In honour of everyone who refuses to believe they are no longer babies (Pesha, NL and Dippy )

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sexonlegs · 21/11/2008 08:05

Ahh, thank you Liath and NL.

We did have the party which was a real treat, but that seems like years ago now!

I am usually ok, but last night I just felt so overwhelmed with sadness, probably due to tiredeness and feeling poorly. B had been particuarly difficult as well, and continues to be this morning. She is so obnoxious at times and I just feel like shouting f* off which is just awful

NorthernLurker · 21/11/2008 08:12

Got to go to work but just here quickly - SOL last night I was furious with dd2. I asked her to do something, then I asked her again and when I had to ask her a third time I completely lost it and shouted and shouted! Felt awful afterwards but we are so close to them that they are bound to drive us nuts sometimes. It's not like our partners who we chose to be with. Our children have all sorts of elements of us mixed up in their own independant package. Recipe for diaster really! I made it up with the girls before bed (dd1 got shouted at for no apparent reason and dd3 for having the temerity to pick up a felt pen)and this morning they bought me breakfast in bed! (lukewarm beans on lightly done toast )

oooggs · 21/11/2008 09:30

30 weeks today!!!!!!!!!! and hasn't it gone fast?

off for a hair chop in a mo

sol - you need some 'pink fizz' time

nl - hope you enjoyed breakfast

mj - hope the horrible pain has gone

CaptainDippy · 21/11/2008 11:17

How's the pain today MJ? xx

You need some TLC my sweet - you have been through a lot. I am glad your mum is home and praying she regains strength - slowly, but surely Give yourself space & time when you can - you are not Super Woman xx

Caz - you are mad!!

LOL @ oooggs pole-dancing - that tickled me

P took much longer than normal to settle for her nap, which wasn't nice ; but she is settled now & a friend is picking DD1 up from school so she can have a bit longer. Hoping it was just a one off.

cazboldy · 21/11/2008 11:28

sol - i think you have been coping amazingly well...... you really have been through a lot lately.... not surprising you are a bit frazzled! Can you spend time with your mum without the dc? My mum's friend (who is like a mum to her) has had a brain tumour (fingers crossed that the treatment is all going well atm) and mym Mum has really valued spending some time with her, and helping out with some menial tasks like washing/ironing, cooking, and even doing her nails and washing her hair for her etc

no number 6 would be a whimsical daydream - not a reality..... practicalities won't allow it!

Just had to go and pick up ds1 from school, with a headache, and he really is very pale...something is brewing(please don't let it be a sickness bug!)

Oooggs - Lol at you pole dancing! You sound just like me when I was pg with Charlie.... He was breech until 32 weeks and I was starting to panic - would be terrified if I had to have a c- section- and I even told the mw I would have a breech birth if it came to it! but suddenly in the middle of the night I woke up and was sick everywhere (sorry if tmi) and at my next appt he had turned so I think that was what had caused the sickness - felt like my whole stomach flipped over!

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2008 13:06

JS hope the pains stop soon. Could it be a muscle you've pulled or something like that?
SOL sorry you are feeling down. As everyone else has said itt's not surprising that you are overwhelmed after all you've been through lately. No advice sorry, just support
We had another fairly good night last night - he woke and cried a couple of times enough to wake me but both times had stopped while I was still dithering whether to go to him. Feel so much better for sleep and so does he - he wakes each morning in a lovely mood!
caz - I'll bet a virtual £10 you're pregnant again by the time oooggs and elkie have given birth!

Doobydoo · 21/11/2008 16:07

SOL...BE good to yourself. You must roll with it and let yourself feel. You have had a rollercoaster time.
JS..Hope you ok.
Caz
I am going to see docs to get a mole from my side removed.I t is annoying me and I start worrying.
Well that was interesting wasn't it?
Hope all are relatively ok!

Sexonlegs · 21/11/2008 16:38

Hi loves

Thanks again for your support; it means a lot

Oh God, just as I start typing, "Memories" from Cats comes on the radio - the song played at my Gran's funeral

Grrrrrrrrrr

Anyway,

JS, how are you feeling today? Sounds an odd pain. How is F now?

SPB, glad the nights seem to be getting better for you. Long may it last!

Dooby, good luck with the mole removal. How is dh's job hunt going?

NL, you have such wise words - thank you

Caz, how is your ds1? Hope it is nothing serious.

Hi Dippy, how are you today?

How is everyone else?

All ok here. Had a productive morning with B at school and K at nursery. Been to Arty Bobs this afternoon with K which she loved.

Had a quick trip to the park after school, but way too chilly Brrrrrrrr!

Bought an electric blanket today I have been going to bed with a fleece dressing gown on and still feeling chilled. Real passion killer!

Doobydoo · 21/11/2008 18:50

cazboldy · 21/11/2008 19:21

CaptainDippy · 21/11/2008 19:25

Evening all! DH away so me all lonesome

Sexonlegs · 21/11/2008 19:40

Evening

Oh Dooby, sorry the job hunting isn't going so well.

Dippy, where's dh then?

Dh off to the pub tonight so I can sit and watch crap TV!!!

K has learnt where the rubbish bin is. I opened the cupboard where it is kept and found a bowl in there - it had nothing in it, so she thought it was for binning!

cazboldy · 21/11/2008 19:42

Oh SOL Molly puts everything in the bin!

cazboldy · 21/11/2008 19:43

My horses are officially in their new stables

elkiedee · 21/11/2008 19:46

Evening all,

SOL, sorry to hear you're feeling down and tired etc, but it's not surprising that you are, really. I hope things pick up for you soon.

JS, sorry to hear you're feeling ill again.

It was our great expedition to Norfolk to take D to see dp's mum today, as she hadn't seen him since she went home from Ilkley at Christmas last year. Although it's half the distance, it was a longer, more complicated and more expensive journey than going to Yorkshire again will be (least I hope so). I think dp's mum enjoyed finally getting to see her grandson again, and her sister Daphne came too, as did my dad.

The pub where we'd booked to eat turned out to be less than ideal - bearing in mind that they took a booking with a toddler, when we got there we had to wait until the time when we'd booked a table for in an area full of tantalising looking fruit machines and a fire and all sorts, and were told we mustn't let D run around (!) I've only dissuaded dp from complaining because we may need to visit the place again, and his mum's home apparently takes them out there.

Still, ds enjoyed his meal and a certain amount of running around the train with grandad and dad chasing after him to see he came to no harm. The train to Leeds next month is going to be fun, isn't it? Wait till the crazy one discovers those automatic doors.

CaptainDippy · 21/11/2008 19:48

Dear y me Elkie - glad you are still all in piece, albeit a touch frazzled I should've thought!

Another bin-lover here

DH is away on a conference for work - boo!

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2008 20:09

cazboldy · 21/11/2008 20:19

Sexonlegs · 21/11/2008 20:35
