend in common? Small world! My nephew was 2 ½ at our wedding and was the ring bearer, he did a great job

Lily ? how awful for you having no heating or hot water did you get them back for Christmas? sorry to hear the promotion news too

Hey Mad glad to hear the CC is working for you

Ah Nicky ? lovely news, congrats hon My little girl is due 30/5, very excited!

Hey Simpson, how is DD now? I know what you mean about choosing godparents I have been pondering that for B2 great news at the drs but not so good about your money hope you have it now.

JKS ? how did it all go with all those relies under your roof? Hope your folks made it too.

LaT ? sorry to hear things are so bad with you hope you enjoyed Sabela?s first Christmas in spite of it all x

Gingeme ? hope your boys are feeling better and enjoyed Christmas

Thought you might like to see - the pic doesn't do it justice.

simpsonsChristmasSpecial · 26/12/2008 22:10

Its lovely

Did you have any idea at all? You must have been over the moon!!

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 22:12

I really didn't know. DP (should I say DF) said he didn't even decide to do it till xmas eve. He's always been telling me that'd he never do it at xmas/valentine's etc. lol

MrsMcClaus · 26/12/2008 22:25

Ah Lucky, it?s gorgeous!

Like the booties thread idea!..

Can I vent??!! At the risk of sounding VERY ungrateful (which I probably am ) I got some hideous Christmas presents from my in laws I am furious because I sent them a wish list in October of small light things to help them and they also ignored my expressed wish NOT to receive any clothes. I got two pairs of skimpy winceyette pyjamas two sizes bigger than I am. Totally unsuitable and as I am abroad I can?t take them back. I tried to make suitably grateful noises but was seething. Then my MIL told me not to be offended on my birthday (Monday) as she has bought me ?some larger sizes? as she hadn?t expected me to lose weight while pg WTF bigger than 2 sizes too big??!! and not mat clothes either. Grrrrrrr!! eBay here I come.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 22:30

Aww MrsM - I've had times where I've been given terrible presents. I have to admit (and I feel terrible doing it) but last years present from MIL (to be ) was one of those cards where you've bought a goat for someone in a 3rd world country. I hated it and not cos it wasn't something for me but cos I've always said that if I was to help charity it would be children or animals in the UK as I think enough of our money leaves the country as it is. In many a rant to said MIL so I was so annoyed when I got that. lol

I hope you can ebay them and get something you actually want.

Housemum · 27/12/2008 00:37

MrsMc - I don't blame you for venting some anger here! I would never buy clothes except for kids - and particularly not as you can't exchange them abroad! (Bought clothes for a friend's kids as she lives in US but likes UK clothes as she was brought up here - but she is in country for 3 weeks and I gave her gift receipts so her mum could change them for her even if she couldn't).

And Lucky - sympathise with you - I wouldn't like to be told what charity to give to effectively - I'd rather choose by myself.

Night all - will join the booties made for walking thread tomorrow!
