Utterly crap Jenwa, but thanks for asking! Went to doctor this morning and she gave me antibiotics and an inhaler. She checked ds and thankfully it's not on his lungs (yet), but he's def more lethargic than usual (which is sort of a blessing with me feeling so helpless!).

myjob - everyone seems to want slings to feed in, but almost no-one seems to manage to do so successfully! I am just glad of mine because ds won't go in the pushchair without crying (whole lying on his back and not being held thing, even when I elevate it).

Hv is coming out to see me in a mo as I was such a mess last time I saw her. Can't see that she'll have any suggestions that we haven't thought of already though. She's running late as they've closed the road from the village to here for 3 days - what a nuisance. Luckily dd's school is in the opposite direction.

csws oh no poor you, glad your DS is not too bad, hopefully it will get on his lungs!

myjob My tummy muscles did tear but MW said they were healing, I did about 70 sit ups this morn and will keep them up. No stretch marks but when I bed or sit down I have a loose flabby bit Its weird as back in my pre pregnancy clothes but worried I will have a overhang! Keep pulling my pants up and over so its hidden!!!! And am def on the bio oil, using it likes its going out of fashion! I thought if I starved myself my skin would disapear too !!!! I want to see famous people with overhang

Aubergenie · 24/11/2008 16:41

hello!

Thanks for the sling site links AJM.

Sorry you're feeling so ill CSWS, I hope things pick up for you soon.

i've got a question about expressing. how much does your dc take at one feed? I just bought a pump at the weekend and dp is going to try and give stan a bottle tonight, but I've no idea if I've expressed enough.

star6 · 24/11/2008 16:49

aubergenie my ds takes about 120 ml at a feed of expressed milk at 7 weeks.
What do other babies take?

Aubergenie · 24/11/2008 17:10

Thanks Star!

star6 · 24/11/2008 17:18

He eats A LOT though... so not sure if this is abnormal....
I cant wait for my sling to arrive! I never thought I would wear a sling

I have this excruciating pain on my left nipple everytime ds latches on past two days... latch is ok not sure what it is... might be this whitish bubble in the middle, then a paler whitish bubble next to it? sorry if tmi - anyone know what this is?

ajm200 · 24/11/2008 17:25

I love my sling so much that I've got two more. All the wrap sort. I've even persuaded DH to 'wear' Amelia in a sling at the weekend. He wasn't too sure but did agree when I pointed out that a lightweight buggy and sling was better round the shops than the huge mountain buggy double. He might have been quicker to agree if the sling choices hadn't been girly patterned or lilac. The brown one was wet.

Maybe he is a enlightened modern man after all

Yay for sling myjob. Sorry that you are feeling so bad about your body, but glad that you have some lovely new clothes to make you feel better.

Ladies - remember to keep on doing your pelvic floor exercises. Mine is not standing up well to all the coughing.

star - I would check with bf counsellor/GP/thread on MN. I'm afraid that I have no idea.

myjob I feel the same as you, I am just about back to pre preg weight but its depressing when you have some extra skin, belly and you you dont whether it will go , I always had a flat tummy but after DD1 I had a little loose skin but onoly when sitting and now it seems more. I got some new tops too and they are also the same size as my other clothes but feel like you and feel better in them! I think my old clothes have just gone mishapen!!! Its awful as people do tend to look at you and see if you have lost your baby weight, there eyes gaze straight to your tummy! I am not glad you feel this way but glad I am not alone if you see what I mean? I think it is a case of time and some exercise. Making myself feel slightly better by highlighting my hair, sat here now with a cap on and stink of bleach! hoping DD2 does not require a feed or she may be fumigated!

omg not fair alex poos after EVERY feed!

Aubergenie · 24/11/2008 21:16

LOL at weekly poo pistachio! DS definitely poos less than when he was first born but they're really explosive and I've had to ditch quite a few vests because I couldn't get the stains out.

I've left the room while DP tries to give DS his first bottle of expressed milk. He looked like he was struggling to get his mouth round the teat - I'm just using the bottle that came with my Medela pump. I'm thinking I might have to get some different bottles/ realistic teats. Any suggestions? I'm completely clueless.

loulou33 · 24/11/2008 21:26

tommee tippee bottles work for joe and he struggles to get the idea of teats/dummies but manages them ok - you can get them anywhere.

I would rather Joe pooed more often than once a week as they are so explosive and enormous that all his clothes are covered,me, the mat etc etc as well - god forbid him having his poo when out and about, it woudl be a disaster!!

DP has just come in beaming. It all went well and Stanley managed to get the hang of the bottle. I'm SO pleased he took it, as DP is really happy to have his bonding time and I get to sit in another room and have a bit time to myself!

4andnotout · 25/11/2008 08:11

Morning all
Sorry to hear you had a crap night star
DD4 is asleep in her crib upstairs, she wakes up at the same time each night regardless of her last feed in the evening Unfortunatly dd3 woke up during the 5.30am feed and wanted to help and then to play
