OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 14:36

LOL. Trust me though you wouldn't want to see me half dressed - would fit in with the Hallowe'en theme though as it would be enough to scare anyone away

My aunt's flight is due to leave Gatwick in 20 mins. She's bringing a brilliant Pirate Skeleton costume (complete with parrot!) for DS1. All the infant & primary students can wear costume next Friday & at the end of the day there's a parade and prizes for the best costumes. Cute!

FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 14:37

LadyBee have got everything crossed for you as well.

LadyBee · 15/10/2008 14:46

Ellie, must have been a horrible shock - I remember bursting into tears when I realised I'd forgotten to turn a monitor on and found that he'd been in his cot crying for goodness knows how long before I went up to check. Thought I was the most terrible mother in the whole world. But you did go in, you found her quickly, she was fine, and now you've learnt a potential danger and can use something else next time.

Luckymummy - poor DD

Congrats on the tooth Sushimama, we're still waiting here. Desperately hoping that he cuts a couple before we're due to get on the plane.

LadyBee · 15/10/2008 14:48

ooh Soph, see, sometimes I hate the idea of DS growing up and other times I can't wait for him to be a little boy and wearing costumes.

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 14:49

Everything crossed for your dh Ladybee. If I fall over it's your fault.

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 15/10/2008 15:02

Ellie, sorry I didn't post earlier, was dashing out.
Your whole life will be spent with 'what ifS' now, seriously.
Babies/toddlers/bigger kids. They should all be put in a padded cell til they move out. It starts with eating inappropriate things (toys) and then they eat inappropriate things (tablets) oh and they drink inappropriate things (booze)

FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 15:08

LadyBee - yep, it's a double-edged sword. You want your LO's to grow up but at the same time you want them to stay little forever
VSSnS - you are soooo right
Sal - just don´t stand up, you'll be fine

SushiMama · 15/10/2008 15:31

Sal we use the Happy Nappy at Swim classes too. And they have a swimming costume for holidays. It's just the swim nappy with additional top part sewn on, so more coverage from the sun.

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 15:55

Now see, sitting down all day (for safety sake only of course, nothing to do with laziness) I can do.

SushiMama - is the full swimming costume more difficult to get off? I've thought of getting R one of these but can only imagine one big scene every time I have to put it on / take it off. ??

SushiMama · 15/10/2008 16:08

Here it is Sal. I think you get the nappy part on (fairly easy, and then with him seated on your lap, you do up the back of top part. I forget, did you want a nappy mainly, or a sunproof costume. You could just get a babywrap if you just wanted something easy to put on/ take off but were not bothered about leakage per se.

Do the teeth hurt when they have already cut the gum? DD has today developed a habit of biting the table.

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 16:16

Ah, that one you have is perfect. I'd like a combination really, but a non-leak nappy is most important.

R's teeth still hurt for a couple of days (weeks?) after they cut through as they were pushing out. It was better than just before they cut through, but not painfree just yet.

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 16:19

Mimi has no teeth!

FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 16:24

Scorpio - I´m sure they´re in there somewhere! Sam keeps frantically gumming stuff to death but no sign of teeth just yet. They physio reckons they´re due any day now .... she´s been saying that for the last two weeks

Sal - definitely safety first I say

FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 16:25

the physio - der brain!

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 16:28

none of mine had teeth until 9 mths, lol

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 16:30

Sympathies Soph - I thought I was going to go mad those last few days before his teeth cut through. I sincerely hope he's only planning on ever having 2 teeth! They're sharp and everything, will do the job. And I'm willing to puree for years to come if needs be (or Ella is ).

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 16:31

What considerate kids you have, Scorpio! This little monster is misbehaving from the start!

FrankenSoph73 · 15/10/2008 16:44

LOL Sal. DS1 was great when his came through, no whingeing, nothing. Am keeping fingers crossed that Sam will be the same. Although he´s already a lot more vocal than his brother was at this age. He´s getting very good at pigeon expressions while making a little O with his mouth. Very cute & always makes me laugh Well, better get ready to go home & pretend to tidy up See you tomorrow xxxxxx

KnitterInTheNW · 15/10/2008 18:39

George has no teeth yet either. I'm hoping he's not going to take after me, I had one tooth on my first birthday!

MommyHasaHeadache · 15/10/2008 19:49

Sal - I use kooshies for Gigi's swim lessons - they keep everything in.

I am soo tired tonight - been on the go all day long today - tomorrow I am taking it easy. Might just make a batch of puree and that's it.

MommyHasaHeadache · 15/10/2008 19:54

Oh meant to say - no teeth for Gigi either - she has been teething for about 3 months now, but no sign. Apparently I was 15 months old before I got my 1st one. My mother was so worried she kept taking me to the dentist!

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 20:59

Thanks MHH. Had to laugh at the dentist visits without any teeth, hehe. Btw, just had an e-mail from the first aid guy - all still on for Saturday.

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 21:23

We're going to France for Christmas, we're going to France for Christmas (realises she's childish and is only too grateful for the excuse to stop the happy dance before dying of exhaustion!)

Mollyfloss · 15/10/2008 21:35

Ladybee & VS: I can't believe you had chokes!!! Does it happen often with babies while weaning. I think I would freak out! I'm so not ready for BLW...

SalLikesCoffee · 15/10/2008 21:46

Mollyfloss, I'll freak out too! Btw, if you want to you could check with the London Ambulance service near you - they're doing free first aid courses here (one hour, covers basic things like choking, resuscitation, convulsions, bleeding etc).
