Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:04

Poor you Lilyloo

not great here either
Wish i had appreciated ds1 and his good sleeping at this stage!
ds2 up 10.30 - 12 on and off and 4.30 when he woke ds1 too.
ds1 up at 6, ds2 up at 7.

ds2 fell asleep in the car coming home from nursery at 5 this evening, nothing was waking him up so put him in bed....will pay later i'm sure but i figure i will be up anyway so what the heck?!

ds1 has only just gone to bed ( i think) after nearly 2 hours of crying, getting up, complaining, etc.
not sure but i think he must have had a sleep at nursery despite me telling them not to let him.
will have to repeat it tomorrow - NO NAP!!!

so done nothing this eve, have to get some Christmas bits tomorrow morning, maybe go to bf group depending on DS2 and his sleep.

sure i meant to respond to some specific things but brain is mush

JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:07

oh yes, family tree. i've been doing dh's (my mum did loads on mine years ago) for years now.
glad to give any tips, do any lookups on ancestry.co.uk (best site i've found and i have a subscription), etc.
very addictive i warn you now

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:10

JKS ok won't take the trophy yet
Thought i was on my own there for a minute but we have kept each other company through this nightmare actually!
It is like functioning in a fog isn't it ?
I constantly tell dd1 she is my best sleeper! Just sad i thought that was because i had cracked it after ds Oh well when you get pg with no3 you know what your letting yourself in for i guess!

Simpson don't bother. I usually buy a pound worth and give the rest back! After buying the lot for ds the first time asked and winning 'nothing' !

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:11

Simpson on family tree my gran also brought up in an orphanage she won't find out her family am guessing she was born out of wedlock! But she will never find out!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:19

Lily - i'm quite happy to leave the trophy to you, honest i am

simpson - bah humbug to raffles tickets!! glad thurs is sorted. hope docs leave well alone with dh - unless he feels ready to reduce the meds?

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:22

I really don't want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She now screaming again after tow feeds at 6.30 and 7 !
DP taken bottle water up and told me that we need to rethink bf !
She won't take water !
Still screaming (aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh)

JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:33

oh lily - i am getting to that point like your dh - and i'm a committed bf-er but really i am starting to wonder...
who cares if ff is harder to digest if it keeps him asleep....

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:36

I know she still crying on and off i hate to think it's the bf that's causing this
My only solace is that ds was like this and dd1 wasn't all bf!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:38

yes ds1 was fine and he was bf until 12.5 months.

if it wasn't for that i'm pretty sure i would have quit by now just to try ff to see...

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:39

We now arguing as i want to go and feed her he says wait

JustKeepSwimming · 10/11/2008 21:40

ah soddit, one way or the other she will be fed, now while you're still up or later just as you've fallen asleep...

i'm off to bed now and i guarantee ds2 will wake once i'm asleep....

simpson · 10/11/2008 21:44

Lilyloo - think you may as well do whatever you can to get through next few days till after exam then re assess.

Will she feed or just mess around?

Also nothing worse than lying in bed waiting for crying to start....maybe feed her and hope she lasdts for a few hrs?

JKS - sorry you are not getting much sleep either

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 21:55

i fed her , she does feed will do cc again def Wed night in celebration

Thanks Simpson , JKS hope you get good night !

Kids eh !

LuckySalem · 10/11/2008 21:59

Lilly - Is it possible she's not getting enough? I don't know enough about BFing to weigh in on this but when she comes off, is she just having a breather or is she def finished? Also - try expressing just to check that your flow is still there?

Lilyloo · 10/11/2008 22:08

Evening Lucky thanks!
Flow still there as when she get's distracted as she often does it goes everywhere!
I think you are right on the not getting enough though! I do feel she has got into a snacking habit rather than filling herself up! She will often feed for few min then look around at what's going on! I think with a bottle it would still be offered throughout this but when bf i don't want my boob wafting around
Therefore she distracted enough for an hour or two before she wants more.
But don't know how to get her to take more in a feed , even if that's the problem ?
Only 3 dc's in so no expert!

But this is still a problem at night (with no distraction) so think it's a habit !

JustKeepSwimming · 11/11/2008 06:11

Lily - hope you got in an ok night.
not too awful here though ds1 didn't given in until 8.45
(given he was complaining about being tired at the fireworks and wanted to go home and go to bed even when they were going off and that was only 8pm i think it's a bit unfair of him!).
ds2 up at 12-12.30 (went back to sleep pretty quickly by his current standards)
and then 5.30 fed, didn't want to go back to sleep which is fair enough really as he had been in bed 12hours by then.
so we are downstairs and i'm wishing he would keep the noise down as i really want ds1 to sleep longer this morning to catch up. otherwise i know what will happen, he will be knackered at nursery and will sleep there and tonight, the same palaver will happen.

right, off to waste time on computer games - MN has introduced me to some real time-wasting habits!!

Lilyloo · 11/11/2008 09:06

Well at least she had her hour crying before i went to bed last night!
Up for 3 feeds though before up for the day at 6!
DP got up with her i stayed in bed until 8 though so don't feel too bad!

JKS hope lo has a good sleep for playgroup!

Off to the books today have a good one all

LaTrucha · 11/11/2008 09:16

I was hoping you'd had a good night Lily. SOrry

How about you JKS?

DD up at 5, which would have been heaven two weeks ago, but I had the foolishness to be annoyed.

LuckySalem · 11/11/2008 10:16

Lilly - Try expressing if you want to continue BF at least that way she's still getting BM and you're getting some sleep?

Or if you really want to FF just do the night feed (thats what I did before I gave up)

simpson · 11/11/2008 10:27

Morning all

Sorry to hear about the early starts and broken nights sleep.

DD is really not well this morning so is going to doc with DH to gate crash his appt. She has temp, sniffles and totally off all food/milk.And has sicked up some of what she ate by coughing so much

DS on the other hand seems much better and is in front room watching Tom & Jerry, his latest favourite programme!!

Not feeling to good myself so toddler group definately off today as have to try and feel better by tomorrow as DH back at work.

Gingeme · 11/11/2008 12:18

Afternoon ladies.
Another 5.30 start here this morning not impressed!
Still managed to go playgroup. George was asleep by the time we got there though and slept for about an hour in his buggy. Woke up just as the biscuits were bought out thats my boy!
Had my toe done at the docs yesterday. It was a ganglion which is a pouch of the fluid in between your joint thats had leaked a bit. Anyway the doc numbed it and squeezed it like a zit. Bloody painful today and quite bruised too
Anyway enough moaning from me. Time for lunch.
oN a better note I tried a pair of size 16 jeans on on Saturday and they fitted That means Ive lost roughly a stone. Time to buy some new jeans me thinks

simpson · 11/11/2008 20:16

Hi all

Feeling a bit better now thank God. Managed to have a nice nap this afternoon and DH is taking tomorrow as a days holiday too.

DD not a happy bunny, she does not seem to be eating much. She has had about 10 ozs milk today and not much solids but at least she has kept it down. Doc says if she is no better by thursday to take her back.

Lilyloo - how is revision going? good luck for tomorrow!!

Gingeme - Great news on weight loss

Hope everyone else is ok...

LuckySalem · 11/11/2008 23:50

Just quick [proud mummy alert]

Aaliyah stood alone for a whole 10 seconds. She would have stood for longer but suddenly realised I wasn't holding her panicked and fell on her butt!! I'm so chuffed as I thought she wouldn't try cos she's crawling everywhere.

Gingeme · 12/11/2008 13:25

Yay Aaliyah xx
