Amani · 25/11/2008 16:38

lilly - hugs hun - so sorry to hear about your rabbit.
xx

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 16:40

Thanks Amani - Her skin is VERY dry so maybe we need to find a more moisturising one for her.

HOws things with DD now?

LaTrucha · 25/11/2008 16:55

Lucky - We have two on prescription from doctor - one is a treatment as such and one is a moisturiser.

The treatment is hydrocortisone cream. I'ts the only thing that really works to shift it but it is a steroid cream so it has to be used very sparingly.

The othe ris called cetraben. It's basically a parafin cream I think. HOWEVER, if I were you I'd ask your doctor to give you Aveeno on prescription. It's in the beauty section at Boots and costs a fiver but it is the best thing ever for sensitive skin (I have it and eczema too). It won't shift the eczema if it's taken hold but is the best overall sensitive skin cream I've ever found. And I've tried ALL the ones I can afford!

On that note, does anyone ever read the style and beauty thread? s it only me who doesn't use (read can't afford) Clinique, Clarins, Lancome etc?

Lily- I'd love to wait a year or two, but realistically I'm an old bird andI want three so I have to get cracking. Also we are tryiong to time it to go with DHs sabbatical in case horrible illness problem last time I was pg returns.

Lucky - hope the tooth is improving.

MM - we had a good night last night, did you? Big changes afoot for you/ How are you feeling about it. Any success on the day weaning so far? p.s. yes it's the sickness problem that's driving the need to stop bf. Hmm. maybe it will slip DHs mind. (It's his work that really suffered when I got ill, I just lay on the sofa trying not to go to hospital - so I really need not to be selfish about it).

I seem to have lost all the other posts for the mo as for some reason the computer thought I wanted to preview (does anyone else get that out of the blue?).

So, from what I can remember...

Hi Gingeme, Hi Filly, Hi Amani,
Hi JKS - sorry about foul sleep.
Hi Countess - lovely pic.
Hi Simpson - how was DH after session? about medication - they're not trying to pull that one again are they?
Hi Midge
Hi MrsMc - how are you feeling? How many weeks is it now? SO EXCITING!

If I missed you, feel free to have a hissy fit..

LaTrucha · 25/11/2008 16:57

Oooo - any tips on making photo albums look nice? I'm just putting together our wedding one - gorgeous pics, totally gorgeous album, one novice album makes ready to spoil everything ..meep.. help..

LaTrucha · 25/11/2008 16:58

lily - sorry about bunny

LaTrucha · 25/11/2008 17:00

Ange - hissy fit had for you. Clingy little ones EXHAUSTING. Thankfully she's been in a slightly better way today. You?

simpson · 25/11/2008 17:00

Amani - welcome back

Lucky - We have oilatum for DD's bath and have just got doublebase gel as i didn't like epiderm. But might be worth cutting down on dairy products as GP thinks that has caused DD's. What do you wash DD with in the bath?

Gingeme - DH seems ok ATM but hosp think he needs to be on medication for a yr He had councilling session yesterday.

Lilyloo - Sorry to here about bunny.

JKS - Think Ds's weeing is caused by starting pre school TBH. He won't use loo there at all and comes home in a bit of a state as he is desparate to go!!

Hi to everyone else!! Have to go and bath DD

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 17:02

Get some of those scissors that cut pretty patterns around the side. Put pieces of coloured paper behind them.

Thanks for the cream advice - am gonna try to get apt tomorrow anyway cos I got wierd knee that feels like there's loose cartilage in it.

Lily - Sorry about bunny.

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 17:04

DD has bedtime bath and always had but its suddenly started up again. Oilatum made her rash worse when we first had it.
I think its triggered by heat cos she didn't have it in summer but now we're back in winter with heating on she seems to be getting it back again. We've got diprobase cream (just checked)

LuckySalem · 25/11/2008 17:08

Ladies - Quick poll - Are you putting up xmas tree now that you're little ones are moving?

I'm really scared that either DD, or one of the cats (mum and hugo - black kitten) will probably be here stil) are gonna pull it down and I dont know if I can be bothered listening to DP shouting about the tree being down AGAIN or having to put it up for the 3rd time that day. DD doesn't listen to me so its no good trying the "dont touch that" thing.

simpson · 25/11/2008 17:13

Forgot to say earlier DD's new thing of the day...

Everytime DS finishes something ie a puzzle or reading a book or drawing etc he always says "Da da" very dramatically!!!

Well DD has started saying the same thing..it's sooo sweet

She also had her first bottle of soy milk at 3pm and thought she would hate it but she wolfed it down

LaT - do the art & craft threads have any ideas for photos?

LaTrucha · 25/11/2008 18:25

Thanks - those are good ideas.

More help needed.

Sabela seems to have her first cold. It's not very bad but she's a bit hot and snuffly. BUT she's refusing to eat. She's hardly had more than a few mouthfuls all day.I've tried the most tempting things I can think of. She will breast feed. Is this all I can do?

simpson · 25/11/2008 18:59

LaT - If all she wants is breast milk then i wouldn't worry at least she is having something iyswim.

I would keep offering food, maybe things you know she likes ie yogurt etc. Something cold from the fridge might soothe her throat if that is a bit sore as well

Poor Sabela

AngeChica · 25/11/2008 19:57

LaT haven't got so much DS news on work days as I feel I hardly see him

he has been clingy for childminder as well & has started to cry when I leave him... but he's ok as soon as I've gone apparently. Dropping to 2.5 days from next week which will be nice.

Neither DH or I have got the stomach to do CC in the night so have started cuddling him back to sleep. I feel this is a bit of a step backward but we will tackle it in the Christmas hols if he's still bad.

Even my scoffer was off his food when ill LaT. Only for a couple of days.

Oh dear Lily . We had a special place in the garden for departed pets as a child whether they were brought back from the vets or not. yes DS is very inquisitive and determined, and the back half of our house is not really childproof due to stalled kitchen works, so I have to follow him around all the time! Best thing is to get him to toddlers and soft play so he can zoom up and down church halls and expend lots of energy...

Midge25 · 25/11/2008 20:51

Hi all. Am new to this group so not very caught up with all of your news and happenings, but loving reading about where all our lo's are in terms of milestones/development. At the moment my dd can sit up unsupported for a long time...maybe 30 mins. Will reach far forward for a toy - has sometimes ended up on her chest! But hates tummy time - always has. As I say, is making no attempt to crawl, cruise or pull up. Have seen her roll over from front to back and back again, but it's rare as hen's teeth! Very vocal...lots of da da da, ma ma ma, gah, cah and gutteral sounds... She is also a big fan of coughing and sneezing, loves peekaboo, and 'dances' to music (bobs back and forth, laughing). She points, claps and bangs things together...just doesn't want to move from where she's sitting! 3 x teeth through in 3 weeks!! And mullet-like hair...bless. But it just goes to show that even though they're all born the same month, they're all at such different stages! What a bunch of cuties. DD is Eva, by the way.

One weird thing is that Eva used to weight bear if I held her under the arms on my lap when younger, but now she won't do it. Hmm.

Midge25 · 25/11/2008 20:53

Dunno about the tree. We moved when Eva was 4 months and this will be our first Xmas here and with baby! Haven't found a place for the tree to go yet...might have to suspend it from the ceiling and call it 'art'! Maybe all the lights and baubles will get the dd on the move...might put it up now!

madmouse · 25/11/2008 20:54

Lily, how did dcs take it?

Ange I have been cuddling Nathan back to sleep as I feel the time is wrong for cc, as I am going to work pt from Monday. But I seem to make things worse as he seems less and less able to be alone in bed, so I am taking dh's advice (which he put into practice at 3.30am bless him) and comfort Nathan without picking him up. He and Nathan have this thing going where Nathan holds dh's finger while sucking/chewing on another finger and stroking dh's finger with his thumb. so cute.

LaT Nathan was poorly for a week and only wanted bm, I was glad I was still bf, I am sure he would ahve endlessly chucked up formula. He recovered his appetite and set about putting his weight back on quickly, as he was very hungry for a few days when better.

Been out today to buy cycling gear for Nathan, as dh hopes to cycle him to the childminder. even the smallest helmet is still a bit too large but we can make it fit.

Look at this here cute or what.

still very tired, nathan has never slept this badly before and I keep going to bed late as I am so tired and there seems to be little point. hope it ends soon

Amani, hurray you are back, was worried you had been scared off

re wedding album: keep it very simple, pay attention to how you divide pictures on a page, how you set them off against each other rather than do fancy things with coloured paper, that tends to date.

madmouse · 25/11/2008 20:57

it's the red one with caterpillars by the way

Lilyloo · 25/11/2008 21:07

evening all

thanks for messages for Lottie , dc didn't take it very well had lot's of tears.

LaT i would just stick with bf if that's all she wants but still offer some 'easy' food as Simpson said!

Lucky we have had lot's of different creams for dd from docs on prescription would reccomend going to docs and trying them out. Hope knee isn't anything serious.

MM how cute going on the bike bet he will love that.

Gingeme well done on getting some of the xmas pressies out of the way. DS has now changed his mind bit tough as i have already got it!

Amani welcome back and great to hear dd eczema has got better!

Simpson great news about the soya milk hope it is ok!

Countess lovely pic of ds
