The only bottles Bas will have in his mouth (hasnt drun from mind) is the bluey green mothercare ones; tommee tippee made him scream!

Closest ting to a reslt we've had so far was an plastic Asda beaker. Doable in an emerency but still not keen.

HV advises trying 75% BM mixed ith 25% formula and gradually changing mix until pure formula

MadameOvary · 15/10/2008 10:03

Morning all
Had a fabulous "Ellas Post-Prunes" nappy this morning
Ellis was in exploratory mood while I was trying to change it too.
Tried butternut Squash for breakfast - another thumbs up!
VS - have you decided what to wear? You can represent my vicarious night out
I have some really nice clothes including a killer pair of black patent double strap heels but cant be bothered dressing up.

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 10:16

the nearestop to us that does those ellas pouches is about 15 miles away, lol

Mimi loves mango, toast and we tried avocado yesterday but she wasn't loving it, but not hating it either.

Peachy · 15/10/2008 10:24

We love butternut here, last nigt was seet potato with pear lamb and mint- a success.

scorpio- I can post you one if you want the experience of the prunes? . Oh avocado- its so good for them, try mixing with fruit because the nutrient value is massive

Peachy · 15/10/2008 10:25

(use the avocado / fruit mix on toast or as a dip)

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 10:27

i just tried wedges of it yesterday, am going to mash with banana today and see how that goes down. I am huge avocado eater!!

Hee hee, these prune nappies must be spectacular!! You can post me one if you want to..... then i can report, lol. I could feed it to her on saturday night, as DH is home on Sunday

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 10:28

Mimi will take from a spoon, so was thinking of spoon feeding her it mashed up. And give her a spoon too and mash away!!

Peachy · 15/10/2008 10:30

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 10:31

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:19

I am the worst mummy in the world

Put Mol down for nap earlier - she has a little blanket thing with head and tail on it as is like a little mouse. She usually sucks it's nose to get to sleep. I stayed in the room waiting for her to go to sleep when I heard her choking and went to look at the tail was in her mouth and she was choking on it. I fished it out and picked her up and she was fine, not at all rattled but I was crying. She is asleep now but I feel terrible. I know you shouldn't give them toys but thought this was OK, but what if I hadn't been there? She could have been in real trouble. I normally stay til she is asleep but sometimes I duck in and out and what if I had? Oh my god I am a horrible awful mother. Have taken it away and she has gone to sleep without it.

DH says she can have a little taggie blanket to suck on - he reckons that's OK as nothing to stick too far in her mouth but what if it goes over her head? I think nothing is best now.

I feel horrible.

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 11:21

Oh Ellie you sausage, its just an accident! Mimi has one of those things, like a blanket with a face, lol. A Taggy will be fine

It doesnt mean you are a bad mother - I have had far worse things happen!! You weren't to know, at all. These htings happen with children!!

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 11:22

Taggy

Babies love these!

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:23

Thanks scorpio. Keep crying about it though I know is silly, just can't bear thought of anything happening to my little girl.

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:25

She has one of those - will try that for her if people think is safe. She couldn't choke on the little tags could she?

TheShipsCat · 15/10/2008 11:30

Ah, Ellie, don't worry. There will be so many times when you fuck up make tiny mistakes. You know now, so that's A Good Thing. Don't beat yourself up about it.

I decided to leave the weaning thing for a bit, but I was eating a banana yesterday. She was watching me so carefully, I felt a bit guilty, so I gave her some. It was as if I had given her the last lolly in the world, she loved it. Does that mean she's ready?
I think she lost her virgin gut at 3 weeks when DD1 gave her a biscuit, which she was happily sucking away on....
After 3 horrific ni.

TheShipsCat · 15/10/2008 11:32

Computer is very sick.

After 3 horrific nights of controlled crying, which I hate, A slept really well. But dd1 got up at 3am....Aaargh!!!

Peachy · 15/10/2008 11:35

part of messahe missing tsc?

ellie ds3 has one of those blankets and even he cant manage to choke on it!

TheShipsCat · 15/10/2008 11:35

Ellie, taggies are great. Dd1 has had one since she was tiny, and she still won't sleep without it. Or eat breakfast. Or go out. Or anything really!

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:37

Oh, poor you. It's like they know isn't it? At least you've got one of 'em sleeping though, and your other will do tonight.

DD has started to wake for just a teeny sip of milk now, and then she goes back to sleep. If she doesn't get her tiny half and oz she wakes up proper and moans. Not sure what to do about it cos she plainly isn't hungry at night, is just a habit. Might try giving her water instead.

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:38

Thanks ladies, will dig out the taggy and give to her for next nap.

KnitterInTheNW · 15/10/2008 11:44

George hasn't taken to his taggie, or any of the the other cute things he should use as a comforter. Instead he loves to snuggle up to one of these. Numpty.

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:46

Oh bless him. I have some of those too mind, so if the taggie don't work could try it!

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 11:51

lol @ George

When i was a baby i had 'Panda' but when i was about ten i lost him on Brittany ferries

Had the most odd dreams last night!

EllieG · 15/10/2008 11:53

What? Let us interpret for you [gets out crystal ball for ambiance]

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 11:56

Well in the first one we were in a swimming pool, but it had 2 big sharks in. i got out, but for some reason DH had to get something out of the pool and i had to try and distract the sharks for him. they were horrid.

Another one was that the cat was pg, but her womb complete with kittens kept falling out, and me and my friend had to keep putting it back in for her, then one time it fell out and the kittens were born premature, but they had premature ksin like a baby does??

I am not weird, honest.
