oh dear foxy. he was thinking though; you have to give him credit for that, although do you think he was influenced by the calpol advert?

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 20:59

I haven't seen that Daisy (That's not so say he hasn't! ) When's your due date?

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 21:05

LOL Foxy. An enquiring mind I'd call that. My brother put toilet roll down the loo & unravelled the roll all thru the bathroom & into the hall then flushed just to see it get sucked up like a piece of spaghetti. Sad thing is he was about 14 at the time.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 21:15

pmsl at your brother tallulah

Nov 6th foxy, but he is a "good size" already according to the hospital registrar.

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 21:18

I have a feeling that it's only a matter of time until the loo roll down the loo tricks happen here - DS already tries to dangle his hands in the loo at every opportunity

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 21:24

I'm off to bed - can we continue the game tomorrow, Daisy?

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 21:27

LOL at your brother T!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 21:29

no worries fairy; you have a whole day to make your move!

HollyWeen · 20/10/2008 22:06

Oooo halloween smilies!

Glad you are still with us daisy my love! Hope you are feeling a bit better x

I was very today. I went into town to have a coffee with one of the other peer supporters to talk about fundraising ideas. Afterwards I went to find dd some butterfly hair clips, she likes to be Lola! I obviously went to Claire's first of all and I had to leave because I was crying! This poor little girl was having her ears pierced and it was just awful. They'd obviously done one side and were trying to do the other and she was screaming and struggling. Her mum was holding her down and the girl was just sobbing and I will never forget the look on her face . She must have been about 3. Why would you hurt your baby like that? It should be made illegal. I just burst into tears in the middle of the shop and had to leave . I am a pussy!

Just came to check on daisy and say hi, I'm off to bed now. 'Night xxxx

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 22:16

I don't have halloween smilies? there have been threads about em all day; some people do some don't and last I heard they had resorted back to normal for a few more days!

fairy...sorry you didn't win the costa rica competition

yes, still here and feeling much better thanks. I'll still be here on the 20th November I'll wager!!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 22:17

for the little girl in Claire's holly.

Other piercings are over 18 only, same with tattoos, so I am with you there. At least till age 14 or something.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 22:50

I've had a FB message from Trace. I'll just copy it rather than paraphrase it.....

Morning all. I am still off sick. I have just spoken to the duty doctor at our GP and he is going to have a prescription ready for me to collect in half an hour I am slightly concerned that he kept going on about my nose and sinuses when I have a slightly snotty nose but the main problem by far is the throat. I did tell him that but he seemed focused on my sinuses . But hey ABs should hopefully work on my throat (assuming it is bacterial) too?

Daisy, if you are going to hold on past your due date (seems unlikely but you never know) then Nov 13th is a FAB day to be born!!! (I speak from personal experience )

for the girl with the earring Holly. I did sign a petition to get it made illegal for under 4s or something (Personlly I think it should be illegal under 10 or 12) but it had no effect unfortunately

And for Trace and family. Sending them all best love and wishes.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 10:25

morning jammy. Sorry you are still ill, but it;s good that you're getting something to clear it up. Hopefully they'll kick in soon and get you back to good health.

DD is driving me potty this morning and is getting really frustrated grumpy and upset when things (and that seems to be everything!) aren't going her way. she has discovered static electricity when she switches the TV on and rubs her head on it so her hair stands on end. Very cute, except when I am trying to watch something!

DCs seem better this morning, so DS is off to school (although still looking a wee bitty pale) and DDs bum is just lovely although the teeth and her throat are still causing grief. I'm feeling much more human this morning, and have just been unpacking the Phil & Teds which arrived yesterday

I'm a bit disappointed that the harness doesn't have any padded shoulder thingies, in spite of all the web photos and brochure photos showing them. I called the supplier and they said they get this query all the time and have asked P&T, only to be told, No sorry we don't supply them to the European market . So, something else to buy on top of the £370 just spent

Right, off for a shower and then to build up the P&T. I'm dying to take it out for a spin!

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 10:38

We don't have any padded bits on the P&T straps (being part of the European market and all) and it hasn't been a problem. I certainly wouldn't rush out and get them. BTW do you have a raincover? We still have a spare double raincover and can send it to you if you want? It does have a small tear at the edge, but not that will affect it's ability to keep the rain off.

Have picked up ABs and started on them, so fingers crossed they'll sort me out.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 10:48

I've got a double raincover jammy, thanks.

Did you buy the sleeping bag bit for use as a cosytoes? I'm wondering whether to get one or not as I think DD might be too big for it (the website helpfully says birth to toddler but doesn't clarify what age toddler is). The woman in Mothercrap said it can't be used with the doubles seat anyway, but I really don't trust them in there at all.

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 10:55

We didn't buy any extras other than the raincover (and then another raincover when DH forgot to pack it when we went on holiday - the only thing he was responsible for was teh P&T!) We borrowed a cocoon for a bit while she was tiny, and after that I just tucked blankets round her legs. Are we tight? I prefer economical myself

Sputnik · 21/10/2008 11:10

I only wish we could do more for Chloe and Trace, like Holly said, wave a magic wand....

Here's hoping things start looking up for all of them.

How are you this morning Daisy?

HollyWeen · 21/10/2008 11:10

Glad trace liked the presents, but for little chloe. Hope she is ok. Hope trace is ok too.

Daisy, hope you are having fun with your new pushchair. I love a new pushchair! I meant to send the cocoon to you yesterday, but I didn't get round to it. I'll get it out to you tomorrow.

I was having fun trying to organise a bfing calendar for the peer supporter groups in Southampton. Now it has been passed over to the NCT by the co-ordinator of the groups, so I have been pushed out. I am feeling a bit tbh. I have spent a lot of time and effort on this and for nothing. I know the end result will be the same, but it was my project and I had lots of ideas for it. I guess I'll just concentrate on the other areas of fundraising, unless they get passed on to a bigger organisation too!

Sputnik · 21/10/2008 11:16

That would piss me off too Holly. Can't you ask the coordinator if you can still be involved?

I would make that illegal too elvira, but then I am against any sort of mutilisation of small children! I shan't think about it any more, it makes me !

I would sputnik, but the co-ordinator has completely passed the whole project over to the NCT. I wasn't even CCed in on the original email or on the one from the NCT asking for ideas/help. It was only the co-ordinator sending me the email that made me aware of what has happened. It is a bit shit of them really. I am especially pissed off because the local NCT know me and know I am doing the BFC training. I am trying to get involved as much as I can with the NCT, going to meetings, volunteering etc. but I now feel like telling them to piss off! Grrr...

I have loads of prizes for a big prize draw next year, but I now feel like keeping it all for myself and only raising money for my group.

HollyWeen · 21/10/2008 11:27

Oh dear...dd has just told ds to piss off ! Bad mother alert!

JammyOLantern · 21/10/2008 11:32

I'd be about that too Holly.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 11:49

holly, I'm sure the NCT will be more than happy to have your input.

I would word and email to your peer supporter co-ordinator and copy it to the relevant bod at the NCT reminding them how much work you've done and that you are still happy to be involved. It's a bit of a pisser though. I'd also be having a private word with the co-ordinator as she should have discussed this with you before handing it over out of courtesy if nothing else! for you.

Off to build a buggy now I have all the bits for the McLaren in the wash.
