BDQ We've got one of those too! Had it for ds and now Mia loves it, so good to have somewhere to put her other than the floor, she is getting much better at moving around, wouldn't exactly call it crawling but she seems to be able to get to where she wants to go.

g43 your lo is gorgeous! I think you should get free m&s clothing though, he looks so cute!

TJuice · 10/11/2008 18:21

libra - so sorry to hear about your cat. mine died about six years ago and i still feel sad and sometimes even think i see her, when i catch sight of something black on the end of the bed . . . .

ThePenguinProject · 10/11/2008 18:25

Thank you for setting up the thread Sponge, I know I'm a bit late, just catching up... It was lovely meeting you today, Alex is gorgeous and so cuddly.

Waves at P&P, it was great to meet you too and have a beautiful baby girl for all the baby boys to fight over.

LL - Sorry about your cat, sounds like s/he had a wonderful long life with you. Like TJuice I often still think I see my cat out of the corner of my eye (she died a couple of months ago).

BDQ - LOL at the hangover. Dreamfeed did not make R sleep any better, if anything it was worse. He sleeps absolutely fine without it now. (Essie - If R wakes in the night and the dummy isn't enough, I always just feed.)

AbHiker - Thanks for the bf-ing reassurance. Scared to admit that whilst half of me is devastated, there is a bit of me that is actually looking forward to going back to work. (Hot coffee, adult conversation, solo toilet trips, wearing clothes that aren't bf friendly, incl normal bras!)

Essie - Would love to see you and E. When are you back in London?

Essie3 · 10/11/2008 18:42

Penguin Back in London on Friday but who is E?

bitofadramaqueen · 10/11/2008 18:45

Evening all. Hope you London ladies all had a good time.

Katyjo S is really enjoying his groove station, and I've been quite impressed that he can move all the way round in it already.

LL Sorry about your cat - hope you're doing ok.

I'm still deliberating on the dream feed. Questions for anyone FF - how many oz's did/does your LO take? S has 4 feeds between 7 and 7 of 7 oz's then his dream feed at 10.30 where he usually only takes about 3 oz's (although occasionally he guzzles a full 7 oz's). If I drop the dream feed (bearing in mind that he's not weaning) is that enough milk?

If anyone FF and not doing dream feed I'd be really interested to hear how much/when bottles your LO taking.

Sorry, will stop being so self-centred. Thanks to all who linked to car seat websites. Had a chat with DH and given these credit crunching times I think we're going to take the car seat with us after all.

bitofadramaqueen · 10/11/2008 18:51

LL how's Luke's feeding today? I just wanted to say that S has gone through phases of not drinking so much - the other week he was losing a bottle a day because he was leaving so much. The HV was completely unconcerned because his weight was fine. If he doesn't finish a bottle now I just leave it. Whenever I tried to get him to finish one he didn't want he just threw it up!

spongebrainbigpants · 10/11/2008 19:10

BDQ, Alex is FF - his feeding has gone up and down over the weeks. For the last few weeks he's gone down from seven bottles, to six bottles, to five bottles - and he's now back up again to seven!!

We make up about 7 ozs but he doesn't always take that. Up until three weeks ago he was sleeping through the night but now he feeds at roughly the following times: 3am, 7.30am, 9.30am, 12pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm.

We've tried dream feeding and it's never worked for us!

However, as us London ladies were discussing today - all the babies are so different! Alex does take alot of milk and has always had a big appetite so I did worry a little when he dropped down to five bottles. But he still seemed happy in himself and didn't lose any weight so I relaxed about it. He has always followed the 75 centile for his weight - he's a very cuddly little boy!!

PP, thank you, it was lovely to meet you and little Ryder today too - and P&P, HH and Amber. I'm looking forward to cuddles with the babies next time!

Thanks for that sponge - we've been lucky in that S dropped the middle of the night feed quite a while ago. He feeds at 7am, 11am, 2.30pm, about 6.30 and then dream feed at 10.30. Gina would be so proud

debinaustria · 10/11/2008 19:17

Glad you had a good meet up London ladies.

TJuice - saw you sneak on before - how are things with you?

debinaustria · 10/11/2008 19:18

Everyone - you must check out Tjuice's photos - they are fabulous! Your lo is gorgeous Tjuice and soooo much hair - lol.

debinaustria · 10/11/2008 19:19

Sponge - you said you're looking forward to cuddles with the babies next time - sounds like you were cuddling the other Mums instead!

Amberc · 10/11/2008 19:25

It was great to meet pureeandpearls and sponge today at last and nice of them both to make sure they were recognised by wearing big pants and some puree (sorry PMSL at own joke).

Luke's feeding goes up and down on a weekly basis - at the mo he is having 6-7 oz a feed at 5.30ish 9, 12, 3, 5, 6.30 and 11.30 - some kind of weird growth spurt thingamyjig unless he's just a greedy f*cker! Actually he only had 4oz at 6.30 today but he had a whole 7 at 5.30 so within 1 hour he had 11 oz - where does it go? No wonder his nappies weigh half a stone each!!

Amberc · 10/11/2008 19:30

TJuice - excellent photo with the afro!! You are far too glamorous a preggers lady though - very - check out my photo of 38 weeks in a tatty old pair of £5.99 trackie bottoms from Lillywhites! You - yummy mummy, me - super slummy.

spongebrainbigpants · 10/11/2008 19:39

Lol Deb!! Hmm, could have worded that better! Although slightly concerned that Amber noticed the size of my pants!!

TJuice, gorgeous photos - and I'll 2nd what Amber says about the yummy mummy-to-be photos!

BDQ, Alex dropped his night feed at five weeks and picked it up again at nineteen!! Hope S doesn't follow suit!

pureeandpearls · 10/11/2008 19:51

God I'm knackered- had a mare of a journey home, babaypearls delighted our carriage by screaming blue murder for her tea as we sat helplessly between two stations for 25 minutes and then not a single one of the bastards helped me up the stairs with the pushchair!!

Still, home and tucked up in bed (babyp, not me...yet!) after a splendid lunch- I do sooo love adult conversation (not so sure the table of older ladies was too thrilled by our presence but bollocks to them.)

Great to meet Sponge, Hedgehog, Amber and Penguin at Giraffe (sounds like I had one too many diet cokes...)and to put both names and faces to the, er, names. Don't suppose I'll ever see any of you again now that you know the pearls are just a front for a bollocks-to-that slummy mummy.

Big hello to T- been keeping up to date with your photos o Facebook.

LL- sorry about your cat. Not a cat person but just the thought of ever having to lose our psycho dog has me in floods so can imagine how upset you must be. Send you hugs

Did I miss anyone?

spongebrainbigpants · 10/11/2008 19:58

P&P, so sorry to hear about your journey home . She was such an angel at lunchtime too! I didn't notice the old ladies sat near us - but as you say, bollocks to them! I thought all the babies were very well behaved considering they had to sit on our laps or in the buggies for nearly three hours!!

OP posts:
debinaustria · 10/11/2008 20:29

Sponge - you must have had quite a visible panty line!!!

Puree - you missed me!

spongebrainbigpants · 10/11/2008 20:37

Deb, thanks!!!! I had quite small pants on today actually - is that TMI?!!

OP posts:
bitofadramaqueen · 10/11/2008 20:39

Sponge at thought of picking up night feed again at 19 weeks. I think S is 18 weeks now, so fingers crossed over the next week. Maybe I should just stick with the dream feed after all...

Amberc sorry that Luke's feeding going up and down. S has followed his routine pretty solidly since about 8 weeks. He's had the occasional random feed, but I don't think he's ever been fed more than every 3-4 hours.

P&P what a nightmare journey. Sending evil karma thoughts to your companions.

debinaustria · 10/11/2008 20:47

I think that's tmi Sponge!!

ThePenguinProject · 10/11/2008 20:49

Essie - I meant to type I for Iestyn but obviously got confused and put E for Essie instead!

P&P - What a nightmare home and how mean that no one helped you. Slummy Mummy suits me perfectly! Giraffe is very well known for being very baby friendly so if the ladies were silly enough to go there... So baby friendly that when I booked for 6 Mums and babies they asked whether we'd like 6 high chairs set up or just room for 6 pushchairs.

Bargain Alert: Popped into WHSmith on the way home and Glamour magazine is giving away free Nails Inc nail polishs with the mag. Bargain as I normally pay about £10 a bottle.

AliPalli - Are you around? I have sent you a text...

ThePenguinProject · 10/11/2008 20:53

Amber - PMSL at your joke and you laughing at it yourself. Say you always recognise me because I'm a short waddling bird and there'll be trouble though.

aberdeenhiker · 10/11/2008 20:57

hello everyone! We've another offer on our house so we're sitting here with crossed fingers hoping this one goes through. (And freaking as we haven't found a place to buy yet - but I'm sure we'll sort that out - much better to be a buyer than a seller in this market!)

I can't even see out of one eye today as both Fraser and I have conjuntivitus! Uggh! Anyways as he's generally under the weather I should get to sleep before the nighttime waking starts. Sorry to not respond to anyone here - I skimmed through but will try to read more carefully later!

Amberc · 10/11/2008 21:03

I just posted on a home birth scary thread in a slightly negative way. They are going to slaughter me aren't they?
