Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 14:35

Well done Lilyloo! Good luck with application. And the CC. We did 3,5,7,9,mins BTW in case you're interested.

Lucky Well done Aaliyah!

Gingeme - congratulations on the weight loss. I've suddenley lost a bit for no apparent reason. I can finally SQEEEEEZe on a pai rof my pre-baby trousers (although they used to hang off my waist). How's the foot?

Simpson - how are DCs today?

JKS- Sorry about the horrible sleep. It was a pity Amani left the thread isn't it? I didn't think we'd seemed 'perfect' at all!

Well, we had yet another HV today and she told me to stop weighing Sabela as she was obviously fine . I wish one of the others had said that as if she's fine now then she has been for 9 months.

We're all pointing waving and clapping here. Sabela thinks it's hilarious if she points at us and we do it back. She's also started pushing her face against my breast, through my T'shirt, and going something like 'yumumumumumumumummuyumumumumumumumumumumumumumummmm' when we're in public, so I'm not sure how our plans to wean in December are going to go.

Lilyloo · 12/11/2008 14:37

LaT why did Amani leave ?

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 14:47

She felt we all had perfectly behaved babies (eating, sleeping) LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

simpson · 12/11/2008 15:07

Hi all

I didn't realise that was why Amani left

Ds seems fine but DD has the appetite of a sparrow Can't even tempt her to eat a biscuit

Well...all my Xmas shopping is finished

Just have to persuade DH that Ds REALLY does need a wheelybug and thats it!!

Although some of my friends Lo's birthdays are straight after Xmas....

Lilyloo - Well done on exam!!!

Have to dash...got to pick up Ds from pre school

nicky6 · 12/11/2008 15:14

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 15:38

Hi NIcky - good luck with the work and nursery!

Sorry about DD simpson. What about custard? I only give this to DD when I'm desperate as she thinks it is the most stupendous thin gon earth.

Come back Amani!

Gingeme · 12/11/2008 15:45

LaTrucha no goal just plodding along with no gaols then I seem to be losing it better that way. A few treats along the way ofcourse
What have I missed about Amani?
Simpson ds4 has been a bit like that the past couple of days. Only realy eating breakfast and picking through the day. I'm sure hell eat when hes hungry.
My toe isn't as sore today thanks for asking
Just been to ds3's parents evening. He's doing very well. Ha a very good reading ability
Well off to make some after school snacks.
Hope you are all well. xx

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 15:55

Oh god - I wisj I hadn't mentioned Amani! Poor girl, if she reads this she'll be embarrassed and I didn't mean her to be! Her DD isn't sleeping well and she started a thread about it. People from her two post-natal groups posted and she said she left them because she felt we had good sleeping and feeding babies and that hers wasn't.

She should have stuck around, eh? (...LaTrucha yawns and looks towards tomorrow's pre-dawn wakening...)

Not sure when MM is back.

simpson · 12/11/2008 16:02

Poor Amani Come back!!!

LaT - DD can't have any dairy When Ds was a baby snd ill like this you used to devour yogurt. Guess if throat is sore it just slides down...

Gingeme - Bet you are very proud of DS3!!

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 16:06

Sorry Simpson, must have missed that.

simpson · 12/11/2008 16:12

Took her to doc as she was screaming and straining ALL day and doing 8 poos a day. My gut instinct was a problem with dairy so have cut out EVERYTHING except ff (she seems ok on cow & gate)Doc agreed.

We have first appt with pead tomorrow. Having dairy intolerance would explain all those times she was constipated

Am hoping she will grow out of it otherwise she will miss out on custard, yogurt, chocolate...

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 16:21

I do remember that now. Sorry! I think many do grow out of it, don't they?

simpson · 12/11/2008 16:29

Gp seems to think she may well have grown out of it by age 2.

Guess I will find out more at hosp though....

Think there is something else setting her off as she was straining/screaming yesterday

JustKeepSwimming · 12/11/2008 19:40

Couldn't function this morning for usual morning post!

went to orch 7.30-9.30, came back to babysitter trying to settle H (glad he didn't phone me actually, good bloke!), H had been up since 8.30.
9.40 - fed (not properly and not back to sleep)
9.40-10.40 H muttering and odd grumble, me MNing waiting for peace
10.40 - crying, fed this time properly he fell asleep.
11 - light out
12 - cat howling downstairs with dead mouse.
disposed of said mouse back to bed with filthy glare at cat
2ish - H crying, gave some Calpol he went back to sleep
4-ish - sodding cat howling again with another mouse, this time in the bedroom, dead at least, shouted at him and he ran away!
5.55 - H up for the day
6 - T up.

yaaaawwwwwwnnnnn

so in bed now with laptop, allowing myself a bit of time on MN, email, etc.
house is a tip, laundry piles everywhere, toys all over the floor, have abandoned and come to bed with ice-cream
told DH to stay in london tonight so had fish and chips for tea with the boys (yum!) and hoping to get enough (ha!) sleep tonight....

CC is fast approaching though have gone for Calpol night approach tonight. his back teeth are def just under the surface, he grinned at me when i rubbed his gums earlier. hope that's it and they hurry up!

sorry, no personals from me - just hello and sleep vibes to all babies

LaTrucha · 12/11/2008 19:46

Wishing you a peaceful night, JKS.

Lilyloo · 12/11/2008 19:58

Poor Amani where did she get that idea from ?

JKS poor you hope the cat is better behaved tonight

Simpson good luck with apt tom and hope dd feeling better soon sounds like the bug dd and MM ds had!

simpson · 12/11/2008 20:28

positive sleeping vibes for all LOs tonight

DD had no tea so she could wake anytime...

Lilyloo - Are you doing CC tonight? If so good luck

JustKeepSwimming · 13/11/2008 06:25

How did everyone's nights go?

Am so torn about the whole CC thing (not helped by certain comments on amani's thread ).
Really want to be posting on here on Mon morning:

"well after 4 nights (or less!) of CC I can't believe the difference, we are all getting a better night's sleep and i feel human for the first time in over a year..."

but then i lose the will (for anything) when it comes to H crying and potentially waking T and think soddit, just feed you.

Last night was better:
7.15 - I got into bed
8.20 - lights off (too much MN )
12.30 - H woke, fed and back to sleep pretty quickly
5.25 - H woke, tried to creep downstairs with him
5.35 - T up

First pre-6am day for T in days and it's H's fault not his.
argh.
but i got 4+4.5hrs so not too bad.

Hope anyone doing CC had a good night...

simpson · 13/11/2008 07:58

Had a bad night here

Midnight - DS crying I went into his room
"DS what is the matter?"
"Mummy my toe hurts"

1.30am DS crying again I went into his room
"DS what is the matter?"
"Mummy my pjs are wet"
"DS only the cuff is wet because you are chewing it"

3am DS crying again I go in his room
"DS what is the matter?"
"Mummy I don't want to close my eyes" AHHHHHHHHH

Then all his noise wakes up DD and am up with her for an hour.

I know DS is doing it because he got lots of sympathy when he was ill and now there is nothing wrong, he still wants it

JKS - I know what you mean about other thread but think if you are going to do CC just ignore it. Easier said than done I know!!

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2008 13:06

Hey ladies I'm here catching up all good here ....

MrsMcJnr · 13/11/2008 14:20

Hey ladies hope all is well with all of you. DS is not sleeping well and that?s not helping with the morning sickness, otherwise all fine with us

JKS ? thanks for all your advice hon I do appreciate it. I should try harder to make my dad understand what?s important to me and that times have changed but some days its hard enough to get through the day with the morning sickness and looking after DS without a battle on top of that. I got a bit tearful last night as I am avoiding my Dad which I feel sad about but I just can?t cope with his comments at the moment. He gave DH 25 sheets of paper for me to notarise on Tues night and yesterday first thing he was asking for them back and DH tried to explain that I hadn?t had time yet but he just didn?t get it! DH keeps trying to take things out of my Dad?s hands at work but he makes comments like ?but that means I?d have to show you first? which is not particularly inspirational for poor DH anyway we?ll get there somehow Ah yes, I know who Stephanie is now glad DS enjoyed the fireworks they are so much fun but it is such a shame when they are scared of them isn?t it? DN1 loved them last year aged but DN2 at 1 ½ was terrified! Hope you are getting more sleep now. What a morning you had yest!

Hi Lilyloo- hope the exam was good I do admire you sitting exams with little ones! so sorry about the lack of sleep ? it is a form of torture isn?t it? Hope things improve!

Angechica DH took DS out to the pub to watch the football on Sat so I could cook dinner; it was a disaster, every time someone roared DS cried so DH ended up taking him to the park instead interesting thoughts about that odd woman at LaT?s group. Sounds like a plan re the nicer groups I?ve been really lucky with all of the ladies I?ve met here. Only weird one was a girl I was at school with. I hadn?t seen her for 20 years but remembered she was odd and still is, her little girl of 1yr only snacked on lemon slices ? sorry if no one else thinks that?s weird!

Hey Lucky clever Aaliyah!

Poor you Gingeme we?ve had some rough nights too but like you, by the time you get some time to nap you?ve almost got over the urge hope things get better soon! Well done on the weight loss I?d just got back into things and now they are getting tight again it?s a good reason though I guess! Missed that about your toe? What?s wrong?

Hey Simpson LOL at buying your bro a new wardrobe, bet you enjoyed it too! how is DD feeling? Hope her appointment goes well. That?s amazing about your Grandmother my Gran is really into tracing family (she?s 85!) and found some long lost cousins on the internet who live 30 mins away! Hope you are managing to keep MIL away, how is DH doing? All the best for his appointment tomorrow. And how are you feeling? I hate being forced to sell raffle tickets wow! Finished Christmas shopping, what a woman!! I have a few more to get still.

LaT ? I wouldn?t invite that woman round if I were you, you?ve had enough to deal with recently, stick to spending time with nice, positive people (like us ) thanks for your advice on my Dad. To date, I am the only one out of his kids who has a decent relationship with him and I am sad that that is changing glad to hear Sabela has some new tricks DS has learnt to dance, it?s so cute, he just shrugs his shoulders and bends his knees Really sad to hear that?s why Amani left miss her!

Filly ? sorry to hear things are tough at work dying to hear how Tamara is getting on and DS of course

Hey Nicky6 ? hope the whole transition back to work goes well

LaTrucha · 13/11/2008 14:46

JKs - you probably know this already but I'll say it again. I was against CC, completely bu twe were on our knees and desperate. I decided to try it for a very limited period, but to do it absolutely to the letter. If I'd seen no improvement after three days, I'd have stopped. I can't believe how quickly sho got better. She doesn't even wake at all now until 5am.

Even on the first few nights, she wasn't so upset that she didn't stop crying as soon as she heard my foot on the stair. I am absolutely positive that it has done her no harm and a lot of good. As you might have seen I though Green Dragon's post was silly.

I'm wouldn't sat to everyone that CC is the answer but I would say that if you're really at the end of your wick, it might be worth a short test period.

I've had my say.

Hey MrsMc - have yo got a wee belly yet? Has dad let up at all?

Hey Lily - how did your night go?

Simspon - sounds like a rough night! My friends little girl did something similar for a week recently. She used to sit in her cot pretend sobbing saying, 'broken, my leg is broken'! It's quite funny if it's notyou. The 'I don't want to close my eyes!' is hilarious. But I do feel sorry for you too.

Sabela has definitely decided that he day atarts around 5am. Two weeks ago this much sleep would have been heaven but (don't punch me please you bleary-eyed mummies!)I'd love to know how to get her to sleep one more hour! Maybe just a matter of time.

Lilyloo · 13/11/2008 14:59

Not seen Amani's thread but surely it's what works best for you.
IMO ds was allowed to dictate sleep routine here and he was 3 before he learnt to settle himself back to sleep in the night fwiw i don't thinki that was fair on him or us and we should have intervened sooner in enabling him to learn to settle himself.
Last night dd went down at 7 up at 10 for feed. She woke again at 1 where we both resettled her with tears on and off for half an hour. She then slept until 3.30 when i fed her but took an hour to settle after deciding to do a poo but slept until 7!
So tonight same again but going to take the 3.30 feed until 4.30 fingers crossed we will get there!

Am also trying to get her to take both breasts and see if she will take more of a feed that way!

JustKeepSwimming · 13/11/2008 15:05

LaT - i know i know. i get things straight in my head, then venture out into the wider MN world and get all confused/guilty again!
then i retreat back here and wonder why i earth i let myself get sucked in.
and i really honestly not at all think that ds1 is traumatised from the cc we did with him when he was about this age after an illness messed up his perfect sleep.

so, think we may need to do something as i am a cr*p mum atm, just let ds1 watch tv, and hardly play with ds2 properly when he's awake.
(he's been napping since 12.15 )
but i saw the tip of a molar this morning
so maybe that is progress and this too shall pass....

and is it that bad to have wants when you're a parent? i mean we are people too....and breathe...

MrsMc - as usual a fab catch-up! can i just second everything she said and get the brownie points anyway?

you can't avoid your dad for ever but maybe for a while to help yourself gain the courage to stand up to him?

simpson - sympathies on the bad night. hope he's knackered and there are no problems tonight.
how was doc appt? how is dh?

we were going to try an indoor play place but ds2 still sleeping....

Lilyloo · 13/11/2008 15:07

12.15 dd has been asleep since 1 and i just about to go wake her to do school run as ds has choir practice tonight and got to nip to Asda to get something for tea first!

JKS don't listen do what feels best for you!
