OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MadameOvary · 13/10/2008 21:50

Scorpio - which Bug do you have? I have a Bee and nearly returned it, the frame was so stiff. But it was fine after some WD40.

I have just bought some avocado and kiwi fruit. Think I will try courgette next week.
I havent brought down the high chair yet. I put DD in the bouncy chair (which she just about fits into!) or sit her on my knee.
Feeding is still fairly civilised as she hasnt tried to grab the spoon, but its only a matter of time.
I already have the mess mats at the ready

MommyHasaHeadache · 13/10/2008 21:56

Hi MadameOvary! Thanks for reminding me that I still need to get a splash mat.

Oooh nearly forgot - took Gigi swimming today and afterwards she had a 2 hour!!!!!!!! sleep! 2nd time ever! That's when I built the highchair. Yes it took about 2 hours with all the fannying about!

LadyBee · 13/10/2008 22:07

B always sparks out after his swimming - it's brilliant, gives me time to have a nice coffee and catch up with my friend who does the same class.

Right...seeing you're all putting photos up, I've put some up too

And now I'm definitely going to bed...urgh

SalLikesCoffee · 13/10/2008 22:08

hi madameovary

alll swimmers - what do they wear when swimming? disposable swim nappy under reusable one or what do you do?

brilliant news re nap btw mhh!

sorry re bad typing - hanging halfway down sofa

MadameOvary · 13/10/2008 22:19

Sal is your laptop on the sofa too?
SO many times I am holding DD and she is leaning in one direction and I am leaning in the other, trying to type...

EllieG · 13/10/2008 22:22

DD just wears little swimming nappy thing, is reusable and has polka dots and a frilly bit and looks v sweet.

EllieG · 13/10/2008 22:24

Oh babybee is swweeeet! Lovely pics ladybee x

scorpio1 · 14/10/2008 09:14

its a cameleon. never again!

scorpio1 · 14/10/2008 09:18

bad night last night with mimi. oh yes.

MadameOvary · 14/10/2008 09:44

In what way scorpio?

scorpio1 · 14/10/2008 09:55

she woke up about 6 times, i am not joking either!!

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 14/10/2008 10:21

alex and the avocado

Mollyfloss · 14/10/2008 11:40

am trying to get my head around this blw thing. Reading your posts makes it sounds so easy but I can't imagine A chewing on a piece of chicken! I'd be afraid she'd choke! BLW is appealing though as spooning purée in gets a bit boring... What would be a good first finger food that won't freak me out? I've given her banana in one of those net things she can hold but that's as close to BLW I've got so far...

scorpio1 · 14/10/2008 11:41

Rice cake
Banana
toast

all good! Toast is easy.

Soph73 · 14/10/2008 11:42

Morning all - have put some new piccies on. My stupid puter won´t let me into facebook so can´t see Alex VSSnS.
Hi MadameOvary, nice to hear from you
Sam has been rolling over & over in the cot at Nursery according to his monitor. He turns sideways then rolls down to one end then back to the other ... weirdo must get it from DH
Scorpio - sorry to hear you had a bad night. Hopefully she´ll have lots of naps today
Hi ElliG

Soph73 · 14/10/2008 11:45

Sal - am very I´d love to see Aida.
Mollyfloss - I´m the same as you, very worried that Sam would choke if I gave him something to eat himself. At the moment Sam´s favourite food is .... everything & anything I give him. He´s definitely a true member of the family as we are all pigs good eaters

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 14/10/2008 12:16

Soph, I've put it on my profile.

Molly, as scorpio said rice cakes and toast are easy, also lightly roasted carrot/potato batons (they kind of bite the top off and suck out the inside) avocado (cut into 4 lengthways, they can't manage to eat the skin so shred bits off of the actual flesh - alex also likes avocado spread on his rice cakes) green beans. Pretty much anything easy to hold, then just go from there.

MadameOvary · 14/10/2008 12:38

scorpio if its any consolation DD always wakes at least four times a night, am pretty much used to it and its bearable as she isnt screaming and usually settles pretty quickly.
Having said that tho, the last two nights she has woken at 1am and just wanted to play and babble. The first time she settled herself, the second I figured she was hungry, which she was.

I tried giving her pear, which she loved, but the second time she gagged and I got too freaked out to try again. I do give her mashed banana which is quite lumpy though.
Hi Soph

Soph73 · 14/10/2008 12:40

He does look like he's enjoying himself VSSnS Can't wait until Sam's strong enough to go in a high chair then I'm definitely giving him chunks of food to fling around everywhere Thank god for tiled floors

MadameOvary · 14/10/2008 13:46

Great pic VS - he's lovely
Makes me want to try avocado too.
Have just given DD Ellas Butternut Squash carrot apple and prunes which she loved.
Am expecting some pretty impressive nappies after that, not that they aren't already - 4 yesterday

pReachyTheExorcist · 14/10/2008 13:59

Ah yes I remember the post- Ella's prunes nappy.

I left it to DH, and didn't explain until afterwards

hee hee.

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 14/10/2008 14:03

LOL Peachy.

Mollyfloss · 14/10/2008 15:38

Ok, will try some rice cakes then to start with. I haven't done wheat yet so will hold off on the toast. There is no family history of allergies but there is eczema and this could put her at more risk of allergies apparently... (?) I am doing every new food for three days... am I being a little too cautious?

pReachyTheExorcist · 14/10/2008 15:52

No you're doing right

remember that you canget gluten free bread etc from the allergy section of the supermarket; I have seen advice that famillies with eczma hold off on gluten until a year

Soph73 · 14/10/2008 16:01

Madameovary - 4 yukky nappies, that is impressive I wasn´t too fazed this time with Sam's nappies as he's formula fed & so was DS1 so they were all pretty disgusting They are very solid now so he's obviously processing food better - sorry if TMI

My auntie's coming tomorrow & I'm so excited because I haven't seen her for ages Have got to go home & pretend to clean after school today - yuk!
