three months Ria, that is utter shite. My card was cloned, and although a lot more was taken ($1000 withdrawn at a bank in Washington DC), the bank took it very seriously; put me onto their card services immediately and I had new cards the next day and the old one cancelled. I then had some paperwork to fill out for their fraud prevention department and was reimbursed a few months later.

Which bunch of tossers bank are you with?

DH had a very laid back response from his credit card company over some suspicious activity on his card too. can't remember who it is issued by though.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 20:55

and imo if you think someone is taking stuff then they should cancel your card with immediate effect and reissue you with a new one and new pin. You'd get a better service if you had just lost the bloody thing.

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/10/2008 20:56

That's a real worry Ria. I never even get atm receipts never mind keep them, how do they think it has happened?

Sorry for all those feeling under the weather. Hope you & DD OK Daisy. And sorry for your bad news this week Bumper. Hope things look up for poor Trace & Chloe soon. God what an awful time for everyone at the moment.

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2008 20:59

FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2008 21:02

the washing machine leaked while I was at work a couple of days ago and I didn't realise (we have a huge kitchen mat), now the floor is flooded and mildewy and smelly and the wood warped and has gone all funny and the concrete underneath has shattered and collapsed now there is a big hole in the floor and I have a house viewing tomorrow!!

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2008 21:05

I knew i lived in a fucking shithole

just why couldn't the shithole last a couple more months

RiallyEeRiaee · 10/10/2008 21:10

I think we're all due a bit of slack.

I'm with the one beginning with "B". Now I can actually "prove" it I'll go back on Monday. Child benefit due this week so I'm fretting that it'll get taken before I get too it then we'll be fucked too. Luckily I have my account for tax credit (food, stuff for kids) and DHs JSA goes to his account (bills, petrol) so it's not all our cash. Last week it was £40, but I wasn't certain then.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 21:48

Ria tell them to sort it, "NOW like" or else you will close the ccount and go elsewhere......then close the account and go elsewhere anyway. I'm sure if you called the child benefit people they could arrange for your benefit to be paid into one of your other accounts very quickly, or do it by giro for a few weeks.

don't put up with this from those "B*" people

fuckity fuck indeed fury . probably a stupid question, but can you "hide" it with a board or something over the hole and then a new mat over the top of that? and lots of febreeze for the smell?

OK, i'll shut up now as that isn't helping. Not sure what you can do really, other than postpone the viewing.

ARSE for Fury, Ria, Daisy, Jammy - sorry if I've forgotten anyone.

Ria, if they haven't cancelled the card whilst its investigated I think they are very, very amiss in their customer care. I'd start jumping up and down about it if I were you.

Fury, don't, whatever you do, jump up and down. Seriously, that is a big fucker.

RiallyEeRiaee · 10/10/2008 22:10

probably best to be honest but say you're getting it fixed fury, these things happen to everyone. Our favourite house (gorgeous 1930s semi, in a very affluent part of the village, in fact the house my Granny used to clean when DM was little, tiny pointless kitchen but 2 receptions, iron gates, front and back lawn) when we moved back home had dry rot, which we found out when my foot went through the floor boards in the front room. Probably a "sign" though as it wouldn't have been big enough for 3 kids (and the council estate behind it is really rough nowadays, even though its where DM grew up)

RiallyEeRiaee · 10/10/2008 22:10

hi foxy. how are the ILs?

how was the chinese daisy?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/10/2008 22:16

chinese was yum Ria....especially the crispy beef.

and my fortune cookie said something along the lines of I was going to succeed at a long term project.....is 9mo long term enough? DH and I think it is good karma for my natural delivery!

ooooh, dry rot makes my skin crawl. I have also gone through a floor and ended up covered in long strands of the fungus when doing a survey in an old pub in Keighley.

Oh bumper, that is awful about your colleague. How scary as well.
Ria, we had a cloned card here a couple of months ago. They spent about £60 in America. All we did was phoned the bank, no forms or anything. They stopped the cards and replaced them and we got our money back within a couple of weeks. Your bank sound like wankers. You need to have words with them!

Daisy, hope you and dd are ok after your fall. Sounds scary you poor lamb.

Jammy, hope you feel better.

Well, I've had a busy day! I,ve got more free stuff! Prince Lionheart have given me 3 of their Bebepod seats for my group! I'm really pleased! We are going to keep 2 and use the other as a raffle prize. I am also organising some breastfeeding posters and a calendar! I emailed all the other peer supporters in Southampton and one of them is a semi-pro photographer. So it looks like we are going to get it all off and running really soon! I only started all of this yesterday, but it just goes to show what you can do when you put your mind to it!

RiallyEeRiaee · 10/10/2008 22:31

Well done holly (you certainly put me to shame).

Keighley is grim anyway daisy.

of chinese. My favourite being salt and pepper ribs, chicken satay )hot platter for 2 but don't like the other stuff so DH eats it), shciken in satay sauce or with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and fried rice and chips. Lots of prawn crackers. Yum. Tesco pizza here.

HollyWeen · 10/10/2008 22:53

Arse! BlackBerry running really slow! It's taken me 10 mins to get through the thread to the bottom so I can post again!

I meant to say that is shit about your house fury. I'm with daisy on the covering it up idea! Hopefully the viewers won't noticed and you can get it fixed.

JammyOLantern · 11/10/2008 08:12

Morning all. Lost my voice totally here I went to bed at 8.20 last night and really wanted to speak to my mum & dad, I felt so bad. My mum couldn't tell it was me I think she thought I was a crank/perv call and I was worried she was going to hang up on me. But eventually she got my Dad on the other ohonr and he worked it out - his hearing is rather better. Sorry feeling really sorry for myself.

Ria, my sis banks with B as well, and someone has copied her card or its details at least as well. They spent £60 on mobile top up and tried to spend £1200 on travel tickets, but the bank refused that as they suspected fraud. But they've been good to my sis, cancelled the card and ordered a new one, and she has to fill in some forms and then they'll refund the £60.

RiallyEeRiaee · 11/10/2008 09:45

thanks jammy & everyone. will sort it onMonday (our local branch not open today and can't be bothered to go to town).

We were meant to be having a family day out, but no-one seems keen

JammyOLantern · 11/10/2008 09:53

Fury, hope your house viewing goes well. Sorry to hear about your machine and floor.

LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 11:12

morning all....hope your voice is better jammy and that you aren't feeling too rough. At least you can "talk" to us whilst resting your real voice

What a night here. DD was really unsettled all evening and woke up just as I was going to bed at 12:30. So, we sat and had a chat for a bit and she seemed really happy and perky. Just as I was thinking she ought to go back in her cot, this look of horror came over her face and she threw up all over me . then she did it again......and again. I was in a tshirt and knickers and it went all over my bump and was running down onto my legs and in between....really really nice. I couldn't move as I was sitting in a pool of vom; she was covered in it, and her doggy who was leaning over my bump was covered as well. DH was taking DS for a wee, so when he came in, and I said she'd been sick, he scooped her off my lap, ignoring my pleas of "there's vomit everywhere", and I was sprayed in a shower of it; all over my face and hair. At which point I nearly threw up. so I had to have a shower to get it all off me, and then it took half an hour to get all the bits off the floor and get her bedroom sorted out.......She is a bit pale this morning but seems full of beans. Not sure what caused it! Thank God DH was there though as I wouldn't have been able to deal with her on my own, covered as I was in vom. We just threw all the clothes and towels and the chair cover in a bin bag....I have to deal with that later and NOT looking forward to it. then I spent the night tossing and turning and not getting any sleep. DH slept on DDs floor incase she was sick again so it's the house of rumpy hell here this morning.

Fury, hope things get soreted with your floor and the viweing goes well considering!

Ria, get onto them on Monday and demand that this gets sorted.

JammyOLantern · 11/10/2008 12:04

Aw Daisy, that sounds awful! Hope everyone's OK today and there are no repeat performances to come.

DH has interview preparation stuff to do this afternoon, so I have to manage jamlet by myself, eek! And we are having to cancel lunch out tomorrow You can tell I'm feeling lousy about feeling like this can't you.

JammyOLantern · 11/10/2008 15:05

Well, we sold half the stuff we put up for sale and got £52.95 If it had all gone we'd have got £85, so obviously the more expensice half went. Was a little surprised by some of the things that didn't sell, but there you go. I think one of our charity shops will be getting a donation this week.

FiendishFairyFay · 11/10/2008 15:58

Hello everyone

Poor Daisy's DD, and Jammy - so many bugs flying around at the moment

I am spitting feathers. My fully potty-trained almost dry-at-night three year old DD has wee'ed on both sofas and my lap this week. I am pretty sure that there is nothing wrong with her waterworks, she's just being lazy and can't be bothered to stop what she's doing for a wee. It makes me very and no amount of telling off/understanding/bribery/rewards.... seems to make any difference. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

FiendishFairyFay · 11/10/2008 18:10

FFS now she's wee'ed on her bed. I resign

JammyOLantern · 11/10/2008 19:28

Of Fairy, poor you! Not looking forward to that bit of child-rearing. It might be worth getting her checked though as a friend of mine had similar with her DD, thought it was just her being lazy, not wanting to stop her play etc, but she did have an infection.

LackaDAISYcal · 11/10/2008 19:44

oh, dear fairy. much sympathies; DS still has moments where he gets too carried away with what he is doing to go to the toilet and has had episodes where he has weed on the sofa just because he couldn't be bothered going to the toilet as he would miss his programme. Not much consolation, but it'll pass.
