where u off to ria?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 09:16

Morning all

DH has gone for another interview! It's awkward, until they get a signed contract he feels he ought to keep going to interviews as something could still go worng, but what if he actually gets offered a job? That'll be a difficult decision. But one thing is for sure, going to so many interviews in a short time frame has boosted his interview performance

I've got an hour dental appointment at noon today It was meant to have been on Weds afternoon but got postponed. It's probably the first stage in root canal treatment. I've just signed a form accepting the risks And I'm ripping the "War of the Worlds" CD and one of the Narnia CDs to my MP3 player so I have something to listen to, so I can try to take my mind off it. DH should eb back from his interview in time to look after Jamlet, as otherwise I really will have something to distract me from the treatment!

educatingRia · 14/11/2008 09:37

you will be able to shout "No Nathaniel, No!" at a crucial point Jammy. Hope it goes well without too much trauma. Good for your DH. My DH had one the other day ahd he got 15 minutes because the interview panel were running late. They told him he would probably make it to the shortlist (My "BF" made apoint of walking to school with me that day, reason - "I saw your DH go out in the car wearing a tie", I just said oh yes and changed the subject. Get stuffed pretend friend. None of your business)

maybe you should put mustard on your DHs tongue too natty???

educatingRia · 14/11/2008 09:42

I am going to the regional Children in Need night. Local radio presenters are doing a rip off of Strictly. I don't actually want to go now and could use some valium just now, I am going with DM, DS1, Dsis & Dniece, and Dsis SIL (so Dsis will be wearing her Hyacinth Bucket hat tonight)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 09:49

at shouting "No Nathaniel, No!"
I am sure to giggle now when we get to that bit, which will probably be just as she's drilling a particularly delicate bit and I'll make her slip and it'll all go horribly wrong! (Sure that won't happen, just my imagination running away with me because I'm nervous)

Hope you enjoy your night out Ria. 'Fraid it doesn't sound like my cup of tea. Will probably watch my new DVD (Jamlet got me the Sweeney Todd DVD for my bday ) to avoid it on the telly tonight. I'm happy to donate to the charity - have done so at work this week - just don't make me watxh the flippin' thing!

educatingRia · 14/11/2008 10:24

probably not my thing either, seemedlike a good idea at the time.

for the third time the benefits agency have not paid DHs JSA into his account. and this time they aren't going to give him any until they get my payslip for last month (for £12.49 FGS) which I can't give them because the new payroll system chewed up 30,000 payslips and as they don't know which ones they haven't re-issued them. I really don't need this. And my job is SO not worth this hassle.

How awful for your friends Storm
Sorry to hear you're all ill. At least your DD didn't puke all over other cinemagoers though.

My DD is definitely poorly, she's asleep atm, but at least hasn't thrown up anymore today.

Yes I must admit as I was wiping up sick last night I was annoyed for a moment, as we'd only that evening washed her hair, so it wasn't tied back. She has been curled up on the sofa all day a with fever and I don't have the heart to subject her to another bath.

I'm back. It ended up being a shorter treatment today (half hour). But I go back on Dec 10th for a long treatment (she estimates 1.5 - 2 hours ) and she thinks there may be another session needed after that! Then all being well I will need a crown in another 3 months time.

Sorry to hear these tales of puking Hope everyone is fighting fit again soon.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 14:05

Oh and some good news - we got a £150 voucher towards our next holiday as compensation for things going wrong with our last one

LackaDAISYcal · 14/11/2008 14:07

Sorry for all the poorliness storm and sputnik

and storm so so sorry for your friend . People feel they have to say something and unfortunately misplaced platitudes are what comes out sometimes. I hope they have the strength to get through this together, but cannot imagine the horror of losing a child

Natty......I agree with Ria, your DH needs the mustard treatment, not DS. Just ignore DS and he'll soon get the idea that it isn't having an effect.

I am taking part in an infant development study. I have a student from the university coming over for an hour every Friday to observe me and Finlay, just doing what we do.....it's over two years though so a bit of a commitment. So, she came over for to introduce herself this morning and seems really nice. No Prof Wilson or BBC cameras involved though

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 14:12

Hi Daisy. That study does sound like a commitment - does that mean you have to be every Friday for the next 2 years? Or can she come and see you out and about?

Bless DH, he'd got me in some yoghurt drink, which is great because I'm hungry but can't eat atm. So I'm swiggin Yop and trying not to dribble too much down my chin!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 14:13

be in every Friday obviously.
I don't think you should stop being!

educatingRia · 14/11/2008 14:33

so after many telephone calls and faxes from my payroll dept DH is now going into town to collect his giro. I want to go to town. but I can't go cos even if DF collects DS2 from school, I won't get back in time to get ready for the hell I'm putting myself through tonight. Just had a maddening hour at work too. I need a proper job.
sounds interesting daisy.

educatingRia · 14/11/2008 14:42

DAISY - here, if you have time

LackaDAISYcal · 14/11/2008 14:44

glad you got the money sorted out Ria. Have a good time tonight; I'll keep an eye out for you when they show the regional stuff

hope the pain isn't too bad Jammy.

DD has woken from her nap in a foul mood and has been tantrumming over nothing for nearly 15 minutes. Just when she calms down, DH or I do or say something that sets her off again

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/11/2008 14:52

No pain so far, still numb. But have taken some paracetamol, as advised by dentist, as I can feel it beginning to wear off.
