Very nice Storm, though you realise it will lead to more confusion don't you?

Don't let that stand in your way though, we need a challenge!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/11/2008 11:54

That should have said Very nice, Butterfly

Because I am the chairperson of the sewers group in my department and I am in charge of improving our sewer model (mathematical model, not bits of pipes and stuff full of sh%t!)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/11/2008 12:44

Phew! Our washing machine started with an alarm noise and a flahing message saying drain blockage! But DH managed to look up on the internet what to do, and has manually drained the machine and cleared out the drain filters and it is working again now

Oh we look at movement of radioactive material through the sewer and sewage treatment works. So we say X amount is put down the drain, and of that X% will "stick" to the sewer wall and the rest will go into the sewage treatment works, and Z% will go into the solid sludge and the rest will go into the liquid part etc. From this we can calculate doses to workers and also to members of the public from discharge of the cleaned liquid and from use of sewage sludge on agricultural land, or from incineration of sludge.

When DH had his shoulder scanned they injected him with isotopes and it came out in his wee. In the hospital they had a loo for radioactive waste only, but given he had 2 hours to kill in York before he went back to the hospital, he distributed a fair bit into the sewers. (TMI)

Just took the boys to a victorian xmas market in a tiny village nearby.. There was a jewellry stall with handmade earrings for £1, so I gave DS1 a pound and said would he like to buy some earring for someone for xmas. He chose some for Granny MEN! Off to church later - busy day here, be glad when it's tomorrow.

sorry to be dim but I don't know what a butterfly effect is

Sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory
I like it

DD has a party to go to. DH has gone to sleep in an attempt to avoid it but no way is he getting away with it.

Love the new name Butterfly, although I was very fond of Storm. I had a vision of you in a white catsuit with flowing white locks as in X-Men

Been mad busy here. DS1 turned 7 yesterday. DD1 is 4 tomorrow. Have had fun baking and decorating cakes, had a party for DS mates. It was a lot of fun, but DP was working away so was me on my tod with 10 7yo boys. Luckily the weather was great, so they spent most of it in the garden.

Better crack on with tomorrows festivities

not surprised you wanted to enjoy your chocs and cava in peace foxy. well done!

I have just taken my 3 and DS1s friend to church. and someone said, "hello, I see you've brought your playgroup again". so much for "the welcoming church". I feel like shit now, for daring to go (a bit over-sensitive I now, but DS1 acted like a complete brat again)

I am frustrated cos DH is in tonight so I can't do my workout DVD when the kids are in bed.

congratulations on your AF jammy. FWIW I am having the worst since my implant went in in Sept 07.

WobblyWallpaper · 16/11/2008 19:25

I like it!
Sputnik by the way. We survived the party.
I feel like a bit of name silliness tonight.

NattyTomAndEllen · 16/11/2008 19:25

ria i know what u mean church is stressful. i am SO lucky to have a special sound proof booth in my church, with three mini rows of benches... perfect! the kids can shout and they only ppl it disturbs are the other parents with naughty children.
nether the less i am looking forward to the time when i can "re-entrigate" with the rest of the church

i am eating a super yummy chicken caserole... yummy!

NattyTomAndEllen · 16/11/2008 19:35

ok my day today..
i got up and me and kids all got in bath together (sunday morning ritual.. dont ask!) ate brekkie (porrige with banana) in our towels, then got church clothes on, brushed hair, and its the only day of the week i bother to put makeup on!
jumped on bus to church, and got there early enough to get a better seat in our booth.
mass was good, stopped for coffee in the hall, b4 making my way to my friends house to recover my casorole dish (i dropped one into her as she had been in hospital)
came home, we had lunch. then played trains for a few hours till dinner. made dinner, and was then time for baths and bed.

and today i realised.. that all those years i spent in school dreaming of my family and nice sundays together.. ive finally got that now.
i suppose im trying to say, i am happy today lol and we did nothing but live

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/11/2008 19:41

SOunds like a nice day Natty.

I had a big clear out and tidy up. We finally have space in the corner of the dining room now to put some coat hooks up and hang all our coats, jackets, scarves and bags up out of the way instead of having them draped all over the shoe rack in the hallway. No more having to hunt through the whole pile when I'm looking for a particular jacket, or heaven forbid need a pair of shoes from the top level of the shoe rack. And three large boxes of stuff to go to the charity shops

WobblyWallpaper · 16/11/2008 19:43

That sounds lovely Natty.
LOL at the soundproof booth, sounds very practical (wish I had one in my living room actually!)

NattyTomAndEllen · 16/11/2008 19:45

hi again (bedtime and me visiting my mum alone and the strictly result got in the way). Natty that sounds like the loveliest day

the thing about church today was, it was actually an "all-age" service, aimed at kids.. and the creche booth (not sure if it's sound proof) was set aside for "quiet reflection" while the kids did their activity. baggins went to have a look and got a dirty glare for his troubles. we don't have a "traditional Sunday School" set-up. the CofE has become modern and evangelisitic and the Methodist has no provision for kids unless it's a special service. I really want the boys to grow up aware of it though, but it would be a damned sight easier to stay in and watch Songs of Praise. the lady in charge is lovely (she runs the film club), but I really don't need the stress. As soon as christmas is over I'll probably lapse again

sorry, rant over
