Anyway. Now that I have come on here and been self absorbed and a show off I am going to go to bed.

Ahh - are there any cyclists among us? I am in the market for a nice leisure/commuter bike. Not too many gears, lightweight. Any recommendations?

DKMA · 18/09/2008 21:20

Evening

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 21:26

Hi DKMA

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 21:30

btw Fury, my brain muddled up your words about DS's skills and I read "he can fully feed himself, kicks balls" as "he can fully feed and kick himself in the balls" . Not sure what that says about me

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 21:33

and my muddled brain thought initially that his conversation openere is "bugger all"

Hi DKMA....how's you? How did the dinner go in your lovely frock and killer heels?

OP posts:
DKMA · 18/09/2008 21:39

Hi daisy - dinner went great, frock was a hit - until one of the straps broke (so it's going back to the shop!) and I stayed up way too late and drank way too much gin
Hope you're ok?

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 21:46

oooh, too much gin

that's shite about the dress though. I hope it didn't lead to any unwanted exposure?

OK here.....big, cumbersome, pregnant and tired......hey ho

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 21:53

Too much gin? Is there such a thing?
Don't mind me, I've just had (probably too much) sloe gin

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 21:56

One of the straps pinged undone on my cossie in the swimming pool on Sunday. (They hook on at the back so you can position them in different configurations.) Thankfully I managed to grab the front before I had unwanted exposure and get out of the pool and found DH (who was delivering the Jamlet to join me in the water) who did me up again.

DKMA · 18/09/2008 22:02

Luckily the dress was so tight that it stayed up on its own - thank god - as the strap broke whilst I was being flung around the dancefloor by one of the fellas I work with!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 22:04

I've not shown my work colleagues my norks (yet!) but I did flash my hip and thigh at an (elderly, male) boss once . I was trying to get something out of my trouser pocket, b ut the trousers were too big following significant weight loss and as I digged deep, I managed to pull them down at one side!

DKMA · 18/09/2008 22:14

Oh Jammy - ha ha ha ha!
I have also showed my bosses boss my arse - but that was on purpose !!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/09/2008 22:21

I'm not going to ask. (Even though part of me really wants to know!)

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 22:28

the mind boggles DKMA

I need to pick ria's brain.......where is she when you need her?

My bump made the weirdest clicking noise accomapnied by a clunking sensation like someone cracking their knuckles, and iirc (well thanks to the search facility) you had this with baggins. did you find out what it was about? Is it a third pregnancy thing? One of the other third timers on my Nov thread has been getting this too. felt very fraeky.

OP posts:
IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 22:51

I'm here daisy - where else would I be? I never did find out about the clicking, it was weird but baggins is perfectly normal (for our family) so it doesn't seem to be a problem. Sorry, no help as usual.

Glad you had a good night DKMA, much respect to you for being able to dance in those shoes.

I am glad to say DH is home (after a 3 hour trafic jam due to a crash on the A64) and his DD apologised as she didn't realise ExW had said it was ok for DH to do the stuff he did. Sadly DSS didn't get to make his soup as he had a weeks worth of washing up to do before he could even see the kitchen. (Did I say that earlier, sorry). He lost 8lb while he was here! He plans to come back in a couple of weeks for the weekend, which is nice because that means I can't have been too nasty, and I'll be glad to have him back if I know how long it's for etc. The boys will miss him. FIL is still a prize twunt, but apparently MIL was really nice until he got in from work (well scary!)

Hi everyone. Good luck holly.

Soprana · 18/09/2008 22:51

Oooh thank you all for the warm welcome. After all that I'm off on holiday for a week. Will check back in when we get home. Laters!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 23:01

sorry, that uncontained excitement wasn't at

a) baggins being normal for ria's family
b) soprana going on holiday
c) soprana coming back to chat after her holiday.

"he's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming, hubby's coming home"

OP posts:
IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 23:01

have a great time soprana - are you going somewhere that will make us all?

If I forget jammy - hope you have a good week too

I kmow I'm about a year behind the rest of you but tonight I put baggins in his cot awake )OK, so I got him to sleep in our bed as usual and he woke up when I moved him), but he went back off to sleep, from awake in his cot with just hand holding! Big achievement for us.

BTW fury, your DS sounds so cute. I read the bugger all bit wrong too (it was DS1s first swear word).

I am off to be nice to DH (but not that nice)

IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 23:05

is that from last weeks interview daisy??? well done mr daisy it will be lovely for you (for the first day or so), must be a rellief though. I really don't want DH to do national releif work again (not now with 3 to cope with)

YIPPEE for you

(and also that baggins is normal for one of ours!)

I must go...really.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/09/2008 23:08

it is

he is just wondering aloud what sort of counter offer from his current employers would make him want to stay.

I said a 10K pay rise and then they buy this house from us at market value so we can buy a house down there.....I think they'll let him go

OP posts:
IamRiallyindisguise · 18/09/2008 23:38

I wish someone would make my DH an offer he can't refuse. But until he finds out if he's losing a considerable amount of his arm then I suppose no-one will want him.

Though you should be careful what youwish for - if they took him up on that and you moved you will never get to meet me and my fabulous children.

And men are so easily persuaded...

sorry to rain on your parade. Will it all be cut and dried before Virgil gets here?

had to log back on to find somewhere DH has to go tomorrow (and then I realised the typo in my new name)

IamRiallyindisguise · 18/09/2008 23:41

just realised how miserable that post was. sorry.

I think you know me well enough to read through it though?

I wonder if the clicking bump thing happens with girls?

Kate Winslet is just on her way to Neverland and for once I'm not in floods of tears. hooray for Ria's self control.

Night all. x

LackaDAISYcal · 19/09/2008 00:11

i can't see a spelling mistake!

no worries Ria; I know where you are coming from. and it must be a huge worry, not knowing what they are going to do about DHs shoulder.

and don't worry, even if we were to move to Linclonshire, we will still be coming to the East coast of Yorks for our week in the summer holidays

He has to work three months notice so no, but hopefully we can work around it. Gardening leave would be just peachy, but he doesn't think it'll come to that, unless the retailer that his company supply get wind that he is going to work for another retailer and ask for him to be removed

why am I still up? I always get a secind wind at about 11pm. I should get myself to bed at nine; maybe I'd get a better night's sleep!!

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 19/09/2008 07:28

Somebody help me, I can't stop spending money on ebay!

Daisy, I think your bump clicking is a sign he is playing dominoes with himself or something.

Good luck Holly.
