Ice cream will help Bumper I'm sorry that its come to this, but I think you could be a bit proud that he's seeing this through and not being beaten. You'll get through it, and at least one of you will be able to look after LO. They've dicked you around too much and haven't been reasonable at all. You might be in for a rough few months, but fingers crossed it will be pay back time when the fuckers are up against it in an Industrial Tribunal.

It will come good. These things happen for a reason. Plus, its in the hands of the Union and they are keen, so you can - to some extent - bury your head in the icecream-- sand and bide your time.

We will be here for you when you need us xx

Glad scan was OK Norty, when you go back, will you find out if its a boy or a girl?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/09/2008 21:05

Sorry Norty, forgot to comment on your news. glad all was well.

And that reminds me, at "make and play" the other day I saw some mums drinking from the plastic coloured beakers they have there. one of them said to another, what colour are you having? And she replied "well I had blue last time, so I'm hoping for pink now" and I was thinking does it really matter what colour cup you have? when she turned round - massively pregnant!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 21:07

Bumper, I re-read that message and it sounded like I was saying "I think you could feel proud of DH" as if to say instead of being pissed off ..... I didn't mean that at all, I meant taking them on is something to be proud of, not that I am thinking you aren't and don't and shouldn't be pissed off (of course you should, mightily) and ... and...

I'll get my coat ...

sorry if it came across wrong.

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/09/2008 21:12

Oh dear, just caught up with the news of last few days & looks a bit crappy out there. Hope everyone gets sorted out soon.

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:15

No - no finding out till the big day. I was tempted but DH said "we agreed...." Still crapping myself over the boy thing although I know deep down I would love a boy, just don't want to spend the next few months getting in a panic about it!

Bumper....I agree with Foxy....things happen for a reason....and things always work out for the best even though it doesn't feel like it at the time. I can honestly look back over my life and those 2 things have been true....even in those darker moments that I struggle to understand. Things will be ok, and think how satisfying it will be in court when you can say, "up yours tossers". It is just amazing that this is a big company. Hope you wipe the fucking floor with them. We would be totally buggered in your position as well - we have used the rest of my FT salary to employ someone else, so I wouldn't be allowed to go back FT now - even if I wanted to.

Holly - sounds like things went as well as can be expected and at least now DP can prepare himself a bit.

I was driving on the road between the channel tunnel and Canterbury yesterday and there were a bunch of (obviously illegal) immigrants walking down the road with nothing on other than the clothes they walked in.....and we were MILES from Folkestone...obviously been walking for hours.....a very common sight round here...you see them climbing out the back of lorries on the motorway on the way to work...

fucking golf! You might see a lot of me this weekend

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:18

I've just got a new mobile and downloaded "summer nights" as my ringtone......how old am I?

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 21:19

Don't Norty! Home 24 hours and DP is doing my fucking head in. Golf on, trying to get him off the sofa to take kids out/go out for dinner ... grrrrrrr.

Might send him back.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 21:19

Grease was on the other day. Loved, loved, loved it.

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:26

I've got the DVD ....ringtone is fab - DH taking the piss!

Me and DD are going out shopping tomorrow afternoon...anywhere really....think I'd rather watch Space Pirates than this!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 21:26

The golf's not THAT bad Norty!

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:29

god I'm hooked on that programme. Trouble is, its on at 5.30 when we all get home from work/nursery and it keeps her quiet with a drink for a little while....last night, DH and I caught ourselves singing along to the jingles

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/09/2008 21:45

I heart Space Pirates!! And between you and me I quite like Captain DJ

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/09/2008 21:51

OK and on that note, I'm off to bed. Early start tomorrow.

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:53

me too - not as early as you though!

Have a good time

IamRiallyindisguise · 19/09/2008 21:57

FFS, this country is run by a load of fucking tossers. and for both holly& bumper. you are both being excptionally calm IMO/E. I don't suppose anyone heard the solictor offer your DP the deal holly? I know nothing of things legal bu that smells a bit fishy to me. icerainly know where you're coming from with "these thing always happen to us". Good luck.

Bumper, if your DH gets a PT job on less money don't you get topped up to a certain amount with your tax credits anyway, even with you working FT? (I really don't understand TCs, but I don't think we're meant to) He should be able to at least get his NI paid on contribution-based JSA, I think DH HAS BEEN ABLE TO CLAIM JSA every time he's not been working for whatever reason, but I suppose I have only ever been PT on a low income so that might make a difference). I just don't see how the outcome is fair (but I lost faith in fairness a long time ago ) Good luck to you too.

Norty for the scan - it's a boy if it wouldn't co-operate! (I amn a bit )

Hi everyone else.

I have moced the PC today (without breaking it) but the remote keyboard is playing up now, must be my wine glass blocking the sensor

IamRiallyindisguise · 19/09/2008 22:00

My sis works with a Malaysian girl (in the NHS) who has a 12yo DD who lives in Malaysia with her granny. She has just made enough money to bring her DH over (and she is now PG) but her DD has lived so long with her granny that she won't come to live with her mum. It is and that is legal. FIL makes me cross fecking livid when he goes on about immigrants. It should be madelegal for anyone to work anywhere and then there wouldn't be any of this horrific explotation etc (I hope), sorry, rant over.

IamRiallyindisguise · 19/09/2008 22:15

I corrected the typo btw (I had missed an s).

DH has gone to the pub (well deserved). I am lonely and have lost my glasses.

IamRiallyindisguise · 19/09/2008 22:18

Goodnight all. Have great holidays. Good weekend wishes to us who are stuck here.

Hi pumpkinhead!

IamRiallyindisguise · 20/09/2008 11:16

Ohforfoxsake · 20/09/2008 13:51

LittleMissNorty · 20/09/2008 14:36

I'm around too for a little while....DD asleep....DH watching you know what....sure I should be doing something constructive...like houeswork.....

Ohforfoxsake · 20/09/2008 15:05

Ohforfoxsake · 20/09/2008 19:00
