Madm i would say that's well within the range to be sitting anyway! Good on him he is a determined little man!

Simpson i need to tell work by beginning of Dec! Not sure what they will say but will do it by letter. Will pop into wilko's as have few birthdays coming up! Hope dh last night was just a blip!

Gingeme wow if it's not the boys it's dh i bet you never have the time to get ill

Nicky lol at you mnetting in library whilst Charlie with a childminder at home sounds like a good idea And lovely to be called a yummy mummy!

Some boasting here to be done tonight. Has tough day , bad night with dd , ds let's her in kitchen this am to tip dogs water on herself so full change when we late on school run already! Then ds get's home and knocks whole bottle of milk over in fridge , floor , washing up basket he was stood in to reach fridge after school! Up to my limit
..... obv not at boasting bit yet

Hope everyone else ok!

simpson · 14/10/2008 20:16

Lilyloo - Awww bless!! DS's parents evening sounds lovely Poor you with all that mopping though!!

JKS - Hope you get car key sorted and it doesn't cost too much...

Well, had the fab idea for DS on halloween of getting him dressed up in scary costume and rather than going out (not sure where we will be, or if DH at work so no one to look after DD)thought I would hide some "treats" around the house and "find" them together but DS being a timid little soul took one look at the mask that DH had bought him and nearly wet himself with fright!! He now won't go into our bedroom as he knows its hidden in a drawer in there....oops!!!

LuckySalem · 14/10/2008 20:28

Hi all,

I'm back.... had a lovely few days and I think aaliyah really enjoyed it.
Friday we spent in Southport - went for a walk and DD had her first proper go on a little ride and was a little stunned lol.
Then Saturday we went to see DP's grandparents which was nice as the last time they saw DD she was only about 6 weeks old - big changes! Then drove to blackpool and walked what felt like a marathon up the lights to try to find the good stuff and its not there. They just had the lights on the posts but no moving ones or anything. Pretty crappy.
Sunday - Spent in Blackpool, went on loads of rides with DD, spent some money winning her WAY TOO MANY teddies.

I think all in all she had a good time - I know I definatly did.

I'm sorry not to be able to do personals but I will try another time for you all.

madmouse · 14/10/2008 20:42

Welcome back Lucky glad you had a good time. Missed you are you putting some pics on facebook?

Simpson lol at ds being scared of mask friend brought Nathan a cuddly cow back from Switserland, when you squeeze it yodels and pivots. Nathan wet his nappy and screamed in fright, starting with that big lip thing they do poor thing

Hello ladies I?ve taken it really easy today my DS decided to have a sleep with us (it?s a holiday here today) after his morning bottle so none of us got up until 10.45 bliss, how lucky are we!

Forgot to say, DS has a really strange reaction to my friend?s DD. She?s 6 weeks older and when she makes a noise (like an ahhhh ahhhh noise) which is half the volume of DS?s own, he starts crying his little heart out and is inconsolable it?s awful and I think she then (of course) does it again and again to see his reaction. When she stops doing it they play together well but he does the crying every time she makes the noise ? anyone shed any light on this? He never normally cries at all.

Madmouse ? well done Nathan what a determined little fellow he is? don?t they look grown up when they sit up? Thanks for asking, no more spotting and importantly no pain so that?s great news. I have an appointment and a scan a week on Thurs anyway so unless anything else happens, I?ll wait until then. I know from experience that if things are going to go wrong (which of course they are not) that?s it?s worth giving your body time to make its own decisions or else you can get false news. Chocolate cake ? yum!! That?s exciting about letting nature take it?s course I swear, we hardly ?tried? so be careful what you wish for clever insight on Simpson?s SH

Simpson ? hope it?s not too hard to avoid dairy with DD, you?ve got enough on your plate. So you?re not going back to work? Bless DS with the mask DS is scared of a bagpuss mouse I have that sings poor mite

Gingeme ? poor DH ? ouch!

Nicky6 ? lovely to hear from you good on you for looking so good, I know that I never got my waist back this time I?ll have to work twice as hard next time.

JKS ? I find the music from In the Night Garden strangely hypnotic!

Lilyloo ? ahh bet you felt so proud (and it made up for that day!)

Lucky ? so glad you had a lovely time welcome back!

LuckySalem · 14/10/2008 21:25

MM - no she's not standing alone, DP's arm and leg is supporting her. Although I bet I could edit it to look as if she is lol.

There is actually only still fanta in that cup I'm not a naughty mummy really!! lol

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 06:39

yawn....

simpson · 15/10/2008 10:46

Morning all

Am going back to my mum's for a couple of nights and haven't decided whether to take lap top yet (probably won't TBH) Only staying there till Friday....

DD really good last night but the neighbours next door had TV blaring REALLY loudly in the early hours (it woke me up at 4am...and I had ear plugs in!!)Can't say anything as the bloke has terminal cancer and uses TV to try and sleep...so feel a bit tired today.

Am a bit concerned about DD who has decided over the last 24hrs to cut right back on her ff (she would do this just when we are not giving her any dairy!!) for breakfast this morning she had 2ozs...She was a bit snotty yesterday, so maybe not feeling 100% who knows.....

madmouse · 15/10/2008 11:42

Morning all, poor JKS another early one sad]

nathan was a bit unsettled, but at 5.30 discovered nappy had been leaking, pj, grobag, sheet all wet. hope that was not why he shouted at am, did not notice

simpson, how can it help him sleep if it is spo loud it keeps you awake?

Nathan managed to yack his weetabix and some very early morning milk (eurgh the smell) all over both of us. Now, do i give him half a jar of pasta before putting him in the car and the bus to my new office? he seems very happy and the bm he has had since has stayed put. If I don't feed him he will be ravenous. Wish this cold would clear think I will risk the pasta. shame abiout the weetabix, it is his best meal of the day...

OP posts:
madmouse · 15/10/2008 11:44

that was supposed to be a for JKS' posting time and a 1am shout from Nathan

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 12:43

thanks madmouse - i was woken at 5 by henry, fed him and crossed fingers that he would go back to sleep but no go he chatted to himself for a bit then i brought him downstairs about 6, tom up at 6.15 - cue me vegging out on sofa while they watched cbeebies.....
had a plan to go out to the library for storyrhymes but henry had a long nap so we missed it!
went for a walk to the fruit and veg shop (& sweetie shop too ), saw men repainting the road lines, v exciting .

got called back from orchestra last night by babysitter - both boys up, oh no!
rushed home, tom back in bed asleep - sitter has a sister the same age and told tom poppy was on bed so he should be too...and it worked (note to self - use that line in future!)
henry was screaming, tried giving him calpol, so he threw up all over me and himself, nice. calmed him down, got some calpol down him and then he went back to bed, not wanting a feed. so actually he did well to get to 5 really. think it's just his cough that woke him and his cold that made him throw up - all that mucus, yuk. could be the same for nathan?

right best go H screaming instead of napping, argh.

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 12:53

think i must be imagining things, all silent when i got upstairs...

simpson - you could ask him to at least turn the volume down at night?
think the colds make it hard to breathe and drink at the same time.
leaving the car key issue to dh - he was MEANT to sort out the other one when it went so i see it as his problem now plus he has agreed to swap cars for now so that's fine by me

lucky - glad you had a fab time, cute photos had a peek

mrsmc - hope you are still taking it as easy as you can. could your ds think that his friend is crying? don't they reach a stage when they cry if they hear crying??
i like the night garden music, one of my favourites out of the kids tv

re halloween, there's a little steam train thing near here that runs once a month and tom loves it, they do a halloween special in the evening so think we will try and go on that. hope it's not TOO scary
also thinking of taking tom to fireworks this year, maybe get H to bed, then just take T in his pjs well wrapped up and let him have a late night. we are quite strict on bedtimes so could be interesting to see what happens the next morning!

lily - sounds like ds is doing really well at school, that'll be me in 2 years time i can't believe how soon it is really (that is we'll be at parents evening, hopefully we'll be feeling proud too!).

nicky - hope you got some work done too! i always start off with great intentions to sort my emails, then read active convos instead

so, off to check my ebay now

simpson · 15/10/2008 12:54

Madmouse - I know!! Think he only dozes as he has panic attacks so doesn't like to be in total silence...but means that we have to listen to it as well Hope Nathan managed to keep his pasta down, bless him.

Have just given next door loads of fromage frais which are best before tomorrow as DS won't eat them all by himself.

JKS - Hope henry is better. DD has not rteally napped today either only 20 min cat nap on way to pick up DS from playgroup.

Is anyone finding it harder to get their LO to sleep in the day the bigger they get?? DD is virtually impossible unless we are out and about...

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 13:06

i have to opposite simpson - i have short windows when we can go out, if it's naptime, H just gets crosser and crosser until he screams!
have had to leave bf group early the last 2 weeks as he hadn't slept that morning, come home, put him in his cot and peace for 2+ hours!

the other day was trying to go to playgroup and H was screaming, asked T if he wanted to go, he said no, so put H upstairs - as soon as he touches the cot he smiles at me, then T and i chilled out instead.

what i really need is a 'Henry sitter' who will just sit here and watch tv while T and i go out and get on with things.

simpson · 15/10/2008 13:17

JKS - DD is like that for nighttime sleep. If she is totally hanging there is a big grin when we go in her room. Think its when she goes in sleeping bag as thats her "long sleep" signal IYSWIM. She doesn't wear sleeping bag in day. ATM she is upstairs having a right old battle...but she is hanging!!

My DS used to be like your H. We used to miss quite a few things that I had arranged because he used to sleep for 2hrs plus in the morning and another hour in the afternoon!!

Lilyloo · 15/10/2008 14:06

Afternoon all am doing mammoth ironing mountain today ! Lucky i have jut seen news ad for grananda tonight about Blackpool illuminations and it was showing lot's of large moving lights ? Maybe you didn't walk far enough ? Glad dd enjoyed it though how's sleeping going ?

JKS yawn dd2 and ds are both early risers so much symapthy as dp usually deal with this when he is here!LOL at Henry sitter

Simpson tough one with neighbour as you wouldn't want to upset him! Were they petit filous yogs i have got the big packs on special offer a couple of times and ended up binning one lot so more expensive in long run

MM least he is getting the mucus off his chest which is a good thing , hope the office visit goes well!

MrsMc glad you had a rest day yesterday!

simpson · 15/10/2008 14:35

Lilyloo - they were sainsburys own fromage frais so no real money wasted Also gave away the scary mask that DS hated to the little boy next door.

I used to buy the big petit filous ones too but they were chucked. DS decided he only liked the small ones

Well moaning about DD's daytime nap, she has been asleep for over an hour!!!

JKS - am thinking of letting Ds stay up late for fireworks too and am also interested in how he is the next day as we are a strict house on bedtimes too!! But DS being little wuss that he is will probably be frightened of the bangs and want to watch fireworks from the safety of his own bedroom window

Housemum · 15/10/2008 17:49

Bugger! DH just put petrol in my diesel car. Bugger. Fed up - after trying to scrimp, save and economise, will cost £250 to drain the tank & clean it out. Bugger. He realised after 10 litres and stopped - perhaps I'll just drive over and give him a straw...

Grumpy-face-pissed-off emoticon...

JustKeepSwimming · 15/10/2008 20:13

simpson - i have to choose with H, either we miss a T-type actvity so H can sleep, or we go, H grumbles/screams, then sleeps at a weird time when we get home....it's so much easier with 1
glad you got rid of the scary mask
not sure if T will like the fireworks though we have watched some from the window before. guess we could always leave if he gets upset? think i have the in-laws here that weekend, so one of them can babysit.

Housemum - bugger bugger bugger we have one petrol and one diesel so waiting for it to happen to us.
glad it was him not you

Lily - dh back for bedtime tonight thank goodness as i had lost mummy-motivation but he has to leave early tomorrow and prob not back for bedtime tomorrow. i'm mostly a single mum mon-thurs and it gets me down think i am getting a tad bored being at home all the time
i only work 1 day a week but i think i need it. only 2 more mondays off/mat leave to go so best make the most of them

how is everyone else???

nicky6 · 15/10/2008 20:37

yes jks - was very good and did loads of work.

must go

madmouse · 15/10/2008 21:00

jks I thought I was getting bored, but at the moment out of the house every day and nathan keeps missing naps (he used to sleep everywhere as long as I held him/ he was in pushchair, now he is more discerning). then there is physio and all the exercises which i am not doing as much as I would like.

Now I am starting to wonder how I will manage back to work 2.5 days in six weeks, plus still have 3 feeds to wean off.

tomorrow hospital at 9.15 to have that bump on Nathan's bum seen by paed surgeon, then off to a friend instead of swimming, then baby music class. well will be able to chill out at friend plus after that.

but i am trying to get more snacks into Nathan to get some more fat on him and just keep missing the snack times.

why am I moaning all of a sudden? sorry

Lilyloo · 15/10/2008 21:34

well dd can now do her next trick she stood up in her bath seat seat tonight double so basically that's useless now!!

Housemum bugger what a nightmare at least it was him and not you !

MM hope Nathn apt goes ok tom!

MrsMcJnr · 15/10/2008 22:28

Hey ladies exhausting day today, soft play followed by Toys R Us (which was rubbish ) followed by lunch and a stroll in a hilltop village. Shattered tonight! Silly girl

DS had his first standing up pee tonight he was in the bath with his Daddy when we heard tinkling ? LOL

JKS ? oh dear! Sounds like you are having a tough time with your boys too. Thanks for the thoughts on DS and his little pal, I guess her cry could be in teething pain but he gets far more upset than she seems to be

Simpson ? lots of disruption for you hope things calm down soon. Agree about day time naps, they are not what they used to be! DS sighs when I put him into his sleeping bag at night and eyes up his bottle of milk.

Madmouse ? poor Nathan hope appointment goes well tomorrow

Hey Lilyloo Hey Nicky

Oh dear Housemum
