I used to go for weekly appointments at the hospital for my eyes as a young child, then monthly as I got older, until I was about 7 or 8. I think that's why I ended up working in hospitals for so many years, I just felt really comfortable there. Even now if I walk down a hospital corridoor holding the rail and close my eyes, I feel like I'm a wee girl again

trace2 · 28/10/2008 18:24

btw it seems my hotmail account has forwarded some spam email to everyone without my knowledge, so sorry if you got a mail from me about electrical products

FiendishFairyFay · 28/10/2008 19:25

Not much consolation Jammy, but it says here that if your employer is insolvent then the govt will pay stat redundancy pay, so he should at least get that.

FiendishFairyFay · 28/10/2008 19:35

Coooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Daisy, are you still with us?

JammyOLantern · 28/10/2008 19:52

Thanks Fairy, we are looking into stuff like that.

He has a meeting by phone tonight with some of his colleagues. They are considering trying to work by themselves, continuing what they hasve been doing for a few months but without the parent company. Obviously the customer won't like being left in the lurch so may be happy to work with them?

FiendishFairyFay · 28/10/2008 19:53

I really hope that it works out for him. What an awful position

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/10/2008 20:00

Sorry about your bad news Jammy & for you Trace.

Wonder if this is IT for Daisy.

JammyOLantern · 28/10/2008 20:01

Worse for some of his colleagues - one bloke says he is &*%#ed if he doesn't find work in the next 3-4 weeks. We can manage for a bit, just will eat into our DH's savings, which obviously isn't ideal.

JammyOLantern · 28/10/2008 20:01

Hi Tallulah.

And yes, Daisy, where are you?

DKMA · 28/10/2008 20:06

aye oop laydees

RiallyEeRiaee · 28/10/2008 20:06

trace that is so unfair for Chloe.

and for your DH jammy, but that sounds like a good plan to begin with.

Is daisy on FB? is there a live birth thread?

DS2 has an ear infection.

I have just had a quick nose at the Due Nov 08 antenatal club and she was on there at about 7:30, so don't think she's in labour yet

FiendishFairyFay · 28/10/2008 20:08

Hello TB, DKMA and Ria
