DH seems ok ATM but D day is tuesday when he is back at work. Will see how he copes although I have to say he has been fab with DCs and I have left him to it a lot of the time. Even DD who is hard work!!!

Going back to my mum's tomorrow for a few days. Typical me, all yr on mat leave have been saying not going back then when I have 2 weeks to decide am thinking of going back to work so thinking about nursery/child minders etc!!!

Would love a cat but DH scared of them. My mum just had hers put down (was very ill but only 4yrs old ) DS keeps asking where it is. Not sure how to explain death to a 3yr old!!

LuckySalem · 19/10/2008 22:52

When the cats pass we're planning on using that they've gone for a long walk to a big farm where they can play with their brothers and sisters. Then when she's old enough we'll explain it better.

simpson · 19/10/2008 23:02

The way Ds is he would ask to go on the long walk to big farm with the fecking cat!!

His catch phrase ATM is if I say "no" to anything he says "mummy its not very nice to say no!!"

What do you say to that?!! Sometimes i say "But I have to!!"

LuckySalem · 19/10/2008 23:08

LMAO - I like your DS! He's funny!

I'm stuck at the moment with Salem on my lap trying to get the wire from the mouse!!

Right gotta go round the kittens up and go to bed. Might even have a cup of tea and some biccies to take with me!

nightmare managed to trap nerve in neck/shoulder at 3am this morning been in agony all night. took 2 nurofen extra on empty stomach this morning and then had chronic heartburn but neck a bit better. physio this afternoon.

charlie obliging me by having long morning sleep whilst i sort myself out

Housemum · 20/10/2008 12:28

Luckysalem - don't worry about teeth yet - DD1 had her 1st tooth at 11mths, DD2 at 8 mths, DD3 at 4.5 mths - too soon to worry yet, maybe after 12 mths?

Simpson - love the "not very nice to say no" - I just have the stroppy 5 year old saying to me "you're mean and horrid and I don't love you" to which I just say "yes but the answer is still no, and I still love you".

nicky - hope the physio sorts you out.

Proud mum time - Amelie stood on her own for 10 seconds at toddler group a couple of times this morning!! I was soooo excited Of course, she probably won't do it for daddy tonight, but it did happen, honest!

Gingeme · 20/10/2008 12:49

Afternoon all.
Lol at your lo's with their reactions. If I tell David 'no' he says 'I'm not your friend Mummy, I'm Daddys friend and Edwards friend and Georges friend but not your friend'. So I say but I'm still your friend David.
The kittens and cats sound just lovely LuckySalem. I remember when we used to have a cat when I lived at home nd we introduced a kitten. The kitten used to hiss like mad at the cat and put his little back up and everything and the cat used to look down his nose at him as if to say 'yeah, whatever'. So funny. They soon got on ok.
Well everyones on the mend here thank goodness. Had a better night with George. He only woke up the once as usual.
I have been sorting through our halloween stuff eady for Saturday. Got some good stuff and not too bad prices either. Looking forward to it.
Going to pop into our local playgroup Wednesday to sign Edward up for after half term. He'll go for 2 mornings a week. We go to a playgroup Tues and Friday mornings so were thinking of Wed and Thurs morning for him. He's gonna be knackered.
Well going to make some lunch now.
Hope your all well
Nicky6 ouch ! Have you got a number of a osteopath ? Shame you don't live near me I could recomend a good one.

simpson · 20/10/2008 13:09

Nicky Hope you feel better soon.

Housemum - can't believe Amelie stood by herself!!! LOL at your 5yr old!!

Can't believe my Ds only has one more week at playgroup Time has flown!! He starts pre school on 6th November....

LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 13:45

Just started looking at my course and they've sent the wrong one. Instead of Eng lit they've send Eng Language. Ahh well will do this instead I spose, much easier than returning to wait for the other one.

simpson · 20/10/2008 18:18

Back at my mum's for a couple of days so may not be able to get on much.

DH back at work tomorrow after being off for a month. Will see how he copes. Think I am more stressed about it than he is

DD been good today although am really stressing about her ff consumption as she has had a total of about 14ozs today. She will not take any more than that and she is not having any cheese, milk or yogurt etc. Oh well am back at doc next tuesday with her so will see what she says....

Lucky - the other thing my DS is obsessing about ATM is who turns all the streetlights on!!! And how do they know when it is dark etc. I think he thinks there is a man in a little room pressing switches and buttons etc Sorry they sent the wrong course for you.

LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 18:25

Eng language WAY too hard. So have asked for it to be swapped but i'm gonna have to wait till December as they're busy changing the sylabus at the moment.

I'm sitting here typing while aaliyah is trying to get the stairgate to open through sheer strength my cats are sleeping on the sofas (one each ofcourse) and the kittens are running amock on the floor. Tis lovely though. Nice busy household its exactly what I want. That's why I want another baby as well but money will decide that one.

Simpson - Bless your DS, have you tried telling him their magic and "just know" lol

Gingeme · 20/10/2008 19:30

What you saying Simpson that there isn't a little man in each street lamp knowing when to turn them on . You'll be telling me theres no Santa next

JustKeepSwimming · 20/10/2008 20:16

well i had great plans to catch up properly today when ds1 was at nursery but...

anyway, ds2 had his first visit there today, played with some toys, admired himself in the mirror and had some tea.
ds1 thought it all v entertaining!
we have another settling in session next week when i'll leave him in the baby room and go and play with ds1 - looking forward to that bit
then 2 mondays time i go to work and both boys go to nursery for the full day.
wavering.....
and still not sure about the whole bf/miss feeds/just give water/hope for the best part of the plan...

got some ebay stuff posted off today and ironing done plus wrapped more christmas presents - i am so organised
the water tank will probably leak and flood the house or something!

dh back in london again but at least i get to watch csi in peace and go to bed early

lucky - how aggravating domestic bliss, ahhh

simpson - hope dh work goes ok.

nicky - the way you wrote about dh's work made me think he was the one on trial

um, hello everyone else

madmouse · 20/10/2008 21:36

hello

how's everyone?

nothing exciting here, have just followed Lucky to a facebook group for cute baby pics and when I saw this week's subject was smiling I just had to enter Nathan's beetroot pic (it is on my profile for non-facebookers) although I have just voted for an impossibly cute 8month old

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 21:49

madmouse · 20/10/2008 22:08

not saying A is not adorable of course...

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 22:09

Cough cough?! You thought my Aaliyah not that cute?! eh? eh!? LOL. Have looked once you said and he is cute! - Although you haven't voted - you have to write VOTE under the photo or it doesn't count.

madmouse · 20/10/2008 22:12

ok thanks

will vote, but can't do that yet right? Gives me a chance to vote for A to keep you off my back

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 22:14

Yeh yeh vote now for ANYONE you want!

MrsMcJnr · 20/10/2008 22:16

Nicky ? poor you, I know how you feel, I?ve done something to my shoulder and its agony

Housemum ? well done Amelie love your response to DS!

Glad all are on the mend at your house Ginge!

Lucky ? that?s annoying about the course! are you TTC again then hon?

JKS ? how do you do it all hon?

Madmouse ? lovely pic

LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 22:19

no not yet MrsMc Can't afford another child at the moment and am really sad about it as I don't want much of an age gap at all, yes it will be hard to deal with 2 under 2 but I want to do it!! I want to have a big family and I want to do it all in one go (if that makes sense) but DP keeps saying how he's worried about the economy and how we're always skint (yes we're skint but its lovely)

MrsMcJnr · 20/10/2008 22:23

Maybe I am being really naïve but I can?t see that a second baby is going to cost us much, not initially anyway. We have everything we need for a baby as we?ve just done it ? is that a crazy perspective?

LuckySalem · 20/10/2008 22:27

no - thats partly my perspective but DP thinks that things are so bad that we're gonna lose the house and end up in a council flat where aaliyah will have to share a room with us! stupid man!! Its cos he keeps reading the newspapers!!!! They're not gonna sell copies with "things are still not good" are they? only with "argh the world is ending" and I wish he would stop believeing that!!
It's not gonna cost us much to begin with as we've already got it all and by the time we have to start buying stuff for new baby economy will be way better as thats in at least another year!
