madmouse · 27/11/2008 22:17

Barristermum, yes, on Monday , but only Mondays, Fridays and Wednesday morning. And nathan goes to a friend who is a childminder and he likes her

i am totally frightened by how much reading I will have to do to get back up to speed with all the changes in the immigration law and policy and all the caselaw especially relating to art 3 and 8 of the Human Rights Act and the frightfully complicated EU stuff. And i will be managing new staff (I am moving offices). Say a prayer for me please.

madmouse · 27/11/2008 22:19

x post Gingeme, my friend's two year old is still in four, but then so is nathan. Nappy sizes are as reliable as clothes sizes

He was sat in his bumbo and I played peekaboo and jumped up and down like a demeted baboon with toys in my hands to make him laugh. The lovely Jennifer, daughter of a friend, is very experienced with babies and whizzed round his head with scissors, I don't think he noticed it . It helps to be at home I think.

simpson · 28/11/2008 08:52

Morning all

Both Dcs eating breakfast and then we are going to DS's old playgroup to pick up a copy of the photo they sat for last week. Lets see how much it will cost

Gingeme - at George in size 5 already!! Think nappy sizes a total con TBH to get more money out of us. DD will probably be in size 4 for around a yr and lasted in size 2 for about 3 weeks!!

Madmouse - What adorable pics Love the one with the helmet on him!! Hope work goes ok.

Barristermum - Gosh you will be exhausted tomorrow!! I got DD a couple of little maracas thingies for her stocking too!!

Lilyloo/LaT - How was last night?? Restful I hope?

JKS - Hope soft play tired H & T out so you had a good night also!!

Have to dash DS having a hissy fit and sinking to the floor because I wouldn't let him carry his bowled of finished rice crispies to the sink as he will slosh milk everywhere!!

LaTrucha · 28/11/2008 09:56

Terrible night here. Sabela was awake from 1am prety much until 9am. Short naps but mostly awake. Tooth number four has made a breakthrough this morning so hopefully that was it. She's sleeping now.

I'm leaving Sabela with DH this weekend! I have to go and do some stuff for my mother and it's too far to take the baby for two days. I'm dreading it. I've never been more than two hours away from her.

Simpson - LOl about broccoli . Let me know about the photo. I'm tempted but don't want to get whacked.

MM - good luck withthe reading. Lovely little man you've got there!

Gingeme - how are the paper chains?

Lily - time to cultivate an interest in wolves in dcs? how was your night?

Barrister - Those stocking fillers add up, don't they? a bit relieved I'm not pregnant YET. But we would both love for me to get pg this month. Not too demanding am I?

LaTrucha · 28/11/2008 10:03

Ooo - urgent question. How much formula do babies this age drink per day, and how frequently do you offer it to them? Have to tell DH.

simpson · 28/11/2008 11:04

LaT - Photo not too bad and will cost £10 for a 9X6. Will get one photo done and then take it into boots for cheaper copies

I have a weekend without Dcs too!! I can't wait!! My mum is having both Dcs from midday tomorrow till 3pm on Sunday What will I do with myself!!

On the bottle front DD has 5ozs at 8am, 5ozs at midday, 5ozs at 3.30 and 5ozs at 6pm (in room with light off etc) But she doesn't feed at all in night now She doesn't always finish her 6pm bottle though.

simpson · 28/11/2008 11:13

Also want to say "well done" to who ever said DD should NOT have lactulose (was it you JKS?) Mentioned it to HV this morning and she didn't know and had to look it up in her reference book and came back and said under no circumstances should DD have it!!

Lilyloo · 28/11/2008 12:58

LOL LaT we have loads of animals so if they don't ebay will go in ds stocking! Sorry you had bad night that sounds really bad! Hope it's not too hard getting your mums things sorted this weekend!

Mine was just as rubbish as usual think i get up and get her and feed her in a trance now !

MM sounds scary i have just typed out my notice am going to send it recorded delivery today!

Barrister the stocking fillers cost a fortune although i have learnt and the stockings have considerably diminished in size from ds to dd2

Gingeme can't believe how big Gerorge is !
DD still in size 3 huggies.

Simspon have lovely dc free weekend what you going to do?
And yes it was JKS on the lactulose can't believe your hv

I am having friends round for drinks tonight. Going xmas shopping with my sis and Martha tom , ds and dd1 going to Burnley footy match with dp! Then i am out at friends tom night. Sun am on my own as dp off on a football course so no plans other than church. DS going to watch Man City v United derby match with his grandad!

Gingeme · 28/11/2008 13:42

Simpson want to swap? I have all 5 home this weekend
George has 7oz before bed and 7oz in the night has juice with his meals.
Lillyloo were swimming tommorrow. Been promising the boys for ages now just havn't got round to it.
We put our tree up on the 14th Dec. This is my sisters birthday. Get fed up with it if we put it up too early. In fact I would quite happily take it down the day after boxing day if I had my way.
Saw my friends tiny baby daughter at playgroup this morning. Aw she is so beautiful not a bit broody thank goodness Well two boys fed and fast asleep so gonna quickly wash my hair.
Hope you all have a good weekend xxx

simpson · 28/11/2008 15:40

LaT - DD has refused both her midday bottle and her 3.30 one so God knows what is going on today

Hope this weekend goes ok for you.

Gingeme - Nope definately a kid free zone tomorrow

Lilyloo - Think I might do absolutely....nothing

My brother is here ATM building a big tower with DS

DH home from work soon....

madmouse · 28/11/2008 19:09

simpson those pics are copyrighted and Boots will/should refuse!

another ok night here. Took Nathan to a committee meeting, so he was not in bed until 9.15, so took a bit of time to settle, then needed Calpol again at 10.30, fed at 12 and 3.45, then slept till dh woke him at 8.10

saw paediatrician today (registrar in stead of consultant ho hum) which was more of a fact finding mission for them as they have limited info locally. Tried to find out more about possible mental retardation/learning disabilities but all she can say is that it is a good sign that he is so alert and engaged and into everything/keen to learn and that is a good sign.

his head has grown again, it is still small but at least it is growing. he needs to have a hearing test too.

all in all quite positive, but something in me is still hoping that someone will say everything is going to be ok , but I know no one will. But I am also glad he is doing so well really

simpson · 28/11/2008 19:36

Madmouse - so glad peadiatrician appointment went well Nathan is coming on leaps and bounds Guess its just a question of getting onto each stage ie first sitting, then crawling, then walking. He is doing so well.

Is his head in proportion to the rest of him iyswim? I just ask as you have said he is on the small side anyway.

Regarding pics, the last lot I got done in playgroup they put on disk and copied for me. said photographers tend to put water mark to stop people doing what I am doing but this one didn't. Better for me

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 28/11/2008 21:03

GREAT NAME

MrsMcJnr · 28/11/2008 21:28

Hey ladies, sorry I?ve not been around for a bit, DS and I have heavy colds how are you all? About to find out?.

MrsMcJnr · 28/11/2008 22:21

Well this is as good as I can manage

Gingeme ? DS has a walker but he hasn?t worked out that it moves yet. He may be a bit confused though as we keep the walker at my Mums as we don?t have space and he has an activity station at home so probably thinks they are the same thing.

LaT ? haven?t a clue how much DS weighs, must go and find out that is lovely to have your Mum?s journals I wish I had the discipline to do something like that, it would be so useful. I kept a diary when pg with DS and I am finding that really useful second time round but sadly since he got here I haven?t managed to keep it up hope you have a better night tonight. Great that Sabela loves that trolley of bricks, I have often thought about getting DS one of those hope the weekend away goes ok. I?m 13+6 today

Lilyloo ? hello what a busy weekend for you! Love the Xmas name sorry to hear about your rabbit I know how it hurts to lose a beloved pet

Madmouse love the photo so cute! I had to cut DS?s fringe as he could hardly see, kept all the bits though! So glad Nathan is doing so well how are you feeling about next week?

Simpson ? I?ve had DS in size 4 for a while now, I hate moving up a size! Enjoy your ?me? time glad to hear DD is getting there on the food front. How are things at home hon?

Barristermum ? it did seem so easy this time ? DH asked if the baby was his when I told him as he didn?t remember trying! your day sounded exhausting! Lovely photos (you are looking fab too!)

Hey Lucky defo having a tree but well out of DS?s reach (if there is such a place!) how is the tooth? And the knee?

JKS ? Bermuda! lucky you!

Hey Amani great to see you back!

Angechica ? hey there

Hello Midge

Wave to you Filly

Couldn?t see your pics Countess

Xavier and the milestones:

5 - play peekaboo YES

2 - play patty cake (clap hands) or wave YES but not real ?waving? at people
3 - pick up tiny object with thumb and forefinger YES
4 - walk holding furniture YES
5 - understand no but not always obey it. YES I think he thinks ?no? means ?go?

possibly be able to

simpson · 29/11/2008 10:12

Morning all

Mrs Mcjnr - WOW nearly 14wks!! How is the name choosing going? DH seems ok ATM long may it last!!

Have been totally manic this morning packing Dcs clothes etc. The new milk that DD is on is much more gloopy so when bottles come out of the dishwasher, they are still not totally clean. Grrr. So have had to hand wash them.

In 2hrs time my house will be a child free zone!! Can't wait

LaT - Hope your weekend is ok...

Have made a bit of a boo boo the last couple of days. Was wondering why DD still seemed a bit constipated when having no dairy and this morning (luckily BEFORE feeding her) checked the ingredients in her porridge and its got powdered follow on milk. Oops

AngeChica · 29/11/2008 10:42

Morning...

10 MONTHS OLD TODAY ALL THE JAN 29 BABIES! of which there are a few I think.

DS napping, DH gone to the barbers.

Rotten sleep this week, we seem to have gone backwards big time and he requires cuddling in to sleep again. DH and I can't hack tackling this til the week after Christmas when MIL has gone home and we are both off work.

I'm not sure if tooth no. 9 is on the way, how long was it JKS, after the first 8 that H got his eye teeth?

We've got too much clutter atm for a baby walker but Alek is getting really good on the push along one. He used to just go in a straight line but has started to get the hang of going round corners now! He's been crawling for 3 months now and cruises around the furniture ok, but when we try and walk him around he still just squats down .

AngeChica · 29/11/2008 10:42

D'oh.

AngeChica · 29/11/2008 10:43

Getting like my MIL constantly repeating myself

madmouse · 29/11/2008 16:20

simpson just get readybrek Nathan loves it

sorry just stormingh in, will be back later x

simpson · 29/11/2008 17:29

Hi

Kids are gone

My mum rang and said she is making a cake with DS so am sure he is having a great time!!

Not sure about DD who wailed on way out of house "mum mum mum mum"

Madmouse - keep meaning to try readybrek and weetabix again with DD. Stopped giving it to her when I thought they were making her constipated and never tried it again!! Having said that DS who normally wants rice crispies/cornflakes demanded 2 weetabix this morning!!

Lots of wine and TV for me tonight

MrsMcJnr · 29/11/2008 21:24

Simpson I don?t expect you to come back on here this weekend hope you are having a lovely time. Glad to hear all is well with DH at the mo. In spite of all the suggestions on the name thread so far, we still can?t get past Aaliyah (sorry Lucky!) we liked the name for so long before we had DS and DH is already calling B2 ?Princess Liyah? still keeping an open mind though.

Angechica ? Xavier is also needing to be cuddled back to sleep now whereas before he just went back down with his dummy, that?s if he woke up at all. He is teething too and I think they are sore ones ? eye teeth are those the ones 5th and 6th at the top? His cheeks are bright red poor thing

I got a Vtech mobile phone toy from eBay and DS loves it! All I need to say is ?where?s your ?phone?? and he pottles off to get it, so sweet
