Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hedgehog1979 · 14/11/2008 16:49

sa if it does then Isaac started 'solids' at the weekend as he ate the order of service for remembrance sunday, and then the map that I printed for the London Meet Up on Monday.

Is this BLW at it's best?

G43 so sorry to hear about DD1, no advice as a first time mummy here, but it must be hard for you with all of them.

Right must rescue Isaac from the sofa, where he has fallen asleep under a very luxurious throw, but has now woken up

Amberc · 14/11/2008 17:15

G43 I hope you find out what's ailing your Daughter - must be a terrible worry.

Luke has started banging things - that's new and shaking them around like a doggy!

PiggyPenguin · 14/11/2008 17:57

g43 that sounds really worrying, hope the dr is helpful and she gets better soon.

SA - love the sound of that purple fairy dress, although it would freak my dh out too. He was very twitchy when ds1 wanted a pram and dolly when dd was born and we had to buy the most boy-ish onw we could find.

goingfor3 · 14/11/2008 18:15

Thanks for all your concerns about dd1. Her temp shot up to 40.8 so I took her to the dr's. She has a really nasty urine infection, there was loads of protein and blood in her urine sample. I feel so bad that I didn't realise earlier. She had the smae sickness symptoms as her friends but they got better and she didn't so I guess she developed the uti after the sickness bug. She has some antibiotics so hopefully they will work.

systemsaddict DS is a paper chewer too, he also loves sucking baby wipes! SO much for the carefully planned organic diet!

debinaustria · 14/11/2008 20:00

G43 - sorry to hear that your dd is unwell , hope the antib's work soon.

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 20:52

Well mixed day here very busy.

Took Fleur to drs and no ear infection, quite a bit of wax could be causing probs was asked if she had any fever only yesterday at 7pm when it was 38.5 not exactly major fever and only that one time. Sent us off to hospital to get UTI test, we got there and its in emergency dept 50 people waiting in end saw dr who said only one time fever prob teething but we can put cathether in wait for sample and analyse youll prob be here for 4 hrs so (bad mummy icon) we decided to go home Though i think we did right we will monitor fever over wkend and if still high go back and have tests done
Hope weve done the right thing
So insted of going to hospital we went shopping and bought fleur a activity station similar to fisher pric one its arriving on Tues

Also HV said i was giving fleur all wrong food and feeds again and that i was to give her 1 bottle in am of 240ml and 1 at night of 240ml and that was it no more only solid food during day arrrgghh she made me feel really bad again

G43 Sorry bout your DD hope she is better soon

Fungle It was me re period pains as mine are awful now and werent b4

WB Sybil!

Oh and Link for BDQ but anyone else too This is the website for those weaning pots i was on about their other stuff is fab too Sarobaby The pots are have are the brightly coloured ones look like balls!!! they come with a really good spoon too

Well sorry long post and rant about nothing really just had to get it off chest Off to down some glasses of lambrusco xxx

Amberc · 14/11/2008 20:53

G43 at least you know what it is now and can start treating it.

RANT ALERT: On another note, I never bother reading the other sections really other than childbirth as it's the only thing I have a bit of experience of! However I have looked at the AIBU threads and there seems to be a MN Mafia of bullies. It's always the same people each time and they are really horrid to posters. I admit some of the things people post about are a bit much sometimes but they have every right same as everyone else. I have read posts telling people to fuck off (a lot), calling them sickos, morons, twats, run off back to bounty and close the door behind you etc. What's wrong with these people? I feel like writing a thread myself about bullying and the pack mentality and how they wouldn't talk to people like that in real life. Isn't it awful and aren't you glad that we have each other on this thread? I wonder who these people are - it seems they are the same people on every thread so maybe they don't have jobs and just sit on MN waiting to be controversial. RANT OVER.

Amberc · 14/11/2008 20:57

Paro - hope fleur is OK. Those pots are lovely by the way. I do like it when people put up the links as usually sites I'd never find myself. The activity mats are fab!

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 22:01

Heya Amber

Thanks Fleur is perfectly fine thats why we decided not to do all the hospital stuff, she has nothing worng except one off fever, biting ear pulling and a severe nappy rash as 5 go mad said it sounds like teething so we shall see

Those pots are fab, i really reccommend them i have used them in microwave in boiling water nad they keep food hot whilst out and about and so small they fit in any bag In fact i think they are my best buy ever for fleur

RE your rant I really agree with you same people wont name and shame but can name bout 5 ive complained to musnet last time that bottle feed thread but it doesnt seem to do anything now i just keep my head down

Off to catch up on eastenders on my new toy my Ipod !!

libralady · 14/11/2008 22:13

I really cannot keep up with you guys. I feel I am slowly sinking with everything that is going on in my life at the moment.
I miss hearing ehat everyone is getting upto but I don;t have the time (or the energy) to catch up every night. I may just slink away for good.

debinaustria · 14/11/2008 22:35

No don't go LL, just keep popping in when you can. How did your week go?

poppy34 · 14/11/2008 22:43

sorry haven't a chance to catch up but will -don't slink off ll - your part of the gang too -in fact at the front as you're just in teh position a lot of us are going to be in shortly going back to work.

Just back from first night out with proper babysitter (who was sooo lovely - 4 kids and midwife so edie's minxy tricks were no bother) - went to see quantum of solace -not really my cup of tea (dh loved it) but nice to have an adult evening ..

right off to read over properly

debinaustria · 14/11/2008 22:45

glad you had a good time and babysitter was a success

debinaustria · 14/11/2008 22:46

poppy I couldn't find your other thread about blocked ducts/mastitis? How are you?

I have the familiar red patch back today!

poppy34 · 14/11/2008 22:56

thanks deb - the threads were here (take it you mean the original ones) -and sorry to hear you're suffering (For whats it worth mine never really went that red/sore..was just a lump which was what was so weird).

link

Incidentally I've had the lump so long shall I name it?

katyjo · 14/11/2008 22:56

SA lol about C eating paper! Mia ate part of my magazine the other day (bad mummy it wasn't even a good one, just a gossip mag I'm a bit addicted )

Hedgehoge That's what I call a hunger for historical knowledge!

G43 Glad you found out what was wrong with dd, and she is on the mend, why are you feeling guilty?

Paro Your hv sounds a bit of a hitler, surely she should still get milk when she wants it, ds still had 3/4 milk feeds a day when he was 7/8 months I only cut it down to am and pm when he was a year! Do what you think is right.

Libra Keep posting, you can still keep up with the general chat only popping on from time to time, just lurk if you don't want to post noone will take offence.

Finally started Mia on solids today, she will be six months in 10 days time and she has been a bit more eager for food since the 'cake-gate incident'! I only gave her a wee bit of apple puree and it was quite tart so I didn't want to put her off. I think I'll try carrot tomorrow and build up from there.

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 23:00

LL please dont slink away when i go back to work i wont be able to catch up very much im out of the house from 7.30am to 4pm 5pm and then ill be with fleur so ill just be popping in and lurking but lurking s good

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 23:06

Poppy - just reading that thread again dont want to get personal but the daisy cow person is the one who got to me too.!! Very annoying operson i personally think thats if im allowed an opinion on mumsnet!!!!!!LOL

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 23:07

oooh and think you were very diplomatic with your answers!!

Essie3 · 14/11/2008 23:17

Evening all, back in London and rather tired. Maybe all the sneaky shopping I did... M&S have lovely wooden toys for little babies!
Paro love those pots - but can you get them in this country?
Amber I was chatting to a mum at the baby and toddler group whose baby sleeps on his tummy. (So did I - exclusively - and I'm still alive and well!) She's given up fighting it but has a breathing sensor. (Ours is fine now, with the plywood on the slats of the cot. )

Ali it's not my country estate but it's passed down the male line, and Iestyn already has his pony stabled there. And the angel wings - ahem, well, I made them! We were going to buy an angel babygro but decided they were too expensive for a photo (and I would hate trying to sleep with wings stuck on my back - although Luke would be ok, Amber!). So I zoomed in, and then went ahead with a bit of silk and some padding...voila! We're very blue peter here...

katyjo · 14/11/2008 23:25

Paro 'making her demand food to often' I've never heard that before, maybe if you locked her in the attic and didn't see her she wouldn't want so much food! Honestly some people!

Essie I must check out the toys in M&S!

Amber I missed your post about sleeping on tummies, but when Mia first started rolling from back to front she used to make a real fuss trying to get onto her stomach and get comfy at night and always ended up on her tummy. I have to admit that once or twice I put her down on her tummy as she settled better and she always slept that way anyway.

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 23:38

Hehe katyo!

Dont know essie thought there was a link to them in english

aarrrggh nice dress im bidding on on ebay and i keep getting outbid trying to find something decent to wear for xmas meal also have to buy wedding dress at some point!!!

Parofleurmapu · 14/11/2008 23:44

Essie cant find shops or websites in uk but im cooming over in xmas i could bring some over and post them to you or anyone else too

hedgehog1979 · 15/11/2008 09:16

morning all,

poppy hope things are clearing up for you

g43 Glad you have found out what was wrong with DD1

paro at HV, I thought that babies got all their nutrition from milk until they were a year old, but maybe things are different on the continent!!

LL don't go, just lurk, I am already thinking about how difficult it will be to keep up once I go back to work as I had it confirmed yesterday that I can go back 02/02/09 for 3 days a week

essie LOL at you and blue peter, I have thought that I was a bit too blue peter to be a mum (as i sit here MNing I have soap 'setting' that I have had to fix for the guides). Can I ask you a quick q - which popper do you have Iestyn's pop in's on, I cannot work out which one I need to have them on for Isaac and can find nothing to help me on t'internet.

Right must hoover as an old uni friend will be here later and I have just smashed a plate on the living room floor
