In honour of everyone who refuses to believe they are no longer babies (Pesha, NL and Dippy )

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2008 18:15

that sounds lovely Eddas - the christmas letters!
Yes I agree and we always end up having soup/pasta/pizza

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2008 19:36

There's never any food in this house to cook . The boys both eat their main meal at school/nursery so I tend to forget to shop . Having said that, M wanted fish and chips for tea so I stopped off at the co-op and have eaten properly for once

Fab sleeping news SPB , long may it continue

Off work again today, J very sleepy, not really eating and generally a right clingy little grump-bag . He's not going to the childminder tomorrow either but hopefully will be back at Nursery on Friday as I need to try and work at some point this week.

How's your mum SOL? Hopefully being home is helping her to recover quicker

Am getting quite excited about the possibility of coming to Glasgow now, if you'll all have me of course . There is a flight gets in at 0930 and another that leaves at 1800 which I figure gives me a great day out!

CaptainDippy · 19/11/2008 19:40

I bloomin' hate cooking too - grrr!

Father Christmas letters sound great Eddas - I am sure the children will love them!! You efforts are not in vain

Speaking of being a crap cook. We're having take away pizza for tea

geordieminx · 19/11/2008 19:47

've just had toast

StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2008 20:10

glad it isn't just me!
Sorry to hear J's unwell Pillock, hope he's better by Friday if not sooner

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2008 20:12

It's not stopping him from being a hyper little darling challenging

Pesha · 19/11/2008 20:19

Some days I hate cooking but sometimes I really enjoy it. Today I was in a cooking mood but unfortunately we have nothing in the house interesting to cook so we had jacket spuds with tuna mayo! We do eat a lot of pasta though because they all like it, its cheap and its easy!

SPB - YAY for T sleeping!!

Maveta - D nearly always wakes up crying, once or twice he hasn't but normally yes, screaming and crying. DD was lovely and would wake up and chat and babble to herself, it was soo sweet and a much nicer way to be woken up and she got a much nicer mummy coming in to get her!!

POTC - ha ha ha!! N was climbing out his cot at 17 months so had to go into a bed - you're going to have so much fun with J! Although J does seem a little calmer than N was.

Just read Yorkie's live birth thread and its made me all emotional, I want to do it again! I don't want 4 children (not enough room, money, patience and would have to get rid of my lovely car for a big ol' slow people carrier thing ) but quite at the thought I never get to do it all again iyswim. There are so many people pg or with new babies at the moment. Oh and was talking to someone today who is 15 weeks and apparemtly local hospital now has a big LCD TV screen on the wall for you to see your scan on instead of craning your neck to see the monitor and the 20 week scans have colours and things - now theres a reason to have another one if ever I needed it!!!

Jamie's car alarm just started going off and I was merrily sat here typing away thinking 'whose f**ing alarm is that, better not wake the dc!' His car is shafted, not sure if its just battery (although this is a new one so can't see it)or alternator or starter motor or something but we cannot afford to fix it which means he keeps using mine and I am carless. Theres always something isn't there?!

Pesha · 19/11/2008 20:21

Sorry, took a long time posting as I stopped to shut car up. My Ha ha ha to POTC was not about J being ill obviously

Sexonlegs · 19/11/2008 20:24

Evening ladies

Lots of chatting today!!!

POTC, poor J. Hope he is better soon Mum is ok I think - I haven't called since Monday night Kind of want to give them a bit of space.

Eddas, I think the santa letters sound a lovely idea The NSPCC are doing the same thing - you pay a fiver and a letter will be delivered in December sometime.

Hi Elkie, long time no see. Hope you are feeling ok.

SPB, hurrah for a great night!!!!! Long may it last.

Luce, not long to go then???

Hi to everyone else. Sorry- I don't seem to be able to remember as much these days - must be my age

All ok here. Been knocking back the nurofen today, so feeling ok atm.
K was hilarious today at Jo Jingles (music group) She stood in the middle of the room and pulled her jeans down. She was just stood there with them down by her ankles! Just like her mother father!

oooggs · 19/11/2008 20:25

I don't know where to start

sol - sorry you are feeling rough

eddas - hurray to new childcare/work very soon

luce - I don't think I am coping

ellie - hope J better soon

gm - nowt wrong with toast

maveta - money is a nightmare

NL - glad work going well

dippy - hope things improve with dh

katy - hurray to all that sleep

elkie - I can't get comfy either

bramshott - those nappies (not the pampers or the pull ups are great)
mj - hope you managed to get out of the door this morning with everything you needed

grobags - both dts can walk in them! Jack can get out of his! Jack is still in our room until Erin gets out of her 'scream in the middle of the night routine' or the loft is finished - whichever is sooner

I had a shit day at work so on the way home dropped into the hairdressers and now have an apt. to have hair cut short on friday am

fed up of being pregnant, cooking, cleaning, not be able to sleep, having builders in, dh working lots of hours, having no spare money, work, school run, food shopping.........

I feel a bit better now

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2008 20:25

I got well confused then, had to go find the thread, YORKY (who has just had a baby) is a very different person to YORKIE and I thought I'd missed major news!! Don't do that to me, I panic if I think I'm behind on the gossip

Pesha · 19/11/2008 20:26

Just looked on FB and have a friend request, we have 2 friends in common - my best bloke-mate's mum and his sister, vaguely recognised her but couldn't think how till I looked at her profile and saw her job details, she is the woman that delivers my parcels from Next!! Not sure I'd really class her as a friend, I don't order that much stuff, but what the hell?!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2008 20:28

Who are you trying to kid, your hallway is full of NEXT parcels

Sexonlegs · 19/11/2008 20:29

I was thinking Yorkie Girl. Is that not right? Her dh died didn't he a few years ago?

x-post Oooggs. Sorry you had a pants day. Have a large [hug] xx

x-post with Pesha too! pmsl at you wondering whose car alarm was going off!!! Has it stopped?

On the subject of food, I am not a great cook either. I just find you spend arsing hours preparing/cooking and it is eaten within 5 minutes!

oooggs · 19/11/2008 20:30

hi sol

pesha I missed your post too!! yes my scan was in full colour so it must be all over the country if it has got this far down south - I will pop up in the spring so you can have a cuddle, ride in a minibus people carrier and come to your senses about no. 4!!!!

Pesha · 19/11/2008 20:31

I obviously have chocolate on the brain!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2008 20:35

No, it's not YorkieGirl, that's what I thought, this poster is Yorky and not the same person, how confusing is that gonna get!

JellySnakes · 19/11/2008 20:43

Hi all. Popping in quickly before going off to make a lollipop man/lady out of a wooden spoon with clothes on for F to take to nursery tomorrow Oh the joys It is not going to look anything like it should!

Oooggs, not much longer to go now, I really feel for you with the uncomfortableness (is that a word?!) of it all. I can remember it and it wasn't any fun at all. Hope you are ok

I thought you were talking about Yorkiegirl too!
I feel the odd pang of sadness at never having a newborn moment ever again, and then I remember what having a newborn is really like and I snap out of it!!

Working again tomorrow so must go and get sorted before going to bed. Night all xxx

Pesha · 19/11/2008 20:43

Oooggs - I would LOVE for you to pop up for a cuddle in the spring but only if you bring the baby and I can cuddle them too! But it doesnt matter what you say to me, DP is never going to change his mind about another (unless I aksed him mid-shag, then he might just say yes!!) so its probably just as well I don't want one!

SOL - yes I was very clever and used all my mechanical skills to stop the car alarm by opening the car door for 5 mins

POTC - admittedly there are a lot of parcels but only because I ordered some new wall lights before we moved because they were half price but couldn't remember how many I needed so ordered 6 to be on the safe side but it turns out I only need 3! Although may now send the whole lot back!

oooggs · 19/11/2008 20:46

oh well pesha - I'm sure I can bring the children and you can cuddle them too!

liath · 19/11/2008 20:54

Poor Ooggs - you sound harrassed. Good luck with the hair cut!!

POTC - are you coming up for the 10th? That would be fantastic .

DH is at a course so I'm on my own this week. Worryingly I'm finding it easier than when he is here. Our relationship is a bit flat at the moment, I'm hoping it's just becuase the kids are so young & demanding . Sounds like a few of us are in the same boat TBH.

Maveta · 19/11/2008 20:57

evening!

Sorry you´ve reached the uncomfy nights stage Elkie and Oooggs, I remember it all too well! How far along are you both now?

Eddas - that´s a lovely idea re. the letters, the kids will be stoked.

POTC - hope j perks up again soon. Would be great to see you in Glasgow! I won´t be able to make a full day of it, think dh might leave me if I abandon him for more than a couple of hours on our only day ´alone´. But if you are up for coming it would be absolutely great to meet you! how exciting. The Thread PA herself!

Re. cooking, In general I like cooking but yeah I do find the monotony of having to think of something every night a bit of a chore. I tend to make loads of stuff and have the freezer full but then it´s the same variety of things in strict rotation til it´s all used up! He also eats a great meal at nursery so that takes the pressure off, his fave dinner is chicken stock with the tiny little noodles in it he could eat bowls and bowls of the stuff. So that´s easy!

geordieminx · 19/11/2008 21:03

Maveta - have you not told your dh that he is looking after all of the april babies whilst we do coffee and cake??

No worries about it being a full day, tbh C gets fed up of being good and calm and well behaved after 5 minutes a hour or 2, coffee and cake would be grand!

Pesha · 19/11/2008 21:11

If theres cake and no DC then I might just have to hop on a plane and come too!!!

Eddas · 19/11/2008 21:14

oh craaaaaaaaaaaaaaap! Just been to the meeting of new parents and dd doesn't start school til 12th Jan. Pre-school finished 12th dec so she'll have an entire month of nothing. And 2 weeks of half days before she may start full time depending on if she's ok. She better bloody be ok!!!!!!!!!!! so my new work plans won't start til nearly feb now

sorry for the entirely self-absorbed post
