here tallulah, but spelled differently

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 17:20

Ahh - yep that's mine too but was going with the McChuill version though. Always liked it since I read The Silver Darlings many moons ago.

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 17:22

Right better feed DD. She is trumping away here & proudly announcing 'bum' each time. What a little lady. .

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 17:24

gosh I'd forgotten all about Finn McChuill.

He's the giant from the Giants Causeway story isn't he?

off to google that spelling.....I like the idea of gaelic spelling but would just be too confusing round these parts.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 17:33

tallulah, do you know MerryMarigold? she has had her twins . A girl 5lbs 13oz and a boy 6lbs 5oz . Our first offical November babies

We have two more coming on Friday by CS, but not twins this time.

Went to see my psych this afternoon and he said that he would have usually come out to see me at this stage but they are short staffed. He then went on to say that on the odd occasion they have had full term women go to the clinic the woman has gone into labour the next day....so watch this space

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 17:39

Oh how lovely about MM. Will need to check in with the twin thread.

So you could very well be next. Will watch this space carefully.

Looks like Norty having Farquar then .

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 17:49

I was at school with a boy called Farquhar. He used to get called Farter, poor sod!

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 17:56

why are shit and piss ok but you can't have arse???

I like Lachlan and Clodagh. And Declan but that's Irish.

are you talking about wordplay Ria?

I hope so, cos if not you are mad

wotcha lovely, you OK?

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:25

I'm getting better thanks daisy. I have been beyond Victor Meldrew, so kept away because it's not fair to share, especially with pregnant ladies

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2008 18:26

No Holly got my name right

Farquar - bloody hell! Isn't that from Shrek?

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2008 18:26

Share away Ria - that's what we're here for!

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:27

Torquil? How do you pronounce it.

I really like the boys name in my fave books - The Children of Green Know/Howe. He's called Tolly but it's short for something I can't remember and have lost the book. Cornish though.

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 18:29

It's a v. posh Scottish name, Norty. Not that I've ever met one. Must be moving in the wrong circles! Like Fraser though.

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:36

Hi norty, shame about your holiday stress but hope you had a good time anyway. I suspected you must have some sort of Scottish connection with DDs name.

It would take too long, but every little thing riled me over the weekend. main examples - congratulated an old school friends mother on her new GS and the silly cow launched into "it's not easy like it is for you with your Mum round the corner, four hours to visit". Shut the fuck up you silly witch.I did point out that when DS1 was born my M&D used to travel 8 hour round trip every Sunday to visit, but she wasn't listeing> DM said I should have asked her how she thinks they felt when DN was born in Oz very prem and her twin died and DM&D got on a plane to be there as soon as they could. She also tried to make me feel better becasue said woman was at the toddlers table top buying really nasty 2nd hand teddys ("oh, they have to have second hand, poor things". Good old Mummy, I was still cross though)

And I had BFs kids round on Sunday as it was her birthday (9 & 6 I think). They both brought their DSs, her eldest had to put his on charge immediately and they ignored poor DS2 becasue he doesn't have a DS. BF couldn't leave them quick enough, no time to even chat... (she is only nice to me now when shes with her new DP), then I took them to church with us and they showed me up so much. I was and . Their GF is a vicar and the eldest asked really loudly if he could play DS in church! Oh, and then I got a request for a reference for said friedn inthe post yesterday. Would have been nice to be asked. I haven't sent it back yet as am tempted to be honest

sorry, rant over. Just be grateful I didn't post over the weekend becasue every single on would have been like that

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 18:37

Sorry Ria - would be nicknamed toley here.

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:37

I am flicking through my name book now, for fun obviously and shortlisting my favourites for ... cats. After I get Cobweb and Mustard Seed that is. Poor Obe, I do love him, but I want a new kitten and I don't think he'd like it.

Ah, the evening shift is here! Hello all.

Daisy, tomorrow would be good, as I won't be around from Friday (although I know the lovely ladies on here will keep me updated ). But if you could hold on until next weekend, that would be preferable.

LO has a new favourite toy. She has discovered Dorothy the Dinosaur, squeeze its tummy and sings. Tis driving me mad.

Ohforfoxsake · 22/10/2008 18:42

Sorry Ria, crossed post.

Sounds like a nightmare. Cheeky sod re his DS. They are a PITA I'm sure. I really don't think they are a good idea until kids are in double figures when you want them to lock themselves away for hours on end.

TALLULAHBELLE · 22/10/2008 18:43

Poor Ria -no wonder you're pissed off.

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:46

I don't usually always get that pissed off (apart from that child), but I seemed to have something of an anger problem over the weekend. It is going a bit now (I hope)

OP posts:
RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 18:47

I should go and get washed up and put the kids to bed, before I get sucked into that dratted word game or I'll be here all night (again)

Ohforfoxsake · 22/10/2008 18:54

Is there something else Ria? Sometimes there's a knot of uptightness in my stomach which makes me furious at times. Stress, I think it is.

Mind you, that sounds like enough for one weekend.

Still, we missed you

JammyOLantern · 22/10/2008 19:18

Hi all. Ria on your behalf over your weekend. Hope things calm down now for you.

I would have been here suring the day but we had a funny power cut this morning and internet wasn't working after that and I didn't have time to ring DH and get instructions on how to fix it until gone 5, then was busy with jamlet and bedtime etc. Throat is finally getting less sore - hoorah! - but still incredibly hoarse. Had a trip to the asthma clinic this afternoon and at least that's under control though. And the nice nurse said she'd try to get me a sick note so I don't have to worry about working tonight Just as well as I have a date at 8 . I've got back into Animal Crossing on my DS, having not played it for months, and one of the characters is coming to visit my house at 8pm tonight. If I'm there I might get a present

RiallyEeRiaee · 22/10/2008 19:29

glad your throat is feeling a little better jammy. (DS2 has a cough and baggins is getting it. There is a girl at school who has been coughing badly for weeks and hasn't been kept off, her mum thinks it's funny. I do not)

Loads of things foxy, they were the best ones. I think maybe it's my depression coming out for a change

of course, what I would have liked to have said to that woman was it's a shame her children feel they have to live so far away from her, but as is the wasy I didn't think of it until I got home.

baggins and I did some gardening today and took the almost-last of my flowers to my grandparents at the cemetry which always makes me feel better and puts things in perspective. (If my Gran had been here she would have put her in her place)

I need to put these children to bed before I list them on ebay, back ina bit. Enjoy your date jammy (DS1 wants animal crossing for xmas)
