OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PortAndLemon · 06/10/2008 19:21

I've used an Ella's pouch even though we're BLW -- have put some of the fruit puree on toast for DD when I was eating Unsuitable Things.

Sal -- Nonononono, you must make sure R puts the stuff about his advanced stability on his CV when he leaves school.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:22

Sal - you had me creased up earlier, i could just imagine you being all smug, then realising how funny it was (at least you noticed!!)

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:23

No Ocado here either, oh no. Hell, no Topshop!

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 19:24

I do have an address for her, but VS said she thought she'd moved when I suggested sending her a card.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:26

maybe it may be worth a card? Maybe she may get her mail redirected?

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 19:41

Lol / at my pfb moment of madness!

PAL, I can just imagine him as 30-year old attending an interview, all suited up, having gone through the usual motions and scenarios, being presented by that most annoying of all annoying interview questions: So what do you think would give you the edge over someone else? And then, ta da!!! : When I was six months...

I need to get a life, rofl.

scorpio1 · 06/10/2008 19:42

I still am like that, Sal, after 3 babies!

Have definite PS(econd)B issues

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 19:44

scorpio!

EllieG · 06/10/2008 20:03

knitter - I have loads of photos of gorgous DD with gorgeous blanket, I just keep forgetting to send them to you! Doh! Do you want them electronically or on paper? Will you email me - eleanorgreen@ymail dot com

Gave Mol some banana - she licked it, then cried. Silly baby, does she not know that BLW is the best thing ever and so, so good for her? Honestly.

What is the deal with tomato? Is it not allowed? I made a spag bol for DH and DSD and was going to mush some and freeze for Mol for her to have in a couple of weeks - can I do that? Is made with no salt etc Also - not sure it will puree down to nothing like veg does - is she allowed lumpyish/textured food in a few weeks? She is coming up 25 weeks now. Oh am so confused. Want you all to come round every day and advise me.

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 21:18

Ellie, you have mail!

Can I just ask please, how come I was 'told off' when I started weaning George at 24 weeks, and now it's ok? What do we know now that I missed? I was made to feel really bad and guilty that I'd done some awful damage... I'm not having a strop, just genuinely interested.

Peachy · 06/10/2008 21:20

She's allowed textured food as soon as she will take it really. bas prefers some texture. tomato needs to be introduced when you now the other meal constituent are things she tolerates; do that for at least 2 meals as a true allergy (as opposed to intol) takes at least one exposure to show.

Bas is being a naughty little boy tonight LOL. He has been getting his back up properly wen on all 4's now and motoring about (DS3 commando crawled), then he did this head thing he does for a feed- went to latch then- Snap! massive bite!

yep, he has a ttoth, and becuase its completely the wrong one to come through first didn't know! Little git (but MY little git LOL)

KnitterInTheNW · 06/10/2008 21:33

Oh god yes, my little horror's been biting too. I can't believe how strong his jaws and gums are! It's that 'I'm very hungry and I want some... CHOMP' that would be comical if it wasn't so sore!

EllieG · 06/10/2008 22:01

knitter - I just stay very, very quiet about it, am not as brave as you and do not want to be told off so just ask questions in hypothetical way about what I should be doing. Sorry if you felt you were told off though. I hope I didn't. 'Tis your baby and George is a lovely well-looked after and happy n' healthy lad, so clearly whatever you are/have done is working well.

Thanks for tip about texture peachy - she seems to eat anything and everything so far (including a little book when I wasn't looking the other day - I began BLW with cardboard - she is still alive though, so obviously no allergy to it )

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 22:06

Benedict is very un-advanced - no teeth still.
But he can get his bum in the air and hold himself up on his toes - like he's doing downward facing dog. And he goes backwards and round and round. Just not forwards which is what I think he'd rather do, if his squeals of frustration are anything to go by.

So we tried some big steamed carrot chunks and he chased them around the tray and managed to get oohhhh maybe 1cm into his mouth and I think swallowed about half that. I'm not sure I'm cut out for this..

Knitter, sorry to hear you felt bad and guilty after the earlier discussion. I'm sure that wasn't anyone's intention. I feel a bit weird just starting up like this as had always assumed I'd wait another week or so, once I'd worked out the formula thing as well. And then had a minor freak out that maybe I should be giving him potato rather than carrot because of The Chip Incident and what if he reacted and then I wouldn't know which thing.

Then I told myself to get a grip and we'd be lucky if he'd actually ingested anything at all today.

EllieG · 06/10/2008 22:10

Mol can't even roll yet. Backward baby.

She can sit up though [slightly perkier emoticon]

(At least, sometimes she can.)

She's very happy though and smiles alot, from her prone position on the floor. Think she is as lazy as her mummy.

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 22:11

Peachy, is Bas crawling??? Oooh, I want pics and everything. Don't think R plans on going anywhere soon, so I'll have to entertain myself on your babies! No wonder he can sit up - saves his energy. Gmpf, so much for me being supermom.

EllieG · 06/10/2008 22:13

Is probably just that he is so, so intelligent, is too busy doing algorithums to make room for such mundane things as crawling. At least, that's what I keep telling myself about Molly.

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 22:18

Trust me Ladybee, if my almost-missing-nipple of the other day is anything to go by, I'll say thank your lucky stars for no teeth!

Knitter, not ignoring you, I just don't have the strength to get into arguments lately, so my new take (on everyone but dh - he has to suffer for all mankind) is to ignore all friction. [head in sand emoticon] Failing that I apologise and hope people would just leave me alone, whether or not I did anything. I might get some backbone again some day, not sure!

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 22:19

I love Ellie.

EllieG · 06/10/2008 22:21

Aw shucks...I love you too [grin}

EllieG · 06/10/2008 22:22

Right. Off to do dream feed and bed. DH has just looked at me in a hopeful way when I said was going to bed. Am going to go to sleep quickly before he gets any Ideas.

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 22:23

Benedict is such a tubster that he doesn't roll, he grabs the bar of his playgym and uses it to lever himself from back to front. He doens't see the point of going from front to back. I mean, really, what does that achieve?

SalLikesCoffee · 06/10/2008 22:24

Hahahaha. Just saw a really really dodgy documentary re the sex trade in lap dancing clubs that has put me off sex for life. Single child he will be then...

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 22:25

oh for ideas, Ellie.

Chance would be a fine thing.

hmmf.

DP is now responsible for contraception.
I think he's decided on abstinence, in lieu of being forced to use condoms now that I can't take pill.

LadyBee · 06/10/2008 22:29

ok ok.

So I could go and buy them myself and make a move on him.

But do I have to do everything in this house?
