Hi Tallulah. Glad your appt went better this time. Sounds like you're growing them well! Another cousin of mine had twins who each weighed within 2 ounces of 7lb (one just over, one just under). Sounds like you're giving her a run for her money!

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 20:07

Am hoping that both will be around the 5 1/2 - 6lb mark. My cousin who had twins pushed out over 15lb of baby & really that's just not for me .DD was 6 14 & 41 weeks + & I thought quite big enough thank you.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:10

My SILs were 6lbs 1oz and 6lbs 3oz.....and we thought they were big boys. Glad you got more information this time around tallulah....can't believe you are 28 weeks already. Has this one flown for you as well? Mine seems to have been the shortest pregnancy on record.

Jammy, that is such a sweet offer . We have friends and neighbours who I know will step in, but I am one of these people who hates asking, even though they have already offered iyswim.

Feeling much better now the DCs are in bed and I can sit and relax, but boy am I knackered.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 20:14

Flew in at the start but now I am fed up with the pains & discomforts that have appeared a lot earlier on. The next 10 weeks or so will be a struggle I think where the first 20 weeks zipped by.

Ohforfoxsake · 21/10/2008 20:27

Great news Tallulah

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:28

When do you finish work? And when is DH home again? I can't believe you are doing this all by yourself; at least I get respite at the weekends.

How is DD with your bump? E points to my tummy and says baby but she has no idea really. she does get a bit miffed when she gets a poke or a prod and she is puzzled why she can't get on my lap anymore.

how are you doing with names? are you carrying on the scottish theme? My boys will both have scottish names; I hope DD doesn't feel left out when she is older!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:28

all those questions; I am such a nosey cow!

FiendishFairyFay · 21/10/2008 20:39

Hello everyone. Tallulah, you must be knackered, doing it all on your own.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 20:47

Well, I'll try to answer them all to your satisfaction .

Sent MAt B1 in with finish work date of 15th Dec. Hope to get signed off sooner by GP. If not will probably bring mat leave fw to end Nov.

DH returns to our sunny shores on 12 Nov. Boy is he in for a shock.

DD loves to poke & prod my bump with her scratchy little fingernails & is obsessed with my 'button' which is fast becoming an outy. If you ask what's in mummy's tummy sometimes she will say baba but no she really doesn't get it.

Thought we were almost sorted with names. We agreed on 2 boys names straight away - chose one each- Dh picked his girl's name which I would never have thought of but it has grown on me now. All that was left was for me to pick my girl's & had a shortlist. Last week Dh announced he had 'gone off' the girl's name & then vetoed every one of my choices. Back to the drawing board. And the names all Scottish/ Celtic theme.

Whew!

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 20:53

Yep- knackered is the word. By my mum has been an absolute godsend. Would be in a heap on the floor if it wasn't for her.

Wonder if your name is on our list Daisy. DH's friends had a wee boy in Aug & stole chose my boy's name. V. unusual choice for Australians. I said I didn't care & was still having it so there!

FiendishFairyFay · 21/10/2008 20:57

I'm glad you aren't doing it alone. I'm sure Dh won't know what's hit him when he gets back

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 21:00

In case anyone is interested Photobox.com have a 2 for 1 offer on some of their gifts until midnight tonight. I am currently making a desktop calendar so we can get one for each set of g'parents for Xmas.

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 21:03

Tallulah - sounds as if you're a star managing with DH away. At least his homecoming is on the horizon now.

FiendishFairyFay · 21/10/2008 21:06

Sounds good Jammy, although not sure I have the energy tonight

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 21:07

Me Neither Fairy, but I've started now... Just waiting for the photos to upload and as soon as it's sorted I'm going to bed.

LittleMissNorty · 21/10/2008 21:28

Evening all

Hope DH is home soon Daisy - has Virgil got a bit more active? Hope you feel better soon

Listenening to you two makes me remember what its like to be heavily pregnant....the heartburn is kicking in now and the constant need to wee

We also have Scottish themes with our names due to DHs heritage....so perhaps we'll all have boys with the same name . Your DS1 name is on my list Daisy, as well as one that starts with the same letter as well as one beginning with "F"

Can't decide on a girls name

Went back to work today and tbh it was nice to have a break from everyone and think of something different .....in fact, I'm supposed to be working now....

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 21:34

Norty - my boy's name starts with F & is Scottish. Wonder if we'll all end up with same name.

LittleMissNorty · 21/10/2008 21:36

sounds like it

At least you all know thhat I didn't nick it from you

Bloodystumperlicious · 21/10/2008 21:39

Hello

Catching up as I go here:

Daisy, don't buy the padded straps for the P&T. We took them off the quinny as they were too bulky and haven't used them since, not worth it.

Holly, that's crap about the calendar, hopefully you can still have some input, but everyone likes a bit of kudos every now and then!

for Trace, best wishes and hope Chloe gets better and Jack gets the support he needs if you are lurking x

Elvira do you still have a lady buggy? How cool is that!

DD is getting a pushchair for Christmas. It's one my SIL gave us and is still in the boot of the car. When my SIL saw it in there DH told her we were saving it for Christmas she later sad really sadly "hopefully you will have a job soon so next year you don't have to give your daughter a second hand pushchair for Christmas" which I thought was quite funny as either way I would have saved it for her for Christmas, she won't care that it's second hand! This is a woman who is lovely, absolutely lovely but has obviously spoilt her children so now they are adults they are really bratty and think the world (and their parents) owe them a living. Just shows that even when you think you are doing your best for your kids, you sometimes aren't.

Re: renting, in our last place I was so worried they would keep some of our deposit but we cleaned the house top to bottom and having painted it, it looked a damn sight better than when we moved in. With this flat our landlord had a 3 rd party come and do the inventory and we all went around the flat documenting every single mark on the wall or carpet etc. The guy was dead strict about all the rules etc but the landlord kept shaking his head behind the guy to say "really, don't worry about that"! We have to pay £80 to get it done ourselves when we leave, which is a bit of a pisser but the hold the deposit and are completely neutral and fair so it is worth it. Our landlord is lovely though, came round for a 1 year review a few weeks ago and didn't even put the rent up.

Daisy, you are not having a good time are you . Wish I could help you.

jammy, we are in the process of doing one of those calendars for our mums.

I am sooo knackered. Been to the Big Smoke today which involved a 3.5 hour coach journey at 6.30am then a 2.5 hr one back getting home for 8pm. Just made in time to see DD. I am missing her so much, I am so over full time working.

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 21:48

Bumper, good to hear from you. Sorry you've had such a tiring day and that you're missing DD. I agree that going P/T has been fabulous and I would be loathe to go F/T again at the moment.

OK my photos and calendars are ordered, I am going to bed. Night all.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 21:53

Night Jammy. Hope you feel better soon. I am off to bed in a minute too. Put DD down early as she was having tantrums galore so hoping she won't wake up too early as it's my day off. Am dreading the terrible twos if the temper she has now is any indication of what's to come.

Right, off to bed, and DH is going to finish the photos for our calendar. Don't know when I'll catch up next. Go friends coming round tomorrow evening. Thursday I am taking the afternoon of to spend with my friend who just had a late M/C. She is still off work. Doesn't want to go back as the girl she sits next to is pg . She came over the other night, and I saw the photos (I asked to, not knowing what to expect but feeling like I owed it to her to see them), god DH and I nearly wept . I haven't been able to stop thinking about them since.

And my lovely yoga teacher who gave me free private antenatal classes has testicular cancer and is going in for emergency surgery tomorrow . God the world is shite sometimes. Sorry I am so maudlin at the moment. I seem to have a black cloud hanging over me and the people around me.

Night all. Daisy please take care and look after yourself.

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/10/2008 22:05

Elvira - I already have an Eilidh so trying to get girl names that go with that & also go with each other plus boy names that go too plus boy & girl names that also go. Then add middle names & surnames. Aaargggh! And we thought it was hard to agree first time around. Right really am off to bed. G'night.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 22:11

our name begins with F as well . They are all going to be called the same thing aren't they? . It's been on my list for ever though so no stealing here either.

Another clue though, mine is the name of a cartoon fire engine as I've just realised there is another common scottish F name, which was also my mum's maiden name butI think it was just a step too scottish for DH!

DH is home, the lovely lovely man.....and i ignored him for half an hour as I've been on the phone to my BF who now lives in Canada for over an hour. she is so sweet and lovely and I miss her loads . We had some emails go adrift earlier this year and she hadn't got the one from me telling her about my mum. she just asked me how my mum was and I just burst into tears . I am staggered at how it affected me really as we talk about mum all the time with the kids. funny ole things hormones!

how was work Norty? good to be back? I hope DD settles back in at nursery OK.

virgil is moving, but not with his usual vigour. I have a big red scrape across my bump and it's a bit tender. We are going to make a judgement call on it in the morning, but I think I would be happier with some monitoring.
