Think I was well past children's TV by the 80's. Trumpton's more my era Jammy .

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:16

Me too. I didn't think it'd be my thing, but DH insisted and so far Postman Pat is the only one I ever saw, and that was only because my nephew loved it.

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:19

Do any of you facebook ladies play Scrabble. Have just played my first game, and fear I may become addicted

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:20

Pigeon Street was one of my absolute favourite programmes, alongside Mr Benn and Button Moon

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:20

I loved Mr Ben. Now you're talking.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 20:23

me me fairy....invite me to scrabble please

I watched button moon with my nephews

it was Fingerbobs and Crystal Tips and Alistair that I remember fondly.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 20:23

Dangermouse was fab in the 80s. I was 18 and used to go into Boots after school to watch it!

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 20:24

I have the complete Mr Ben on DVD.
There were only 14 episodes!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 20:24

oh, and Trumpton and Camberwick Green.

I used to love Ivor the Engine, but that was later I think, maybe early 80s?

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:25

I am playing a game at the moment Daisy, but will invite when finished. How long per turn?

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:25

Only 14 Mr Bens, blimey

i loved Trumpton and Ivor as well

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 20:25

Lol sputnik at "I've" got

I bought Rhubarb and Custard for me DS a few years ago.....tis bloody fab

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 20:26

I got Trumpton for DD but for some reason DD refuses to watch it.
All this stuff is 2.99 on Amazon these days btw.

I think Ivor the Engine may be my next purchase.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 20:28

Rhubarb and Custard, now you're talking!

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 20:29

Roobarb was on TV the other day. I only really liked the tune the rest was annoying. Anyone remember Mary, Mungo & Midge?

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:29

We had Bagpuss and R&C videos. The grandparents have them now that we don't have a video player ready to help them with babysitting in the future.

Saw R&C at the weekend, but it was modern re-make. Wrong!!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 20:31

Bagpuss was always fab.

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:31

I used to like Mary Mungo and Midge

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 20:32

fairy, I've invited you to a game

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 20:33

Yeah but they were always in a lift - did they ever go anywhere? Maybe they're still there, stuck between floors.

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:33

My other game over now Daisy so coming to find you............

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:35

DD loves our DVD of the classic Mr Men stories

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:37

Right I am off. Night all.

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 20:39

goodnight Jammy, hope you feel better soon

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 20:51

Evening.

Jammy, DP and I have had words, he is equally as frustrated with me for "thinking about things and doing things all the time". It could just be that he is a grumpy fucker of course

And DS2 has been performing a plumbing experiment. He (previously) filled the loo with toilet paper but found (rather impressively for a 5 yo I think) that if you open the cistern [sp] and lift the ballcock, it empties it.

I think he was trying to repeat the success, and failed. Even reaching down the u-bend didn't help. The bugger.
