Oh daisy, I hope your night gets better . I'm off to bed now. Will try and check in in the morning.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/10/2008 22:39

He is tonight elvira, but is leaving at 5 tomorrow morning......maybe?

I've just "cleared my system out". so either this is it, or it's the lurgy. I was reading that bad tummy bugs can bring labour on....I do NOT want to be ill and trying to deliver a baby at the same time.

gosh, I remember elvira; you were worried you wouldn't get your homebirth iirc.

Ah well, I'll try not to worry then

Oooooh, I knew something exciting would happen when I went to bed! Daisy, are you there? Are you OK?

Got to go to work today as if not the admin gets horrendous, so easier to go in. But I will let them all hear my (lack of) voice so they let me take it easy. But will make a gp appointment for weds and if throat still bad will go then.

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/10/2008 08:16

Daisy, Daisy, you around? Just checking before I go to work. No further developments then? Will check again once I get home.

HollyWeen · 20/10/2008 08:39

DAISY????!!!!

LittleMissNorty · 20/10/2008 09:22

No news from Daisy then? Bloody hell

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 09:35

I had an on/off D&V bug before having DS, I couldn't tell the difference between that and BHs at one point. I was a real mess and ended up dehydrated, which was why they sent me for induction.

Anyway, hope that doesn't happen to you, Daisy! (and the giving birth part was still utterly fantastic!)

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 09:41

Bloody hell, what's going on? . Haven't been on for a while. Does anyone know whether Daisy is in labour or not? If you are Daisy, good luck

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 09:50

morning. thanks for all your concern lovelies

I'm still here, but I definately have the tummy bug rather than being in labour but it is having an effect on my uterus, which DOES NOT LIKE IT. Am in two minds whether to phone the hospital or not as I'm not sure there's anything they can do. I spent a horrible night running back and forward to the loo and am now shivering on the sofa feeling crap

with a contracting and uncomfortable uterus

virgil better stay put as I would hate to pass this to him during his transit into the world.

sputnik, induction not an option due to previous CSs so it would be straight to theatre for me ....which is a good reason not to tell them.

I'll keep my fluids up as much as I can and cross everything (literally )

DCs much better this morning, but DD still grumpy and DS just annoying. He is definately going back to school tomorrow.

DH has taken another day out of the office. He is worried that they will just think he is taking the piss since handing in his resignation last Monday, but what can he do?

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 09:53

I'm glad you are ok, my dear. Tbh my first instinct is that you should call the mw, if your uterus is contracting. I know you want to avoid a cs but isn't it better to know what's going on? {feel free to ignore me, but had to had my two pennys worth}

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 09:54

Just keep your fluids up Daisy. I wasn't really looking after myself enough at that point so it was my own fault really.

Glad you have your DH around.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 10:01

How frequent are these contractions Daisy?

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 10:02

I have gone for the middle ground and have called my doula for some advice; am waiting for her to call back

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 10:03

not frequent and not regular; more like nasty BH than anything sputnik.

....sounds miserable Daisy....hope you get some advice.

Fuck.....the very first night we were away, we arrived at Carlisle Travelodge at 12.30am and spent over 30 mins waking up the prat on the door to let us in / putting up a travel cot that turned out to be broken / getting the same prat to get us another one / getting everything inside (our room was the furthest from the entrance ) etc.....when we arrived in Inverness the next afternoon.....only one car key (and set of house keys)....must have dropped a set in the Carlisle car park. Only thing is, is that its a Laguna with a hands free key card......and I've just rung to order one.....£140 fuck fuck fuck. Why can't renaults have normal keys that cost a fiver in Timpsons

FiendishFairyFay · 20/10/2008 10:14

Good thinking on calling Doula, Daisy.

£140 - Ouch ouch ouch Norty. A similar thing happened to us, when Dh lost our key in a park, and we discovered that the spare fob didn't work. It cost £90, and I was not impressed.

Sputnik · 20/10/2008 10:19

We have one of those cards too for the scenic, I dread losing it. We actually managed (well when I say "we" I mean DH, obviously) to lose a key once, when we went up the mountain for a walk in the snow. Got back to the car and no key. We were facing a very long walk down but luckily someone saw us and gave us a lift. That cost loads to replace too.

LittleMissNorty · 20/10/2008 10:33

Blimey - at least this was a spare.....could have been worse, could have been stuck in Carlisle in the pissing rain with no access to anything in the car with a DH in a foul mood and a shitty DD .

Then the TomTom wouldn't work for the journey home.....which meant DH map reading me around the City Bypass in Edinburgh (very tense take my word for it!) and a VERY hairy drive down the A68......I don't do driving up and down mountains very well ....thank god it was dark and I couldn't see how high we were.....I pissed everyone else on the road off though as I was going so slowly .

LackaDAISYcal · 20/10/2008 10:56

Edinburgh Bypass is fucking awful norty, you have my sympathies.

Love the A68 though.....it's always our intention to get airborne over the big humps that tell you to go over them at 30mph . DS calls it the bumpy road or the "wheeeeeee" road.

Have spoken to my doula. she suggested immodium but I'm always sceptical about things like that....better out than in I think.
