Amber, thought your point about us not being very well designed to give birth made a lot of sense!

I was thinking just the other day about evolution and Darwin's theory. I was BFing Theo and I just thought 'what a miracle - How can we have evolved into such amazing beings from bacteria?'

And what came first, a BFing mother or a child who was Bfed? I think the 'God created the world' theory makes a lot more sense!

I was even thinking maybe I should start an AIBU thread about it but don't know if I am brave enough cos they always kick off. Maybe next week...

debinaustria · 11/11/2008 10:46

HH - thank you in advance of the cream teas - I'm a clotted cream and jam but no butter girl!

Can't stop as christmas shopping online in preference to housework or decorating.

Parofleurmapu · 11/11/2008 10:55

Im now on hold and i am 28th in line!!!!!

goingfor3 · 11/11/2008 10:56

Morning all,

We had a better night last night. DS seemed more settled - I gave him porridge before bed - and DD1 has stopped throwing up!

DS has no interest in his playgym anymore so I bought him the leapfrog playstation to stand in. SOmeone on this thread linked to it and it was 25% off in Argos, I think dp is goint o kill me as it's huge and still quite pricey. I'm going to put away the playgym and bumbo to clear some space!

Parofleurmapu · 11/11/2008 10:56

oooh now 9th!!!

bitofadramaqueen · 11/11/2008 10:57

Paro let me know how you get on with dropping dream feed. We're off to Londontown on Thur so I may try it when we get back.

Amberc · 11/11/2008 10:59

Para - Oh my god - I am trying to find your Thomas Cook number - so annoying - try [email protected]

Parofleurmapu · 11/11/2008 11:04

Amberc · 11/11/2008 11:11

G43 - I want that too but there are none in stock - you must have got the last one!!

goingfor3 · 11/11/2008 11:12

Amber I got the last one in my store. I really hope he likes it! HAve storted out the living room and will put it togethre now.

Amberc · 11/11/2008 11:27

They have one in Luke's nursery and he and the other baby a couple of weeks older love it so very age appropriate! They like to chew on the microphone.

Amberc · 11/11/2008 11:28

PS - decided not to have a lie down when I finally got Luke off to sleep for a nap as I thought it would make me feel worse and he would probably only be asleep for 20 mins. an hour and a half so far - typical!

goingfor3 · 11/11/2008 11:33

That's so frustarting when they do that!

poppy34 · 11/11/2008 12:19

I know gofor3 and when you do give in to sleeping at same time , its only 20 minutes

amber have drawn fire for you by joining in a thread on AIBU...it has made me really quite cross ...

whinegums · 11/11/2008 12:34

Flippy neck, 6 pages of posts already!!!

Paro, glad you accepted my dare, but disappointed to see the militants avoided it! I might post something inflammatory on it this evening to bump it and see what happens . DP is away again (up your way AberdeenH) so I'll have to find something to amuse myself.

Dummies - B has his to settle to sleep, and sometimes if he wakes I can just put it back and he goes off again. Don't think that it coming out wakes him now, as he can sleep without it, but putting it back helps IYKWIM. He does spit them out through the bars of the crib which is a pain, so I take several to bed. Anyway, I'm going to stick with it for a bit longer, but I know we use it too much during the day, so will be trying to reduce daytime use first.

BDQ - I try and do a dream feed, but I don't think it makes any difference - B wakes almost exactly every 3 hours for a feed. I put him down between 7 and 8pm, so he feeds again around 10.30, 1.30 and 4-5. He is taking less at 1.30 and 5 feeds, if only he would drop one of them, I would be v happy.

Weaning going well so far and B enjoying it I think. I'm only doing baby rice, fruit and veg, and it is all going down. Spent yesterday afternoon steaming, sieving and freezing - strangely satisfying.

Katyjo, I have got a Waterbabies place - hurrah! It's 12.30 on Tuesday, just before your class I think, so maybe we'll see you there.

hedgehog1979 · 11/11/2008 13:19

think mum got the playgym on amazon so maybe worth checking there what they have. Isaac is loving it at the moment, but might be because he has been without for so long!!
Just converted my pram to a pushchair, and popped him in to see if he fits.....he slipped out of the straps at their tightest so I think he will have to stay lying flat for a bit longer, which is a shame as I think he might like to be sitting up now.

Just thought I would copy this across as well just to keep us all up to date with where we all are
