Boiler repaired yet eah?

So, where is everyone? Is the thread dying after 2 years or so? Sob. If you have rl, I want to know about them

Shimmer if you're around, hope your move went well (I think you've moved now)

theSuburbanDryad · 04/11/2008 19:39

I'm still here!! @ the thought of me having a life!

We're all set to move end of Nov, but done NO packing yet! EAH - come and organise us!

Reggiee · 04/11/2008 20:39

Hurrah!!! There is life out there . Have been reduced to watching 5 recorded episodes on Coronation St on the bounce as there was no one here to keep me entertained.
UD working under pressure is good - no need to pack just yet .

Just flicked over to Discovery Home & Health and there's a family with 8 kids on

eandh · 04/11/2008 21:06

Evening I am here! was wondering whether secret santa going to work as so man people missing at the mo. Will email everyine their addresses next week (still need wilkies/lth's!!)

I'll come pack (I love packing !) tonight I have spent the last 3 hours wrapping all the xmas presents and they are all done now (thank God) need to finish the Christmas cards though. Have also just doen the ironing as need to get everything straight before Friday as me and Eddas are off Friday morning for our child free weekend in London (I officially love her husband for bookinga nd paying for this!)

Lizzzombie · 04/11/2008 22:54

I'm here!!!

Eah - a child free WEEKEND???! Cool! What are you doing?

I am out on the razz (so people still say that?) on Sturday night, and having a night off/out in Brighton and staying over my mates house and everything - no babies! yay!

DP has a lung infection atm, and been very coughy/wheezy/like darthvadar really. He should be back at work on Thursday though.

Its damp and cold here.
I have no news.

SHIMMER - are you around on Wednesday next week? I have a hospital appt in Lewes! I'm going to pop in and see you! (but will have DJ with me...uh oh.

Rgee - congrats on the horses!

LTH - you around? I went to the soft play near your house last week. Do you ever go there? I thought it was rather good.

Big shout out to everyone else who knows me!
I officially have no other RL to speak of really x

eandh · 05/11/2008 06:14

I saw an update on facebook to say Shimmer is now in Lewes but no internet connection yet!

Lizz we are going to shop, eat and sleep all weekend (oh and I'll be phoning home to check on dh and the girls, I've just realised that in 4.2 years he has never had them overnight on his own has he normally stays at his Mums with them or they go to my Mums, he hasnt got them Friday day as he is at wirk so his mum will feed them and he'll have to pick them up and do bedtime on his own

eandh · 05/11/2008 06:15

oh rgee I am stealing your afternoon at the races idea - sounds fab

theSuburbanDryad · 05/11/2008 08:49

I've got a day off in Camden next Saturday with my New Best Friend (aka Not So Perfect Mum ) - I am very excited about it! Been ages since I had a whole day to myself!

The weather here is sooooo depressing, it's really damp and drizzly. Not cold enough to put the heating on but too cold to be actually warm IYSWIM. Gah. Bring on Christmas and the Solstice and it'll be getting lighter and warmer soon!

2Happy · 05/11/2008 09:03

Ha! I tried to wangle a day on my own on Saturday (for various reasons, kids're going to hav no nap for the next three days, plus will be staying at my mum's on thursday night so probably won't sleep at night either, so will be foul by saturday). dh just raised an eyebrow. Well, in fairness I kind of am going to have a couple of days off - I'm on a 2-day course tomorrow and friday, but it's work, not R&R. Never mind. We're actually off to Centre Parcs on Monday for 5 days, woohoo! Don't suppose the boys'll sleep there either

Hope Shimmer's settling in.
eandh - men! dh's going to stay at my parents when I'm away, I don't think he has ever ever ever looked after the boys singlehandedly for a day, if I'm away he always goes to his/my parents. I cannot believe you ahve bought and wrapped all your christmas presents!! What am I saying?? Of course you have! So, 2 months to Christmas - you got time to do my Christmas shopping too
Reg - impressed at your gambling prowess!
Lizz - hope dp feeling better soon; more importantly, hope he doesn't pass his infection on to you/DJ!

I'm here too.

Although after having a week of no phone, tv or laptop I seemed to have curbed my addictions

Had a lovely week and met up with loads of friends and family.

Funny stories of boys and their willies and bogies. They dont change when they get to 8 ... just a bit louder and sillier !

A spare ticket to Twickenham has come up for next saturday and DH grabbed it for me . I love rugby .... (or maybe its some of the players ... as I'm not that hot on the rules) so its a child free weekend for us next week too.

Got the heating back on yet eah ?

Christmas presents packed and sent ??? you gotta be joking .... yeah ????

eandh · 05/11/2008 17:37

Did you have a good time Kw3K?

Heating/water was fine just the annual service, he adjsuted a few of the settings to make it as energy efficient as possible. I'm trying so hard not to havr the heating on unless completley necessary.

Lizz/2happy/kat - all have lovely child free time (obviously the time of year to have a little escape!!)

Reggiee · 05/11/2008 18:54

Mmm I also am child free on Fri & Sat evenings, plus Sat & Sun mornings. Down side is it's work related so no r&r here too 2H.

Amused about the dh's not having looked after the kids on their own. I laughed when dh told me his parents were away this weekend so it's just him and the lo. I think he's planning a trip to the urban farm instead.

Anyone going out to see fireworks tonight? I guess I'll head up to our loft room and cast my eyes over the city for a big private display.

vinorouge · 05/11/2008 20:34

Hello! I'm here too!

I have only just started christmas shopping so nowhere near the wrapping stage.

I didn't get the other job I had applied for - went for interview last week. Never mind. I was a bit peeved that they wanted someone other than me! Am going back to my old job on 15 Dec so got to make sure I have some R&R in the next few weeks. Have been exhausted recently and trying to nap when Sylvie sleeps in the day, it just doesn't help that I'm so blumin busy.

It was lunchtime today before I realised it was bonfire night....

Dragonhart · 05/11/2008 22:13

Hi all, sorry been away for ages again, we have had a pretty horrible few weeks and have been away from home for afew weeks so hard to get online. DH's mum died after struggling with breast cancer which had come back in her stomach. It happened afew weeks after DH's Aunt died and their funerals were in the same week. DH obviously devastated, as is his dad. Just an awful awful time for everyone.

The kids are keeping us going tho, never a moment to stop and think really!

Ruth is getting so naughty! She seems to spend her day saying noooooo to me, one of the few words she is saying!

Rachel is getting so big already. Definatly more like Luke than Ruth. She has been in 3-6month stuff for a few weeks now and is only 10wks. She is very good, sleeping and in the day. Rarely cries unless she is hungry. Doesnt mean that the house is quiet though as one of them is usually crying or screaming. Why cant kids do anything quietly?!

Sorry, not really caught up but had a quick scan and see that congratulations are in order Rgee! So how many is that now? Rgee, Urban, Pink, Nemo...anymore?

Have I missed anything re the secret santa? what limit did we decide on? Got my name, thank you EAH. x

Reggiee · 06/11/2008 08:37

Hi Dragon - good to hear from you. It sounds like you've had a really tough few weeks ((hugs)).

Vino sorry about the job. I can't believe they dragged it out for so long. Hope you have a restful day today.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/11/2008 08:40

Dragon - what a stressful time you've been having! Kids are great for keeping your mind off things though, eh?!

My mw is coming round today to book me in for my homebirth, I'm a bit peeved as I'd requested not to see her again (BIG personality clash!) and she phoned me and really put me on the spot. Will have to chat with my GP about it when go for my appointment on Monday.

Lizzzombie · 06/11/2008 12:22

Hi -
Dragon your poor DH, what an awful time for your family. I hope your MIL and her sister got to meet your new arrival before they passed on. x

My DP is back at work today and doesn't sound too much like Darth Vadar with his weezing anymore. But now DJ & I have his cold and cough. I was called at work this morning to come and collect DJ as his nappy was vile. He did a foul one last night too, and we only noticed when we went to check on him before going to bed. He hadn'mt woken or anything, which never happens. He's really hot, but has not got a big temperature. Hasn't eaten tea last night or breakfast, and no more than a couple of bites of biscuit (not like him!) BUT, he is managing some hula hoops at the moment. He's curled up like a little baby and we've had big cuddles. SO cute!
Off to blow my nose.
nice x

theSuburbanDryad · 06/11/2008 15:11

Am I being weird for almost liking it a little bit when Z is a bit poorly (not too ill, or it's just gross) but when he's all snuggly and just wants to curl up with me on the sofa and be read to, or watch DVD's?

Lizzzombie · 06/11/2008 16:25

Nope! I love it. Its like having a newborn baby back again!
Have decided he's just eating carbs for the next few days though!

vinorouge · 06/11/2008 20:02

UD - I bought some of that rocks cordial you recommended as noticed it in morrisons last week. Lush isn't it? E likes them and makes a lovely cup of hot squash for me too!

Lizz - hope you feel better soon

Dragon - good to hear from you and glad ruth doing well. Sympathies for the bereavements.

Rgee - hope all is well. The good thing is that our 2009 childcare arrangements will prob mean (waiting for dh work to agree new working pattern) that I have 1 in 4 fridays off with both e&s so we will be free for visiting you and Wilkie more often!

Tomorrow we are going toddler toboganning at xscape near here. I think I like the sound of it! Got plenty of clothes to keep E warm (hmm just realised got nothing ready for me though!). Its for a 2nd birthday, all going to soft play there after so will be a nice afternoon esp as not seen much of the other lo's or their mums for that matter this year.

theSuburbanDryad · 06/11/2008 20:05

Vino - dh and I actually drink Ribena as I don't like the Rocks cordial! I like my aspartame and sulphides in squash!! Z just has expensive tastes i think.

Toddler tobogganing sounds awesome - we never get invited to any cool parties!

eandh · 07/11/2008 06:26

Dragon- what a few weeks, hope you and dh are okay and if there is anything any of us can do to help please let us know. Glad teh children are okay, any new pics of Rachel? I think we agreed £10 limit for secret santa

Lizz/UD- poor DJ/Zac, I have to admit I like the neediness of them when they are ill (although if they have a comiting virus not so keen )

I have everyones addresses now, do you all want me to send you the individual address or I can just send the word document that has all of the addresses on to eveyone??

Vino - fingers crossed for dh work agreeing new pattern and that party sounds fantastic, Ellie been inviting to a ice skating party on the 14 or 15th December (I'm lost she has 4 parties between now and Christmas) considering she is the most uncordinated child I know it'll be like Bambi on ice (although I have to go on with her so can't say that I'll be that good) Its my cousins little boys 1st birthday same day so Mum and Dad taking Hattie to that party (in fact PCF its in Littlehampton so Hattie will be down your way)

Ummm now I can't remember who else has posted, I better go and get in the shower as am off today for my 2 days shopping/eating/relaxing with Eddas and need to drop E&H at MIL's at 8.15!!

eandh · 07/11/2008 06:26

comiting = vomiting

Lizzzombie · 07/11/2008 08:50

F**king Hell.
5 dirty vile nappies since 7am.
This is doing my head in.
How do I make it stop?!! (my poor little man)

eah - hope you enjoy/ed your weekend away, looking forward to hearing all about it!
where are you going ice skating with E?

The word document with addresses is fine with me to send around. I don't mind if everyone knows where I live!

vino - toddler tobogganing?! whats that? Do you go down the hill with them or do you chuck em down on their own?! (sounds fun!)

nappy number 6 is calling me..... - read that emotion as puke filled cheeks please!

laughalot · 07/11/2008 14:10

Dragon so sorry to hear about your sad news please let us know if we can help. Lauren is getting really naughty aswell she says no alot and has terrible tantrums I have just learnt to walk away.

Eah have a fab weekend away .

Rgee how are you feeling ? Are you swaying towards a girl or boy ? I reckon eah must be your secret santa because who else is as organised as her ? She sent me a text the other night and all the girls pressies where wrapped .

Vino hope you catch up on your sleep soon. It is a hard age gap but it will get easier as they get a bit bigger maybe its worth setting a day aside for you and the girls to stay at home and have a rest .

Lizz ooh dear hope your little fella is better soon what a nightmare.

Urban how are you ? at you liking when z is a bit poorly [grin

I saw a friend today whos ds is 5 weeks old she said the most sleep the baby has in 24 hours is about 6 hours and usually during the day bless her she was really tearfull as its her first all I could do was hug her and tell her it will get better. This has definatley confirmed that I want no more . My little boy had his first day at big school today it was only during his nursery hours but it made me feel so proud. They do have a few fridays soon where they will go for the full day I bet you it is when im away for my birthday that means my mum will have to fetch him and I bet she cries. 4 seems so little to be starting school, I cant wait really.
