Morning ladies feeling nervous as I have to go to my Dad?s company Christmas lunch without DS and it?ll be the first time a non family member has looked after Xavier ? feeling sick! The couple looking after him are lovely and I?ve known them for years and they have 6 kids and 8 grandkids so are very competent but I can?t stop imagining how quiet Xavier will go when he realises that Mummy is not here I could be gone 4 hours or so and I know it?s good for me to get away and have some time just being me sometimes but it?s like leaving an organ at home isn?t it?
LaT ? ok I understand your point now about the manipulative marketing. My DH doesn?t buy me pressies or cards for any occasion he used to when we had more cash but now says he doesn?t want to buy crap and would rather buy nothing, I refuse to sink to that materialistic level and just get him what I hope are thoughtful meaningful little pressies I always feel the joy is the giving rather than the receiving luckily but I do admit to buying myself some lovely indulgent chocolates from Hotel Chocolate and putting them under the tree from an Imaginary Friend Glad you got the finger puppets. B2?s designer kitten changing mat arrived today a fabulous eBay bargain! I have a couple of the Baby Einstein CDs for DS. He loves the lullaby one but we both hate the playtime one. DS loves the ELC Teddy Bear CD though!
I have a pressie dilemma here now ? DH and I were out for dinner the other night with the parents of one of DS?s little pals and they gave me a Christmas pressie for DS! now I feel like I have to reciprocate and it?s so hard to get decent presents here. It wouldn?t be so bad but all the babies in the little group are around the same age so they have both Christmas and birthdays to celebrate plus the same little girl has a birthday party on Monday for her 1st birthday and her Mum was challenging me to beat the content of the party bags when DS turns one! how shall I deal with this? Be a meanie and not give the kids pressies for Christmas or party bags when DS turns one or just try and keep up with the Joneses? Help!!
Lucky ? LOL DS is rather partial to Faithless been meaning to ask, what is the name of the Lidl nappies you buy? The ones we got were called Toujours but they leaked we are now trying our local supermarket?s own but they take some getting used to as they are pull up ones and DS seems a bit young for such things!
JKS ? our flat is 15c most of the time! It?s quite a shock to the system as it is probably about 18c outside, the reverse from what we had in Scotland! I have a few friends that say the same about make up, they hate the feel of the glup on their faces. I?m sitting here wearing more make up than I have for ages for this blooming lunch and I feel like I should be in the Panto (really it doesn?t look as much as it feels I always do all the Christmas shopping in our house, DH gets too stressed about the money it costs but doesn?t notice as I start in September and get it all done gradually. Your posts are fab by the way!
Ginge ? I have the same issue with the intercom system, we have two though, one for the front gate and then one for the block and the internal one keeps on beeping until you answer, so annoying! your flat will feel like new next week when all the stuff arrives, very exciting!!
Simpson ? hope you are all feeling better in your house. Sorry that the dr didn?t prescribe the milk poor Ds Interesting re the cow?s milk and that?s horrific about the school shoes! Glad to hear HR are talking things with DH seriously!
Lily ? all the festive things with the DCs sound lovely how annoying about the football kit my Dad is hopeless, he?ll drag me out on Christmas Eve and it?ll be packed and after 10 mins he?ll tell me he?s bored and we?ll have to just settle for something for my Mum! at least he?s stopped insisting that we all have a brightly coloured Christmas jumper!
Angechica ? it is sad about Woolies and The Pier! Love that shop! Take care you x
Madmouse ? love the image of your Hubby and DS on the bike! we could have a caption competition on that! thanks for sharing the Dutch traditions with us my sister?s b?day is 5th December and we went to a German school when we were little and always had our shoes out!
Yay! Rockdoctor ? congratulations! join the club with me and Rubysmum! someone told me yesterday to lay off the rice krispies in future?/!! I can understand your worries, but it will work out hon! You must be due in June too? (well I?m 30 May but don?t believe it!) come and join the due in June thread, some lovely ladies over there too!
Ahh got to go, more later!!
