LauraT · 08/11/2008 16:57

hi everyone, have just spent about 45 minutes catching up and have forgotten what I was going to say. will try and think of something and write an interesting post next time.

neenz am having the same problem with C she won't take a bottle at all this week and previously had no problem. am a bit as she'll need to take one for nursery in february, so will have to persist!

bitofadramaqueen · 08/11/2008 17:01

Hi everyone, marking my spot and saying thanks all for links for car seat companies. Will check these out tomorrow! Off to get ready for big night out! My p's will have the baby monitor tonight and they're looking after S in the morning

poppy34 · 08/11/2008 17:21

thanks sponge - marking this post... will post more later when had chance to catch up on the breath taking pace at which we chat

Neenztwinz · 08/11/2008 17:50

Laura, we are going to give the bottle thing a real go next week cos DH is off work. After the DTs go to bed at 7pm they often wake 2-3 times between 8-10pm, so we are only going to offer them a bottle, nothing else. Usually I feed them and they go back to sleep but i don't think they are actually hungry, it is just habit. So either they take the bottle or have nothing. Fingers crossed.

Yes we chat a lot more now our LOs are a bit older.

Parofleurmapu · 08/11/2008 18:58

FiveGoMadInDorset · 08/11/2008 22:43

Hello all found you.

Just a quick one, 24 hours on Infasoy, poos are now getting solid and once a day rather thn every nappy being diarria (sp) mucus in nose (according to HV a cold) has magically disappeared. Excma (sp) or cradle cap according to HV has gone. HV crap, so will not be going to her again ever, full stop. 7 weeks we have been going through this because this is normal sorry been out bit pissed and ranting. Will be coming on MN to find out about tips to wean a lactose intolerant baby but having thought about it it shouldn'e be too hard.

Oh and nice to see you guys on other threads.

hedgehog1979 · 08/11/2008 22:57

Evening all, Uploaded some new photos and captioned some of the other ones for you.

5gomad sorry you are having a bad time. Hope things cheer up for you soon

neenz we went for a while without giving Isaac a bottle and he wouldn't take it if he could see me but when I left the room he wolfed it down, so this might work for the twins

Off to bed shortly - but still got one more badge to go on DH's uniform

Ohhh, and thanks for all the messages, re read my post and sounded like I was bragging a bit, but when I found out I was pg and found the antenatal thread here I felt that I had nothing to chat about and didn't want to bring everyone down so to where I am now is a massive improvement.

Parofleurmapu · 08/11/2008 23:28

Evening Very quiet on here this eve. Suppose lots of bonfire nights and fireworks no?

5gomad - glad there is a solution, sorry its taken sooo long. My best friends baby is 9mths and is lactose intolerant I can ask her some tips if you like she might even chat with you as she prob could do with someone to chat with who goes through same thing

Fab pictures HH love the newspaper one!

libralady · 08/11/2008 23:31

Willtry and catch up at some point. A bit upset tonight as we've just had to take my last cat to the vets to be put to sleep tonight. I've had him since he was 13 weeks old and he turned 18 in September.
I am gutted

debinaustria · 09/11/2008 07:51

LL - So sorry to hear about your cat, ((hugs))

HH - great photos, caption on the baby mat one sounds like she went in tumble drier!! Good job we know better!

5gomad - at least you know what the problem is now and you can adapt , it would have been good to have it diagnosed before but at least now S is already beginning to improve and you can make al the necessary changes.

Paro - no bonfire or fireworks here either , will wait for New Years eve for them.

Laura - it won't be devastating if your lo doesn't take the bottle, by Feb she could take a cup. When I went back to work after ds2 - he was 6 months old and wouldn't take a bottle either, the CM fed him from a spoon the 1st couple of days and then got him onto a cup.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 07:57

Morning all.

Sorry about last night.

LL sorry about your cat, I hate it when things like that happen

Laura second Debs with the cup, as soon as we started weaning DD we introduced a 2 handled cuip with spout to drink from and she loved it.

Well breakfasts are cooking, DC's still in bed (they both had a late night last night) and then off to the parade in local village. Have a good Sunday all.

Amberc · 09/11/2008 08:48

Morning all. Had a rubbish night. Luke really unsettled - woke up at 4.45 and has been awake since then and has munched through 14oz of milk by 0830! Weirdly he did a poo this morning that looked like it came out of a solids baby (I have not fed him anything for ages now!). Babies are strange I should stop trying to analyse (especially the poos!!).

LL - I missed the cat comment - what happened?

Paro - the flavoured baby stuff sounds yum - especially chicken and chips!

HH - well done lass - see you tomorrow

poppy34 · 09/11/2008 15:36

do you reckon he is going through a growth spurt amber? mind you edie could eat for britain at the minute -we've done our swimming course this weekend which she mostly enjoyed (was a bit about being dunked under) but it does seem to have left her starving.

Amberc · 09/11/2008 15:53

Poppy He's 21 weeks today don't know whether there is a scheduled growth spurt for this time but I thought they were meant to sleep more as that's when their hormones do the growing. Hey ho - who knows - maybe i'll get him weighed this week. Are you coming tomorrow? Have lost the London meet up thread!

LL - just read about the cat - you poor thing I know how you feel as I am a cat person and have had cats all my life except for now. It's torture when a pet dies or is put to sleep and feels just as bad as a family member dying. You have to remember that they are probably in a lot of pain and their quality of life is not good. My old cat developed cat cerebral palsy and as much as we wanted to keep him and nurse him until he died naturally we couldn't bear to see him suffer and knew it was kinder to let him go to sleep in peace and not wake up again. Made me quite tearful writing that .

poppy34 · 09/11/2008 17:11

LL sympathies for you re the cat

amber sadly can't make it as got friend who is about to drop coming over...dunno about sleepign but I thought it was usually they get dead hungry adn then get dead sleepy....

bitofadramaqueen · 09/11/2008 17:25

Hi everyone. Am still very hungover, so not even going to attempt to join in chat properly as I'll just get everyone and everything mixed up .

Would welcome your thoughts on S's dream feed though... My p's had him last night and didn't give him his dream feed (apparently he wouldn't wake up, I think my p's didn't quite understand the concept of 'dream' feed ). The result? For the first time ever, he slept from 7pm till 6.30am!!! So, do I try skipping the dream feed again?

He really didn't sleep well during the day at all yesterday, so not sure how much his lack of dream feed impacted things. He certainly wasn't starving this morning - he only took about 5oz's initially and had to really try and persuade him to take the other two. Oh, he's not on solids at all yet so I hadn't really planned to drop the dream feed till then Gina-stylee!

spongebrainbigpants · 09/11/2008 19:06

Hmm, our London meet up thread appears to have been deleted . Are we not allowed to post about meet ups on line? Very weird!

Amber, interesting what you say about Luke and a possible growth spurt - Alex had 28ozs of milk between 4am and 11.30am this morning! After weeks of total disinterest in his day time feed he is now hungry again.

libra, so sorry to hear about your cat .

5gomad, at your HV for not taking your concerns seriously. Glad you've got to the bottom of it now. My bro is lactose intolerant and he doesn't have too many problems eating a balanced diet but don't know anything about what he eats.

HH, loved the photos!

BDQ, can't really help re: dream feed. We occasionally try it with Alex but it seems to make sod all difference to how well he sleeps!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 19:11

Paro that would be great, do you want my email address?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/11/2008 19:12

HV also told a friend that her baby would be a dwarf as she was only on 25th percentile at her 8 month check, am going to try and get GP to do it, if I do it at all.

But enough about that.

So Diana to win x factor, but who for Strictly.

spongebrainbigpants · 09/11/2008 19:13

Oh, forgot to say, we went to the footie yesterday - great match as our team won 3-0. Picture on profile will show you how much Alex enjoyed it!!

Paro, your ellaroo - did you go for the sling or the wrap? I'm still looking for something to use instead of my babybjorn.

OP posts:
spongebrainbigpants · 09/11/2008 19:14

5gomad, x-posted. I want Austin to win Strictly - Tom is far too smug for me, and I just think Austin is lovely and very talented!

OP posts:
Amberc · 09/11/2008 19:31

I would like Alexandra to win X Factor - I never understood what anyone saw in Laura - I thought she sounded awful! I also want Austin to win strictly - the other one has a funny shaped face .

PS Luke has now had 41oz of milk today and not even at the dream feed yet. He fell asleep at 6ish so I've put him to bed. That probably means another 5am start tomorrow. Got that BCG injection tomorrow - has everyone else had it?

PPS re dream feed. We didn't do it one night and had a mare as he just woke at 1am instead starving and it didn't add any hours onto the sleeping. You could be lucky though.

Amberc · 09/11/2008 19:37

PPPS talking of child modelling - clearly I think my Luke is the most beautiful baby in the world and Essie and Alix both fancy him so he must be gorgeous. What do you need to do to start off? Do you need to send the agency a picture? Does it need to be professional? Luke sometimes gets a spotty chin from dribbling does that matter or do they airbrish it out?!

PiggyPenguin · 09/11/2008 20:00

Just adding a message to get this on my thread.

Although whoever was talking about chicken pox at the end of last week, there is a two week incubation period, so if they have just come out in spots, it means they were infectious two weeks ago.

Also, talking of poo consistency (5gomad I think) Jamie's are really runny, and he has a few in a day. DOes anyone else have this still? Obviously he is on a completely liquid diet still so I assume it is fine, but thought I would just ask.
