Glad you liked roast Gingeme I tried DD on some mashed swede which she loved...

Going to do a "tester" pot of yogurt at lunch and see what happens tomorrow. Her baby porridge is supposed to be made up with water but I have been using milk anyway as thought it might make it taste nicer but have gone back to water the last couple of days.

My only concern is does this mean she is getting enough calcium?? She currently drinks 20 ozs ff a day??

Lucky - hope you are ok...

Angechica - glad you were not "subjected" to darts for 2hrs like me!!!

JKS - DD seems to go through the night more often than not... maybe wakes one night in 10 (have definately tempted fate now!!) She is in her own room and has been since 3 weeks old (I was in with her due to DH's shift work - then I kind of slipped out iyswim!!)She is spoon feed but taking more and more finger foods then I will stop spoon...

MrsMcJnr · 12/10/2008 22:22

Hey all hope you are having a good weekend. I?m shattered and had some spotting today which is always such a worry when you are pg; hopefully all is ok with B2! (Everything crossed)

Housemum ? wow, busy life! Any time for you? DS decided he?d has enough BFing at 6 ½ months, I was quite sad as wanted to carry on with some of the feeds for longer but he had other ideas. Amelie is gorgeous by the way she stands incredibly well too!

How are you all finding your babies daytime sleep patterns? Xavier?s has gone up the spout the last week from being a great routine (wee sleep mid morning, long sleep mid afternoon) and I need to find a new routine quickly as I am feeling frazzled with no Mummy time during the day ? help!

JKS ? glad you are getting some respite! 42 months wow! I?m now on month 22 of that scenario! I think it might be DS?s molars too from where he keeps prodding. Have had a few family episodes of the mole removal/testing thing, we all agree that the best place for anything worrying is out ? fingers crossed that all is fine x well done on the weight loss! It?s so hard isn?t it?

Gingeme ? LOL at your post, do you sometimes feel like you have 6 boys rather than 5? hope the new arrangement for the boys works well.

Lilyloo ? hope the sleep improves in your house too. That said, X woke me every hour last night, crying in his sleep ? teeth I reckon.

Simpson ? glad you enjoyed the meal sorry to hear those worries about DD and the possible milk allergy

Madmouse ? I agree that this age is lovely

Angechica ? glad you had a good night out

Bed for me shattered and up too late again!

Cazzybaby · 12/10/2008 23:11

Evening all

I've been awol this weekend, have clocked up a total of 24 hours at work over the last 3 days so feeling very tired and have sore feet!

MrsMcJnr - hope all is well with the little bean, maybe spotting is implant bleed? Make sure you are getting as much rest as pos (hard I know with little one). I had bleeding up till 21 weeks with DD and she was fine!

JKS - I have a good sleeper here, she is bottle fed, on puree, and in her own room. Sleeps from about 7 through till 7,has a bottle then goes back down till about 9. Dont know how I would cope if she didnt as I usually work untill about midnight and dont get to bed till 1am I've probably jinxed myself now and she will start waking in the night!

Hi to everyone else, hope you have all had lovely weekends. Gingeme - your roast sounds lovely made me really fancy one, might do one for DP tomorrow evening.

Housemum · 13/10/2008 00:36

JKS - here's my addition:

JKS-bf & blw-up once or more a night, 1 sibling, own room
Housemum - BF & mix finger foods/homemade/jars, wakes once 5am, 2 siblings, shares room with one

simpson · 13/10/2008 13:52

Hi all

Taking DD to doc tomorrow re dairy so will see what she says. DH also got appt later on in the day with same doc so hopefully that goes well too...

DH taken Dcs to park for a bit, don't know what to do with myself!! Going for long soak in bath I think

Mrs Mcjnr - hope you are ok and spotting didn't mean much. Hopefully as Cazzy said its implantation I had it with DS too.

Hope everyone else ok?...

Gingeme · 13/10/2008 13:52

Just a quick one from me.
We all slept much better last night and ds4 slept lovely in his big bed with real quilt, rather than his sleeping bag.
ds3 at home today. Has a bit of a temp and a nasty cough. He seems to be a bit cooler after a couple of doses of Calpol.
Well off to Iceland now.
Hope your all well xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 13/10/2008 14:01

Iceland seems a tad drastic Gingeme, esp if the calpol is working...

got so much i should be doing/need to do while Tom is at nursery, why does time fly when he's there????
Henry currently in door bouncer squealing happily, i'm wrapping christmas presents and watching the news.

oh, tip, debenhams has a sale on (well did yesterday!) and they have some kids toys in it too. got H a push along dog thing for 7.50 instead of 15. he was eyeing it up as i was wrapping it - is that cruel do you think wrapping in front of him?! at least i know he's interested in it

what is everyone (except Simpson and her hoover!) getting their dh/dps? i have NO ideas. well he likes whicky/real ale but he drinks too much already and is meant to be on a diet so that's hardly helpful...books? i have so many ideas for kids and myself, lol!

Housemum · 13/10/2008 14:09

JKS - does your DH like rugby? I've bought tickets for the Rugby World Cup in Twickenham next year for £10 each (normally £30) but the offer finishes today. Obviously no idea who will be in final, but DH is sport-mad as are his friends so bought 4 tickets on basis that they would have a good day out (it's April 18th).

Offer ends today:

www.edfenergycup.com/9552_9534.php

Housemum · 13/10/2008 14:09

obviously that only works if you are in the South as well! Not such a bargain if you are in the Outer Hebrides or something!

Housemum · 13/10/2008 14:12

check before typing - was meant to say EDF cup (trying to do about 3 things at once here!!) ie the Rugby equivalent of the FA cup. I knew what I meant...

fillybuster · 13/10/2008 14:57

Hi all,

Feel like I barely ever get a chance to get on here these days, sorry!! But I'm back at work in exactly 2 weeks and given that C&W have now completed the takeoever and my job basically no longer exists, I'll have a good few weeks of twiddling my thumbs and waiting to find out whether I'm unemployed whilst trying to find ways to pass time at my desk in the office.......so I imagine you'll be seeing a lot more of me again then!!! [mixed emotions emoticon needed here, I think]

Susie - sorry to hear the bad news, thinking of you

Cazzy & MM - so glad both of your los are doing so well

MrsMc - I know, that coffee in Glasgow feels like a very very long time ago, doesn't it? No, haven't heard from Lolo for quite a while - I did get a text a while back saying everything was ok but that's about it. Oh dear, now I feel guilty for not making more of an effort to stay in touch Glad your dh has come round, its horrid when they play up, isn't it?!

JKS - the sleep will come, honest. In fact, there will come a day when you take enormous pleasure in waking both your dss up for something one morning as they grumble at you ! Until then, keep on reaching for the wine!

We also didn't get a proper 8 month hv check here, but I took Tamara into the clinic last week to get her weighed for the first time since she was 8 weeks ...anyway, she's 8.3kgs and sitting nicely on 50th centile (down from 75th, probably no bad thing). They ran through the checklist whilst I was there, but didn't seem too bothered about it - I think my hvs just assume that parents will report in with problems rather than dragging everyone down for a check, but I was still a bit . Anyway, we now have 1 tooth and she can sit nicely, still no crawling and definitely no cruising. No talking but lots of chatting and some things that might be dada and mama but aren't always that clear.

I can't believe I'm going back to work so soon, but we're off on holiday to Eilat on Weds morning for 9 days, so that should relieve some of the panic! Now I just have to worry about getting us all packed up and ready....

Hope everyone is well ....can someone please fill me in on the essential stuff when I get back online at the end of the month? Thanks xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 13/10/2008 17:56

housemum - not sure about rugby, we're fairweather rugby fans but you have given me an idea!
dh follows Southampton FC and used to go with his brother lots. His brother is emigrating next year so maybe a day out at the footie would be good. will have to chat to SIL....

hey filly
can't wait for the day i get to march into their room, throw open the curtains and sing 'rise and shine'

simpson · 13/10/2008 21:01

Hi all

Hope everyone has a good nights sleep tonight.

Well thought DH was doing well but he seems to have decided to give me a hard time tonight Is now obsessed with the fact that I am going back to my mum's tomorrow eve and using every trick in book including ringing my mum himself and constantly badgering me to get me to stay. He is supposed to be back at work in a week... we shall see...

MrsMcJnr · 13/10/2008 22:30

Hi ladies
Thanks Cazzy it?s not got worse and I am trying to rest, sounds like you need a rest too after all that work! wow, you have got a great little sleeper on your hands!
Sorry JKS, missed your poll MrsMcJnr - FF now but BF until 6 ½ months, mostly spoon fed but also eats some finger foods, more often than not sleeps 8.30pm ? 8.30am, no siblings (yet), own room. Black out blinds and gro bag!
Thanks Simpson hope you enjoyed your ?me? time I have a friend here whose 3 yr old is allergic to any product from an animal that lactates, can you imagine how hard he is to feed? I didn?t realise there was milk in so many things either. Hope your DD is ok. Sorry to hear that DH seems to have slipped a bit
Gingeme ? poor DS3 hope he feels better tomorrow.
JKS & Housemum ? so impressed by how organized you are for Christmas!
Filly ? that?s a hard position to be in at work, hope it works out well for you. Have a lovely holiday

Madmouse BF and mix of homecooked and jars, no real fingerfoods, in own room, no siblings, 8pm to 8am with one or two feeds in between.

It does seem kinda random who sleeps through, must say i cope well with the current schedule, and as nathan is still a poor weight gainer I am not going to limit genuine hunger feeds at night.

proud mummy warning

Nathan spent ages sitting alone today! . I took him to the children's centre and there was another boy his age, very confident sitting and playing. Said to his mum Nathan is not really sitting yet, plunk him down, he looks at the little by, sits up straight, lifts up his good paw and reaches for this baby's toy! As if he always does that. sometimes he toppled then righted himself again. He sat on and off for half an hour. So excited as he is close to meeting a very important milestone quite close to what is normal

enough boasting must say you guys really understand what it means as you have been the whole journey with me

only gained 200grams in 6 weeks though, still not 7 kilos (15lb 1 now, but still has a tiny double chin so should be fine surely, just small).

simpson he might feel he is close to normality and now you are not playing your part in believing things are ok. it is probably wise to go back to mums and take a bit more time. It will devastate all of you certainly the kids if you would have to move out again

mrsmc praying for your beanie, has spotting stopped? you getting it checked?

well, off to good food website to pick a chocolate cake to bake. it is my birthday on Saturday and a mate whose bday is a week later is cooking us a curry I am bringing the cake.

have decided by the way that we are not going to use any anticonception and to see what happens. Probably not much as 'it' does not happen a lot. Madness is that if I fall preggers now chances are Nathan will not yet walk when I have c-section as he may be late walking. but can't wait for everything surely

night all

OP posts:
Housemum · 14/10/2008 09:47

Madmouse - well done to Nathan! They look so different when they sit up, don't they? Bet he's pleased with himself!!

simpson · 14/10/2008 11:50

Hi all

Madmouse - as perceptive as ever regarding my DH, think you have hit the nail on the head

Nathan seems to have beaten all the "experts" expectations of him so far, so maybe he won't be that late in walking you never know... My DD not sitting at all yet, just flings herself backwards!!How exciting to be thinking of baby no. 2!!!

Just got back from the GP's and she agrees with me that DD may have a problem with dairy products. Have to not give her any dairy products for 2 weeks (apart from ff) and assess. If there is a big improvement then will be will referred to a paed.

Gingeme · 14/10/2008 12:13

Oh Nathan yay you go Well done little chap.
Simpson realy does sound like dairy could be a problem doesn't it?
ds3 still off school with a slight temp though I was naughty and took him to a new playgroup my friend told me about and all the boys had great fun . The two little ones ar fast asleep noe.
Dh went to the dentist this morning. Turns out he has an abcess he has to have the tooth out next Tuesday. He's on anti biotics now
Well off to make some lunch now. x

nicky6 · 14/10/2008 14:13

ok just a quicky as am at the library working away as tuesday's is the day charlie has childminder at our house so that i can get everything prepared for my case next month and in january.

But thought i better just say a quick hello. mrs mc glad things sound a bit better.

Charlie still boo hoo's when i put her in creche if i go to the gym, but yesterday seemed a bit better.

No teeth here still but i think we might get some soon although i have been saying that for months. Had 8 (and a half) month check up and all fine and good. DIdnt even give me a hard time about her not moving at all , just sitting nosing about all day talking - must take after her father.

ANyway went out last week with amale friend of mine who said I ahd lost loads of weight and looked a hot mummy - hooray hooray. We then proceeded to get very drunk - me up in the night being sick etc - so should have grown out of it by now

Anyway back to the little grindstone - seems silly to pay childminder whilst i sit in libarary on mumsnet - i can do that at home !!!!!

Gingeme · 14/10/2008 14:46

Lol Nicky I bet he wouldn't have said you looked so yummy if he'd seen you throwing up thats why I don't drink

simpson · 14/10/2008 16:58

Hi all

LOL Nicky at throwing up in the night, thats the type of thing I do when I go out not that I am gertting out much ATM.

Popped into the office today with DD and everyone crowded round her giving her lots of attention which she LOVED. I even left her with a friend at one point and went out of her sight to talk to someone else and she was fine!! Have to tell work by 29th Oct that I am not going back.

Did some final bits for Xmas shopping today and got DD a lovely soft rag doll from Wilkinsons for £4. Also got a birthday party to go to on Sunday so had to get pressie for that.

Well no dairy at all for DD today and there has only been 2 poos and no screaming or straining so maybe thats the answer....

JustKeepSwimming · 14/10/2008 18:39

evenin' all

well not got much time to post - until end of night garden to be precise! - so will have to keep it short.

would love to go out drinking - but minus the being sick and inevitable hangover please!

all ok here, ds1 was at nursery, ds2 and i went to bf group but had to leave early as he got tired and grumpy. i got more christmas stuff organised/trip to town/asda/ebay stuff listed/etc.

having probs with car key - the beeper thing won't work so have to leave it unlocked most of the time, dodgy but dh has promised to come home early tomorrow to see if he can talk the garage into sorting it for not the extravagant fee they quoted when the other key went!
right, best go ds2 volume building....
