all smiles again now! Never lasts long!

Eshay · 17/08/2005 15:10

Yes, MMR is around 13 months and again before they start school. I'm just waiting for Thomas to break out in spots now since it's been nearly a week since he had his jab and that is when these symptoms can suddenly appear. I wouldn't mind some forced time off work with the weather being as nice as it is these days

Springchicken - yes, Thomas' feet are quite big, just like his daddy's. I'm sure he'll grow over 6 feet tall. He was 57 cm when born and weighed 4.25 kilos. I think this is about 22 and a half inches and 9 pound 6. And he was super skinny too, just very tall. He couldn't make his way out and had to be delivered by C-section. Hope this next one of mine will be a tiny little one.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/08/2005 15:20

Eshay - WOW!

Jess was 10cm shorter and 3lbs lighter at birth!!!!

You have got a big lad there!

Eshay · 17/08/2005 21:09

Yes, he was quite a giant. That's why we're booked in for an appontment with the consultant at 39 weeks this time. She'll check to see if this is another giant and if it is we'll probably go for an elective C-section so we won't have to go through the same things as last time. Maybe I should take up smoking - that is supposed to lead to small babies

sweetkitty · 17/08/2005 21:15

I'm hoping this one is another littlie, Abbie was 6lbs 3ozs at birth, I have to turn up her 6-9 month old jeans to let her walk today bless her.

She cries too if she doesn't like something I think it's their way of telling you "I don't like this" because they can't talk. Abbie cries if you take anything off her she's not allowed so you have to replace it with something else the crying magically disappears! She always wants on the pc to type too and gets really upset if she can't get typing on the keyboard, think I must be on here too much she copies me typing except she uses her two index fingers it's very funny.

Can I share the happy news that I passed my driving test this morning? I'm so pleased. Now I can finally tell dh to stop telling me what to do (his advice is always the exact opposite of anything my instructor says, ha ha).

spacecadet · 18/08/2005 13:27

well done eshay

sweetkitty · 18/08/2005 16:12

Well Done Eshay

Eshay · 18/08/2005 21:02

Thanks guys. I wanted to have some drinks to celebrate but I'll leave it at one small glass because of my bump. Yum! Special treat!

MrsEvs · 19/08/2005 03:59

Well I'm finally joining all you expecatant Mums! Just found out I'm pg, due 6th/7th April!

Feel far more superstitious this time, like I had such an easy pregnancy last time it can't be this easy again, so fingers crossed for me everyone. I'll be glad to get to 12 weeks. Am feeling really nauseous this time too, which is totally new to me as had no trace of sickness with dd - too much to expect to be that lucky again i suppose. Also super tired at the mo which I did have last time but passed by 12 weeks I seem to remember.

One good thing is that my boobs don't seem as sore this time, although I was wondering whether this was really true or whether compared to milk coming in/not BFing for a few hours, pregnancy boob pain feels like nothing

Eshay, congrats on the driving test and I'll take your 9lbs 6 and raise you to 9lb 10 for Pheebs. I think I said this before but in our family all the babies have been 10lbs plus, so when I called my sister with the news she said "9lbs 10 - that's not a baby, come back to me when you've had a 10 pounder!" - the cheek!

Phoebe is now attempting to run, which needless to say usually ends in a spectacular face plant - she's black and blue! I'm sure people must think she's maltreated . She also throws some major tantrums when things aren't exactly as she wants them. I'd rather have a baby with a bit of spark than a really placid child but it's rather exhausting especially as I'm at that knackered all the time stage!

Got her first shoes while we were at home in the UK - 5F, got the little first shoes photo and all that from Clarks - so cute!

Springchicken · 19/08/2005 11:00

Congratulations MrsEvs, wonderful news Oh, how i wish i was joining all you lot again this time round.

littlerach · 19/08/2005 14:29

Congratulations.

Are you going to have any more, Springchicken?
Nosy old thing that I am!!

I am ever so broody, but DH is not agreeing really! We have enough room, but it is nice to have a spare room (junk room), I don't know!

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 19/08/2005 14:54

congratulations MrsEvs I'm having the exact same pregnancy as with DD up to now (19 weeks now)!

Eshay · 19/08/2005 21:08

Congratulations MrsEvs! You must be so happy! My pg is going much the same too but I do find I am much more tired. Good luck!

MrsEvs · 20/08/2005 16:07

Thanks everyone! It is very exciting. First docs appointment is August 29th, so we'll see what she has to say about it all.

Springchicken · 22/08/2005 08:41

Well I officially have a toddler !
I have spent weeks standing her up and shaking toys at her to try and get to walk with not much avail - however, yesterday, she decided she'd had enough of crawling and just stood up and started taking steps.

Granted, she doesn't go very far yet but she has stopped, as soon as she looses her balance she gets straight back up again and does a little bit more.

Brought a tear to my eye

Springchicken · 22/08/2005 08:42

hasn't stopped. Can you tell i'm excited

sweetkitty · 22/08/2005 09:00

It's great isn't it SC when they take there first steps. Abbie's getting really confident now and runs instead of walks which results in her falling over a lot of the time.

Springchicken · 23/08/2005 08:59

It is great! She's not so good with trainers on, so i'm letting her get more confident bare foot first.

Right guys, We are off on holiday in 3 weeks and I need to know i have covered every eventuality as far as Evie goes. Can you have a look at my other thread and tell me if i have missed anything. x

spacecadet · 23/08/2005 09:12

Congrats mrs evs, thats great news
emily has been walking now for about a month, i feel sad as now she looks like a little girl as opposed to a baby!
she loves looking at books now, and at the mo has one fave board book which i have to read over and over and over....
we are waiting on quotes from a couple of builders for our extension, we desperately need it, em isin our room and i have no where to put the new baby as yet!, one builder said he could start after xmas.
i want it built now!!!!

Sponge · 24/08/2005 14:15

Congrats MrsEvs.
You lot are all mad. I waited 4 years before I was brave enough to do it again.

Looking at books. Ah I remember that lovely feeling of having a quiet little girl baby. Harry is gorgeous but constant trouble. In everything he shouldn't be, throwing toys full of water out of the bath, climbing up the ladder onto dd's top bunk (we have to shut him out of her room now), books are for tearing, loo rolls are for chucking into the loo, wet showers are for sitting in and getting soaked.
He's getting crafty too. He'll push his rocking horse over to our desk and climb on so he can reach the things we've put up there to keep away from him.
He's staggering a few steps but not quite under control yet. It won't be long now though.
Little horror. God I love him .

Beetle73 · 24/08/2005 14:42

Hi. New to this thread. My DD born 19 July 2004. She's a very good walker with furniture and not bad when holding a hand, but too scared to do more than take one step then sit down. Anyone else have a reluctant walker? Is it weight-related? My DD on the heavy side (but also on the tall side).
