Hiya, havent posted on this thread for a while so thought i would catch up.
Evie is usually quite good with play-doh but I do have to keep a close eye on her, sometimes she will jsut play with it, other days she will try and eat it.
Terrible Two's - Evie has had quite a few episodes like this. She does not like being told she cant do something. We have a coal fire in our front room and atm her favourite thing is either playing with the coal or working her way over to the marble edge of the fireplace, looking directly at me and slowly putting one foot up on the marble with a sly grin on her face. she takes absolutely no notice when we tell her no or to get off though, we physically have to move her. Little monkey.
If she doesn't get her own way or gets told no, she sometimes throws herself on the floor or i you are holding her, arches her back right back and screams.
She is poorly at the minute. Had to call NHS Direct last Thursday as she had been grouchy all day and when it came to getting ready for bed I noticed she was extremely hot to touch. I took her T Shirt and Vest off and she screamed so loud and so unlike her, she did the same when I put her pyjama top on. She was also really sqinting her eyes away from the light so of course I completely panicked. NHS Direct were great and I got put straight through to a nurse who spent about 15 minutes on the phone telling me how to do sevral tests, she then came to the conclusion it was either ear ache or an ear infection. She said not to get antibiotics as it seemed like the viral form and calpol would be suitable. Evie didn't improve much so when i was getting her dressed yesterday and noticed a red pinprick rash all over, i rushed her straight down to the doctors in a major panic. I t turns out she has perforated both of her ear drums Poor mite . My GP said it have been from the infection and where it wasnt treated with antibiotics the pressume got too much and caused them to burst. He said he can seem blisters of blood and puss behind both ear drums which have got to burst to release some of the pressure. Also said the pain would have been terrible.
It's so horrible when they are poorly isn't it.
Evie is still not saying many words - I am trying hard to keep on with 1 word for a whole week and just kep repeating it, if she doesnt pick it up i have been mocing on to a different word. So far we have establshed the basic mum, dad, nan, grandad, dog, up & gone. She is trying to talk lots and constantly jabbers away like she is having a proper conversation with someone but just not making much sense at the minute.
