It was all the warning messages that done my head in "blind summits and sharp bends" and "75 accidents in 3 years" "30mph MAXIMUM" .....I done the whole thing at 40mph or less ....now I know why the sat nav suggests the Glasgow / Carlisle route.....but we wanted to go over the bridge at Edinburgh . Never again. It took 5 hours to do Blairgowrie to Doncaster

I agree with the better out than in bit Daisy....especailly if you're about to give birth. At least DH is around so you can take it easy. Good news he's handed in his resignation then....got the formal offer then I assume?

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 11:22

Glad you're still here Daisy, sorry you're poorly though. Remember an infection can start labour - just ask jamlet!!

I have been sent home from work as they don't want my bugs (understandably). I am going to get set up in a moment to work from home, but not sure that I'm going to be able to work too hard. But don't really want to be taking any more time off sick

Am at the cost of those car keys and associated bits.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 11:35

It is a bit hair-raising in the dark norty, but on a lovely sunny day it's a beautiful drive. It's one of my favourite drives, and passes my favourite place name of all time......a wee village near Hadrian's wall called....Wallish Walls

Jammy, hope you feel better soon; apparently this throat bug is pretty rife at the minute as well. DD is decidedly croaky and voiceless today.

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 14:37

ahhh, thanks for holding off Daisy but I'm back now. You may birth

I hope you are OK though - you do know you have made us all nervous wrecks! I won't go out again until Virgil is out. But I did have an extra G&T just for you last night. I was with you in spirit

Jammy, I'm sorry you are feeling so awful.

And hello everyone.

I was meant to have a friend round for lunch today, but got back to my front door after taking DD1 to school only to realise no door keys. Then had to drag DS1 who is off sick (with sore throat bug) and grumpy tired baby to get spares off my sis. Trouble is I made a lovely lunch for my pal.

So I have eaten it all.

And I too started WW today.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 14:55

sorry, no can do; doula was up all night at a birth; she has confirmed Wednesday as well or anytime after Thursday as that's when she is officially on call for me. thanks for the G&T

Still feeling crap and getting nasty pains; but difficult to tell which are due to uterus and which are due to bowels. I'll call the hospital tomorrow if no better.

DCs are being challenging. DD much better but is still teething and is being very quick to take offense at things. DS is being.....well DS. He is going bakc to school tomorrow and really should have been there today

DH has to go to work tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to him being away.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 14:56

Oh you too Foxy.
Well I have stuck to my diet today so far [preens]
But given my problem times are afternoon and after dinner that doesn't mean much.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 14:58

So, we're penciled in for wednesday then

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 14:58

I'll be here for you Daisy

Perhaps its your bowel irritating your uterus? Isn't that the same way that Castor Oil works?

Remember I had a good two weeks of the same, and got to 6 cm unbenownst to me. Perhaps you are very slowly dialating, and in for a great birth? Virgil with fly out

Ohforfoxsake · 20/10/2008 15:02

Hi Sputnik! x-post

shit. forgot. Just ate 2 M&S chocolaty marshmallowy teacakes. Arse.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 15:07

Yes Baby Sputnik shot out like a cork from a champage bottle once they'd popped my waters, thanks to my pre-dilated cervix

This is getting exciting

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 15:08

[slaps Foxy's hands away]
(for not offering them round)

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 15:09

It is foxy. I have learnt today (yay google)that the nerve cluster that concerns the cervix is the same one that concerns the bowel; hence diahorrea and labour often go hand in hand...ie labour may cause diahorrea and conversely diahorrea may cause labour.

Which is why I'm taking it a bit easy. I do not want to be labouring feeling like this.

I will join you all on the healthy eating (not dieting as it's such a big word and easily broken) once virgil is born....for now I eat maltesers ...but not today, obviously.

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 15:26

This is getting exciting! It's almost worth being off work for! (Have given in and stopped work so am now officially sick again) Hope you (and family) do get a chance to get over this bug though Daisy before Virgil shows his face. Yes, Wednesday would be good, afternoon preferably as we're out in the morning/for lunch.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 15:30

right, so I have a window of, what two and half hours between lunchtime and the school run? Right Ho; we'll see what we can do

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 15:38

That's the spirit Daisy How very understanding you are!

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 16:56

So no baby yet then Daisy? Sounds like nasty bug you poor thing. You should be in bed resting & getting ready for Wed - I've got toddlers in the morn so after lunch would be fine. Thanks.

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 19:33

Wednesday is good for me too, Daisy

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 19:40

DH and I are hardly speaking Well I'm hardly able to speak and DH is fed up with asking me stuff and me not being able to answer.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 19:42

Give him a kick up the bum jammy and tell him (well whisper at him) to stop being a pratt. It's not like this is your fault is it?

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 19:49

I think DH is losing a bit of patience with me as well truth be told; and i'm feeling guilty about him doing everything for the DCs as well as the housework. The one nappy I tried to change today I had to go and get him to do it as I had to dash to the loo as soon as I stood up.

He has to go into work tomorrow and won't be back till Thursday

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 19:49

Could you chat on MSN or something?

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 19:55

Oh what a shame he'll miss the birth on Wed Daisy . Still we're all much more important.

Seriously, could he not wangle the next few days off sounds like you really need the help. He could always ring & say you'd just gone into labour & he would have to rush you to the hosp. Then, oh dear, false alarm!

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 19:58

He's not really cross about it, it just is making us quite quiet.

Hope you manage OK without DH Daisy.

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 20:04

lol tallulah

sorry jammy, got the wrong end of the stick; I thought you meant not talking as in having a sulk

PILS have offered to help, but can't until Thursday because of a, b and c. I didn't realise that DH had called them and am a bit miffed about it, because it always becomes a drama and we are left feeling like we are putting them out.....grr .

JammyOLantern · 20/10/2008 20:08

It's OK Daisy. I was kind of playing on words

Watching some programme we recorded at the weekend about 80s children's TV. Wonder how many I'll remember? So far I've not even heard of Pigeon Street, know Postman Pat and have heard of Thundercats and He-Man but never seen them.
