OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Soph73 · 14/10/2008 16:05

I'm so of you all as you can get loads of foody bits for your LO's. The only things we can get here are the powdered cereals, baby biccies & jars of baby food - all boring varieties. I remember having a great time in Sainsbury's when DS1 was little because of all the stuff you can get. I can't even give Sam the rice cakes here because they are loaded with salt

pReachyTheExorcist · 14/10/2008 16:20

he stuff you can get here now Soph has gone up massively lately as well! The stuff we could get for ds3 (5) was nothing compared to what's out there now- frozen, fresh, organic, halal... and the premium ones like Ella and Plum charge to match as well- !

Soph73 · 14/10/2008 16:50

It's amazing isn't it? In a way I should thank my lucky stars as my shopping bill is big enough as it is Home time now, check in tomorrow, have good nights everyone xxxxxxx

Denny185 · 14/10/2008 17:13

Evening all.

I cant believe we have a crawler in our midst! DD2 is such a lazy lump she cant even be bothered to roll most of the time, she just shouts a lot and one of the other 2 roll her over, a different kind of development I feel

Swimming - I just use a reusable swim nappy

Sorry u had a bad night Scorpio, teeth maybe??

Kiwi fruit, someone remind me, seeds ok or not? or just green fleshy part?

luckymummy74 · 14/10/2008 19:33

Hi denny (and all you other April ladies!).
Yes I am very pleased that DD2 can now sit unaided!! . She even stood in her cot holding onto the bars for about 25 secs earlier (on 3 separate occasions!) with DH!!! She's such a strong sturdy lass....just like her mother!!

Talk to you soon. Off to Looby's for dinner tomorrow so will call you Thurs with all the gossip news.

EllieG · 14/10/2008 21:40

Oh EVERYONE's babies are more advanced than mine!

[lies through teeth]

Today Molly said a whole sentence! In French! And then she read to me from her latest book (she is reading Jung Chang biography of Mao) and after that we went horse riding together.

Re BLW - tried her with some toast today and she sucked and gummed it into oblivion. Much more successful than banana or rice cake so far.

Hello soph

Sorry mimi woke up so much scorpio, hope you have a better night tonight.

DH is leaving me for 4 nights as he's going home to Wales to see his Dad for a long weekend. Goes on thurs. I am - mostly, it must be said, at the thought of all that parenting that has to happen by myself. Oh, and obviously will miss him etc etc.

EllieG · 14/10/2008 21:41

LOL at denny lazy DD - a girl after mine and my DD's hearts! Very clever getting people to do the rolling for her - she'll go far!

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 14/10/2008 22:58

Alex is crawling(ish) too, he just gets his right hand stuck. (Not like a man to lose his right hand) but then he seems to be telepathically picking up what Bas is doing and following on a week later
I'm going out on Thursday. Actually OUT. WTF shall I wear??!!?!

LadyBee · 14/10/2008 23:04

Molly - good luck with finger food, just remember there's a difference between gagging and choking, gagging happens much more often and is nothing to worry about, just keep a calm and reassuring face on and all should be well
I had my first choke the other day - that little boy was plucked from his chair and over my knees so fast, but it worked and he didn't even panic himself. My poor heart was thumping afterwards but managed to keep going with the meal which I felt really proud about.

Sal - my swimming class makes us use a double nappy system, so we use a disposable swim nappy with a reusable swim nappy over the top. The course gave us the Happy Nappy as part of the fee, but I really like it, it feels very secure and also gives him some added buoyancy (not that he needs it )

Scorpio, B had a bad night the night before he came down with his cold, hope Mimi isn't coming down with it too. Oh meant to mention, your birthday is very close to mine and mimi is very close to Benedict! Spoooky

Sigh..still trying to work out returning to work dates and flexible working application. Boring boring boring.

Is OMa on holiday?

LadyBee · 14/10/2008 23:05

ooohhh going out. Tip no.1. wear a bra that doesn't have clasps on the straps

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 14/10/2008 23:05

I had a choke earlier LadyBee. Alex was faffing around eating ricecakes and decided to lie down sideways He got a bit of ricecake in his throat. I was eerily calm and sorted it in seconds but DP wasn't too impressed!

LadyBee · 14/10/2008 23:07

and start looking for your handbag now. If you're anything like me, your purse, keys, phone etc. will have been living in a change bag for the last six months.

LadyBee · 14/10/2008 23:10

Benedict's was apple. A big sliver broke off.
I've been a bit paranoid while he's been ill as he's prone to coughing fits and I'm worried that he'll do a bit inhale in the middle of eating and take something in.
Still, he seems to time it ok.

LadyBee · 14/10/2008 23:11

a big inhale, I mean.

Peachy · 15/10/2008 09:35

Ellie you should have gotten him to pop you here on the way LOL

BAS is not anywhere close to sitting up yet! ot iterested. I can quite see him being 10 month walker (as ds1 was, we thought ds2 was slow at 11 months - then we were sent ds3 who was 16 months and a taste of reality) but still not sitting down.

He slept fab last night- and he ahd a 15 minute CO session yesterday (because he'd only let her do 45 mins on Saturday so she amde it up). Definitely seeing advantage...

Soph- you should see our shopping bil! Even with no nappies (washables) I can't keep it below £120 a week now, for 6 ays as we're out on Saturdays atm. I know lots of specialist allergy foods don't elp but- !

Peachy · 15/10/2008 09:38

VS- its not just Alex copyng us, you are too- my what shall I wear thread from yesterdat LOL! (and opinions on the dresses appreciated)

becuase we are actually going to the awards! Yay! Mum and dad seem to have cottoned on we've been housebound and are booking their replacement holiday just after. We know we won our main cup (yaaaaay- one carnival left, if we turn up we win it as we've won every one) so even if I have to take Bas (if he doesnt settle with Mum still) we're going.

DonDons · 15/10/2008 09:39

morning all

Had a dreadful night last night - was throwing up from 4pm until 11pm. Luckily A slept through from 7 om and DH came home form work early to look after her. I htink it was a bug (DH also ill at the weekend) - do you think this will pass to A in my breast milk? Am so worried...

Weaning to bottles is just not happening either - almost a week now. Nightmare

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 09:40

i might be a little hungover today, went out last night! only one night feed at 6am today so much happier.

Thanks again for helping me with BF thoughts

VS - oh yes a nice bra, heels and a dress.

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 09:41

Dondons - about bottles - i dont know what im going to do with mimi

your body will pass on immunities, not the illness

Peachy · 15/10/2008 09:42

Dondons- chances are if your dh ahd it she'll get it through regular transmission routes ad will ahve from him before you; your BM however will be the thing cotaining antibodies that hastens her recovery.

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 15/10/2008 09:43

I love this one Peachy
Scorpio, a dress?!?! I'm going to see Dirty Pretty Things, the lead singer is Carl Barat, formerly of The Libertines, i.e. Pete Doherty's bezzy mate. I can't wear a dress!!!

DonDons · 15/10/2008 09:43

We have tried sippys and cups, DH giving the bottle and have ordered a doidy cup to try. Think I will try a different type of bottle too - the tommy teeppee ones look quite nipple-esque. Also think I will try a different type of formula today too.

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 09:45

didnt know where you were going, lol

DonDons · 15/10/2008 09:45

thanks peachy and scorpio - good to be reassured

scorpio1 · 15/10/2008 09:45

try NUK bottles
