Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 11:12

Hi JBM

Oh, I think we finished bf yesterday

Phew!

justbeme · 19/09/2008 11:15

Wow - how did you do that??
L LOVES BFing!!! I cant see an end to it!!

Thanks for your efforts at Waitrose for me BTW - very kind of you!! Shame they'd sold out.

Bumperlicious · 19/09/2008 11:57

How did you do that then Foxy?

I'm ambivalent about it atm. Fortunately we only do it in the morning. But I am stick of DD trying to get to my boobs

Am very as my friend Lcy says she is losing a pound a day as her LO is feeding so much

Soprana · 19/09/2008 12:24

Hiya - couldn't resist last peek before offski. We're going to Norfolk, and the weather looks great (at last) so we'll be braving the North sea for a dip I hope. If you don't hear from me again, you'll know why....
Tata.

Bumperlicious · 19/09/2008 12:32

Good luck!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 12:52

Afternoon all!

My dp got a court summons at 7.30 last night and has to be in court at 2pm today! It was from his current employer's solicitors saying that he has been trying to poach business from them and they are trying to sue him for £101,000! It is in the high court in London. Dp has not done anything wrong and all the "evidence" they have is all their word against his and some pure co-incidences. The poor man is shitting himself (as am I) and has had no time to get a solicitor (not that we could afford one anyway) or even read through all the paperwork. It is a fucking farce and he doesn't understand any of it. I guess we'll see later on what happens. They are perfectly welcome to try and take £100,000 from us, but they would have to try very fucking hard!!

Bumholes...

...anyway, the NCT meeting last night was good, everyone was really nice. It was at the membership co-ordinators house and OMFG I have never seen a house like it! It was beautiful and spotless and the kitchen was gorgeous. Her husband was there too, he had obviously not long got home from work as he was still in his work shirt and suit trousers and was collecting tomatoes from the garden and making chutney! I have been in a state of complete and utter since I got back to my complete shit tip of house and my dp who has barely cooked beans on toast for the past 5 years!

Are you happy about the stopping bfing thing foxy? It was at around this time that I stopped feeding dd. It was a mutual decision really, she wasn't bothered about it, so neither was I!! Ds is a whole different story. He is feeding 6-10 times in a 24 hour period. Every time I sit down he starts screaming for milk and grabbing at my top. I have always intended to feed him for at least 2 years, but I would love to get down to 2-3 feeds a day and am really not sure how to do it. I am exhausted!

Daisy, that's great news about dh's job. I hope he gets put on gardening leave, it is great! My dp has been quite useful during his time off, but he only has a week left and it seems to have flown by. I'm going to miss him (sort of )!

AAAARRRRSSSSEEEE!!!!

Why can't life just be simple?

Bumperlicious · 19/09/2008 13:14

Eeeek, holly, that's shit. Surely DH hasn't even started his new job yet? Hope it all goes ok.

I am surveying my messy flat, with food crumbs everywhere and just feeling completely defeated by it all. Does help having just had a fight with my mum. God she knows how to press my buttons

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/09/2008 13:14

Just having a quick check in before packing all the bits (have done clothes).

Daisy - hoorah for your DH.
Holly - arse about the court summons. Really hoping it goes well for your DH.
Fury - I am pretty nervous about the wedding tbh. Only agreed to it as it's my niece and they can't really afford to pay for a photographer (even before her dad cleared off leaving my sis more penniless than usual). And I made them have a long think about the fact that I'm purely amateur and they don't get any guarantees and I'll do my best but I can't promise them anything and I don't want any fallings out if they are disappointed.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/09/2008 13:16

Hugs Bumper. Shame about the argument, but try not to let it get to you.

OK. Packing here I come!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 13:19

My GOD HOLLY! That is outrageous! You'd qualify for Legal Aid surely?

Can't believe its got that far and this is the first you've heard of it. Something is badly wrong. Hopefully it'll get thrown out of court based on the sheer incompetence of their solicitors.

Am glad last night went well though. Other peoples houses, huh? I think people probably look at mine and think the opposite! But I don't care. I love it!

Definately time for us to finish bf. LO finally started taking cups of milk, which I've been giving her as her main drink through the day, we were down to morning and evening feeds. Then the other morning I gave her a cup of milk first thing, expecting her to push it away. She forgot herself and took it, so that was that one sorted. Last night she had a cup of milk, then just a minute on the breast. This morning I gave her a cup of milk. She's also moved into her room, with her sister. Although she wakes up in the night and has a brief yell, but the time I've got to her, she's back asleep. No more taking her into bed and being used as a dummy! I won't miss that. And I don't think she'll miss the closeness, the feeds were getting shorter and shorter (apart from the all night long ones).

Soprana - we went to Norfolk earlier in the year, and had a great time. Lots to do, and good beaches. We had windy/showery weather, but The Family (we went with my ILs) insisted on going to the beach every day, setting up a wind break, cracking open the sandwiches ....

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 13:22

Bumper, what was the row about? If it acts as an incentive to clean, I have the rat man coming from the Council any time now ...

Holly, I am reeling from that news. I hope you are OK. I'd be shitting myself.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 13:25

Bumper, I am doing the same. I'm sat here looking at the mess that is my house and I want to cry. I am feeling a bit stressy and my dcs are doing my head in! Sorry about the argument .

Hope it all goes well jammy. I took a friend's wedding video a couple of years ago and I was shit scared in case it went wrong. There were some dodgy bits in it, but that made it better!! I'm sure you'll be fine. I would much rather have some less formal photos taken by someone I know than some of those really wooden and posed photos that some photographers do. My brother is going to do our photos when we finally tie the knot. Knowing him they will be all arty farty (he is an art student), but that will be cool.

HellHathNoFury · 19/09/2008 13:28

Holly that's disgusting.
Can you appeal or something, ask for more time to sort things out since you only had a few hours notice?! The courts can be surprisingly forgiving when foul play is afoot (ie, serving you with only a few hours notice).

It's ridiculous. And yes second foxy on the legal aid thing.

Jammy yes weddings are a PITA, but good that you have sorted it out with your niece. Also just do your best and when you have done what you think are the obligatory shots, ask her if there are any special ones she'd like then nothing gets forgotten.

I did my sisters wedding and at the time she was sick of me being the photo nazi but she thanked me afterwards.. but it is hard. 18-55 lens is a great place to start but you may want up to 200mm reach for the candid photos.

Also - forgive me if I am teaching you to suck eggs here - but resist the temptation to change the camera to B&W, you can always remove colour afterwards but you can't add it back!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 13:30

Hi foxy! I don't know if we would qualify for legal aid, I think we probably would, but there has been no time to sort anything out. It is truly bollocks. I'm sure it will get thrown out of court because there is no actual evidence of any wrong doing. I am feeling a bit sick to be honest. Things like this always happen to us!

Glad you are happy about the stopping bfing. I need to start to try and get ds to take milk from a cup, but am not feeling too optimistic!

I sometimes think I would like a lovely house. It would be wonderful to swan about it in a pinny feeling all Nigellaish...but then I think of the upkeep involved with such an abode and feel grateful for what I have. This house was gorgeous though!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 13:34

Hi fury!!

He phoned the court first thing and they were not helpful. The first person couldn't find the right judge and the next person didn't know what to do. So he called the legal helpline of the court and they advised him just to go along and just put his side of it across as well as he can. They are a bunch of fuckers. It always astonishes me that such a large company (it is a FSTE company) can treat their employees or even ex-employees so badly.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 13:38

or FTSE even!

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 13:39

Sorry you are feeling shit Holly you are so lovely and such a good mum. Can you take the children out for a walk? Better to be out the house eating ice cream than stuck in surveying the mess.

DP has the Ryder Cup on. YAWN.

Give CAB a call, or phone a local solicitor and explain the situation. You might get some free basic friendly advice if they think they might get some business out of it.

Fury, if I ever get married, will you do my photos? All I ask is you make me look as though I am not half-cut

HellHathNoFury · 19/09/2008 13:40

That is disgusting.

you poor thing.

I hope it gets thrown out of court for being ridiculous.

Ohforfoxsake · 19/09/2008 13:41

this is about legal aid

if that helps at all.

HellHathNoFury · 19/09/2008 13:41

Foxy, I'll do your pics, but I can't work miracles

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/09/2008 13:42

I love you guys

I'm going to take the dcs into the garden to play and I can take my frustrations out on the shrubbery!!

x

HellHathNoFury · 19/09/2008 14:00

Does anyone use quidco? I love it.
