hiya

Well I'm pregnant again still in shock dunno why we were having unprotected sex! Due date will be 12th jan so early days, gap of 18 months!! DP and I are delighted we wanted to have them close together anyway. I look At Abbie though and think aww she's my baby I can't imagine having another or being able to love it as much as her but I'm sure we will.

Now all we need to do is find somewhere to live ...

littlerach · 09/05/2005 14:36

Congratulations, sweetkitty, must say I keep thinking DD2 is growing up too fast, and putting off DH's vasectomy!!!

dinosaur · 09/05/2005 14:38

Oh sweetkitty congratulations! You WILL be a busy mummy...

tew · 09/05/2005 14:54

Sweetkitty, if it makes you feel better I'm due with no 2 on Oct 20th, and there will be a 14 month age gap between my two! Half of me feels rather sad that DD1 won't have time to be a baby on her own, but at least she won't be jealous!!

Think we're going to be very busy!

Eshay · 09/05/2005 16:19

Sweetkitty, congratulations! We are ttc at the moment so later this week I could have some news to share. It will be great having them close together but I understand what you mean about wondering if you could love another baby as much as you do Abbie.

Rumpelstiltskin, Welcome. And if it makes you feel any better: I never received a Bounty pack Did you have your dd at St Thomas' too?

Thomas has had diarrhoea for 3 days now. His poor bum is super red and it is hurting him. Strange thing is that he doesn't act ill otherwise, he still likes his food and he still tries to get at everything I try to hide. If it doesn't improve soon I'll go and see the GP. Any tips on special foods I can give him?

Sponge · 09/05/2005 16:34

OMG Sweetkitty. Congratulations . Somewhere to live would be good admittedly but you have a while to sort it.
I used to look at dd and worry that I wouldn't love my new baby as much but don't worry, you will. I absolutely adore my little man.

Eshay the best advice for any stomach upset I think is to keep to plain carbohydrates as much as possible - toast, mashed potato, rice etc, bananas are also good as long as they're not really ripe - and keep off dairy completely until it clears up.
Harry went through a couple of big bouts of diarrhoea and puking and it wouldn't clear up while we gave him any milk.

Welcome Rumplestiltskin.

Welcome

sweetkitty · 09/05/2005 19:50

thanks girls

sending loads of babydust your way eshay I've been frightening myself thinking 18 month gap 18 month gap but I think there are pros and cons against any gap, I'm just so thankful I'm pregnant never mind worrying about the age gap!

Now have to wean DD off the boob...............

littlerach · 10/05/2005 08:27

Eshay, DD2 has had yucky nappies for the last few days but not been ill, I am putting it down to teething ATM.

Spacecadet · 10/05/2005 20:46

congrats sweetkitty, you will be fine, hope the house situation resolves quickly though.

Eshay · 10/05/2005 20:52

Sponge, does keeping off diary include formula milk? His last nappy before bed today had some loose stools but also some of a more satisfying consitency. I hope that means the end of it.

Sponge · 11/05/2005 09:51

Yes it does Eshay but it sounds like he's on the mend anyway so you won't need to take drastic measures. It's really only in case of stomach bugs as dairy products feed the bug - so real diarrhoea, possibly vomiting etc. I wouldn't keep him off milk just for a few runny nappies as so many things change the consistency of what comes out from day to day.
It does amaze me how they can be so unphased by being ill though. Harry can throw up a whole feed and then grin at you and carry on playing.

Eshay · 11/05/2005 10:50

That's so true about continuing play like nothing has happened after spewing all over the kitchen floor.

I thought thomas was on the mend too but it seems the watery stools come and go and this morning there was some blood in his runny poo. It's probably just from all the strain that's put on his bottom but I'm going to see the GP later as blood can be there for all sorts of reasons.

Springchicken · 11/05/2005 15:24

Congratulations Sweetkitty

God, I'm so jealous!

rumplestiltskin · 11/05/2005 21:30

eshay, no st georges. was meant to be a home birth but they ran out of midwives, can you believe it? still alls well that ends well.

thanks for welcome.

oliveoil · 12/05/2005 13:20

FOUND IT! I have been after this b**tard thread for eons.

Alice is just over 8 months now, sits like a little buddha but does nothing else, shuffles, crawls, lies on tummy NOTHING. She eats well and is about 23lb now but was 9lb 5oz when born so she was destined to be a tub.

Until Xmas she was a major pain, whinged all the time (it seemed) but then miraculously one day she changed and has slept through really since Jan. Hurrah. This change coincided with me stopping b/feeding which the HV says is a coincidence but I think that with me being happier, she was too.

Grace (dd1) is now 2 and a half and is s-l-o-w-l-y coming round to the fact that Alice is here to stay. It is cute when they kiss (rare however).

I will trawl through this thread if I get a min later, hope all of your babies are well.

xxxx

MarmaladeSun · 12/05/2005 19:07

Hi everyone. Well, Siobhan is now nearly 10 months old; doesn't time fly? Sad really. She changes so much every day. She says a few words...Doggy (pronounced goggy) to every animal she sees! Daddy, and Mummum. "Gone" when she's eating...it's so sweet. She crawls at an alarming rate, and stands up all the time. She has taken a few steps, but lacks the confidence bless her. She also loves the fimbles!!! Aaaahhhhh. Unfortuantely she still doesn't need much sleep, and it's gotten worse lately as she's teething again. She has eight teeth through but is always rubbing her gums at the back so maybe the bigger teeth are coming? I can't remember at what age the back teeth come. Hope you're all well.

Eshay · 13/05/2005 11:34

Well, I did a pg test last night and it was positive. EDD is 19 Jan so I'm on the same antenatal thread as Sweetkitty! Nice to have a friend there already

I can't believe how quickly we succeeded. We stopped using contraception in Feb but didn't look at the calendar at all. I did look at the calendar in April and BOOM! Bingo! I was fairly certain I was pg almost the next day as I started feeling things in my tummy and I suppose this being number 2 I am much more aware of what to feel. There were some other signs as well like being tired and two bloody noses. Thank God my boobs aren't swelling up yet. I was so happy that they were finally getting close to their pre-pg state, which is too big to begin with!

I am really happy but gutted at the same time as I was finally doing well losing some of the extra weight. I had lost a stone already, which seems like it was for nothing now. Maybe this time I'll stay away from the Magnums.

Thomas no longer has diarrhoea but he still has a sore bum. The poor little chap. They're just open wounds really. I put him in the bath at least 5 times a day so I don't have to use wipes on his bottom. He loves it!

Sponge · 13/05/2005 12:00

Wow congratulations Eshay, you're all at it you mad women .

MrsEvs · 13/05/2005 15:07

Congrats Eshay and SweetKitty! Great news

God you are making me broody now! I was thinking I would wait til Phoebe was 1 to start trying but you're all giving me ideas!!

Phoebe is doing really well, so much happier now she can get around and pull herself up. I think the lack of mobility was starting to frustrate her before. Just bought her this little toy piano thing that has a microphone with it and she puts the whole thing in her mouth and sings into it - then she cracks up laughing at her own joke - it's very cute

Quacks · 13/05/2005 21:44

tew · 16/05/2005 13:30

Glad I'm not the only one taking the plunge. Florence is 8 1/2 months old, and I'm already 17/12 weeks pregnant. Slightly sooner than planned (!), my husband's reaction was "now I really do believe in the immaculate conception". Now I've got my head round the very close age gap (14 months), very pleased, as will be nice to have them close in age. Although very aware that the next few years will be knackering!

tew · 16/05/2005 13:39

Do any of you put your babies in a lighterweight sleeping bag/grow bag for the summer? The one I have a the moment is a 2.5 tog, but wonder if I need to buy a lighter one, if so, any recommendations for pretty ones? Thx.

Springchicken · 16/05/2005 14:35

Congratulations Eshay

God, i am soooooooo jealous now.

what do you think DP would say about putting off the wedding and just having another baby instead?
