She will have to get a laptop for home. This wont do.I will text her and instruct her to do so forthwith.Plumber here.He is sighing and tutting. It doesnt sound hopeful to me.

charleymouse · 07/10/2008 13:16

Cheers TMAM and Scoot.[pathetic emoticon]
Just feeding the little dears lunch. bleurgh.

Oh no PINK what will we do, have you changed jobs yet? If yes get a new one that allows internet access, if not glad to hear you will be in a new position soon so can get back to some Mumsnetting hard work.

Scoot can you claim on the house insurance for escape of water? It's a really bad sign if he sucks his breath in through his teeth and rattles change in his pocket.

largeginandtonic · 07/10/2008 15:19

Thanks for the kind words re nightmare sister. I am still a bit >

CM hope you are feeling better! Not nice, i have done it before with children perched on me

Scoot sucking in of teeth obligatory when you are a plumber. For fecks sake i hope it is nothing too serious. You needed a day off not a day from hell.

Pink nooooooooooo on the internet crackdown. Shall we email and complain

Master at your toy boy lusts Does dh know about this? When dd grows up and brings boyfriends home you can lust after them from your chair

AbbyLou · 07/10/2008 20:22

LG&T I'm so sorry you're being thrust into this difficult situation. Families can be awful sometimes and there's nothing you can do it about it. We are going through a bit of a nightmare with dh's mum. I won't bore you with the details but the upshot of it is that she didn't even bother coming to R's Naming Day and I don't think she realises how much she had hurt dh.
TMAM the list of words you found is ok but a little out of date now. There are no Reception words as such but there are the first 100 words which children should be taught to read as soon as possible.
If you go to www.sparklebox.co.uk/cll/lettersandsounds/hfwords.html you can make flash cards with the words on which we use at school. Let me know if that link doesn't work, I've never done one before!!

TheGreatScootini · 07/10/2008 20:33

Plumber said tank is leaking. He has drained it and we've no hot water till we get a new one. He's going to let me know how much.He said quite alot, except he might be able to get one second hand kind of thing.>>sigh

largeginandbloodpunch · 08/10/2008 10:31

Abby that link is great!

Scoot nooooooooooo, fook it. Hope it doesnt cost too much, when will you know? What spectacular timming right before Xmas and dh birthday surprises.

B is watching the baby channel, this is after he has abought me every lotion and potion in dd's bedroom. All opened, i am afraid to look.

Scoot i have a new shampoo and conditioner, it is splendid! Tesco naturals collection, hydrating shampoo and intensive coditioning mask. Very reasonable and worth a go.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/10/2008 11:36

Yes Abby, thanks a lot that is brilliant, they are going on the fridge forthwith! I have to now eat my words with ds1's teacher as I told her 'here' was a year 1 high frequency word Poor ds his books are just so deathly dull, I have asked if he can skip this lot and move onto more interesting ones, but no. This is the list and We Must Work Through It. Someone send me some ORT out. People may complain about them in the UK but they are miles better than these crappy old Ginn ones we have... Abby I am that nightmare parent aren't I?

But Scoot, here I am whingeing on, and your problem is much worse, any better news today? Have you central heating? When can he fix it?

You spoken to your sister yet LG&T?

Charley, is your head out of the toilet yet???

Jennyisjustknackered · 08/10/2008 12:00

I'm here with you all in spirit but I may have to turn into a lurker. They have given me access but I fear I am being watched.

TMAM - you did upset me a little bit, but only momentarily. I'm very sensitive, doncha know?

elkiedee · 08/10/2008 12:11

What a pain for Pink!

Sorry to hear you're feeling sick Charley. DP's had a night of throwing up this week and ds now has whatever he had, my mum is anxious that I shouldnt't get it but if I'm going to, I'm sure I will now. dp's been brilliant about doing all the icky bits of cleaning up with ds, so I guess I can't complain, that in itself would have set me off.

LGT, I'm not following the ins and outs of what's happening with your sister, your ex and his new wife/partner but from what I've gathered, grr at them all.

JamInMyWellies · 08/10/2008 12:27

Hi everyone!

Scoot what a pain are you boiling buckets of water and bathing infront of the fire in a tin bath. Hope you get it sorted and it doesnt cost too much.

Charely are you feeling better?

TMAM if they are insisting that your DS goes through the motions witht he reading books why dont you ignore the school reading books when at home and buy him some books that you know he would enjoy and read them together instead.

PJ nice to see you.

LG&T like the halloween name.

Well my baking urge has kicked in have yet to do your recipie LG&T but I did make a yummy chocolate cola cake yesterday but word of warning do not try to take a cake out its tin while nattering on the phone the thing dropped so instead of nice slices of cake I have sponge slop in a bowl with icing chucked on the top.

Am uber knackered sitting here in my dressing gown I must go get dressed as DS has swimming this arvo and the dog needs walked. Not sure where the baby is lying either am feeling it on both sides I guess the midwife will let me know on Friday.

By the way has anyone heard how TYG and SKY are getting on been a while since they posted.

largeginandbloodymary · 08/10/2008 12:34

oOOOOH people!

Want me to send some books over TMAM? We read what we like in this house, school is for school work imho. They chose what they fancy.

Elkie i have had 2 nasty sick bugs this time! Is yuk but didnt do any damage. Must post on t' other thread, have been v crappola at keeping up. Can you link me? Ta

Jam how many weeks now? Are you scared yet? I am still in denial i think, i am getting limbs coming out and poking me now 26 weeks....

Pink nooooooooooo, this will never do. You need a laptop at home! How is L?

B currently sat with Hugs having scrambled egg and toast, i am dreading the mess Will look later.

elkiedee · 08/10/2008 12:51

TYG was one of those selling (and probably baking) cakes at the local NCT sale last Saturday. I said hi but there wasn't really much chance of a chat, though she looked well.

MKG · 08/10/2008 13:13

Morning all.

I have to catch up a bit, but I just want to say I'm so . I spent all day cleaning because we had an appoinment to show our house. And the people never showed. Their agent didn't even bother to call and cancel.

I also cooked and baked a bunch yesterday. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, leg of lamb, cream of tomato soup. So pretty much I laid down and passed out I was so tired. Did I mention I spent the morning running errands.

On a positive note dh and I watched "the happening" last night. You all have got to see it. It was soooo good.

Oh dh and I are speaking, he no longer thinks I'm a lesbian, but he hasn't apologized which is fine, because if he felt bad about it, he wouldn't have done it in the first place. So what's the point. Of course I generally think that the whole "I'm sorry" business is a waste of breath for that reason.

JamInMyWellies · 08/10/2008 13:32

Am 31wks cant believe I still have another potential 11wks to go. Defo feeling a bit nesty, A's big boy bed arrives on Saturday and I plan to spend all of Sunday sorting out mini mumch's bedroom.

MKG glad things are a bit better your day sounds exhausting.

Elki how are you feeling?

There is an NCT sale in a couple of wks would it be hilariously ridiculous to send DP there with A to see if he can find anything while I go to my yoga class?

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/10/2008 16:55

Jam, 31 weeks already, my goodness how time has flown! Deffo send dp to the nightmare NCT sale, great bargains, but no way any place for a heavily pregnant mum to be. Warn him though that he has to be there early and get his elbows out at the ready to grab grab grab!

Thanks LG&T, can you get ORT on Amazon? Because apparently we can get amazon here no problems as books are duty free....will give it a whirl.

Pink, you must get a laptop at home, it's always much more exciting here in the evenings anyway

Fingers crossed Elkie...

Btw I found TYG had started a thread yesterday about A, but got to it a bit late. If you are reading this TYG, I hope things are a bit better today.

SKY, how are you doing? What about dd is she still poorly?

Now, can anyone offer any tips on what to do with my precocious dd? I am off to start a thread about her.....

Pebblemum · 08/10/2008 23:51

Evening everyone. Im back yet again for a quick catch up. Its been a nightmare few weeks here in the pebble household.

Been arguing a lot with dh, nothing unusual there except theres been the odd occasion when Ive wanted him to just Fark off and leave me to bring up the kids on my own which I tend to do anyway He is just no help whatsoever and even when he is at home he prefers to lay in bed all day watching bloody dvds. Men!!!

Jordan went and fractured two bones in his arm during PE a couple of weeks ago. He had been doing tackling in Rugby and had been told to stand still with the ball while another boy ran straight for him, cue Jordan falling back and landing awkwardly on his arm. What made me angry though was that the bloody PE teacher told him to carry on playing even though it was obvious he was in a lot of pain, in the end J just walked off and was then threatened with detention. Luckily the man saw sense otherwise he would have had a very emotional/hormonal mother after him lol. Anyway three hours sat in A&E later and we get the great news that its broken. What was funny though was that there was another boy from his school there, he had fallen head first over a 6ft gate trying to get his ball, and it turned out to be my neighbour's little brother, what a small world eh? J wasnt allowed back at school until we had been to the fracture clinic a week later when we got the good news that he will only have to wear the cast until Oct 14th, the day before we go to Rhodes. He will still have to be careful but at least he will be able to go swimming

To top it all off last week we all had some sort of bug. On the Monday Ethan was off school with a very high temp and he was a bit 'dopey', Tues/Wed Alana had a temp and was grumpy, Thurs (the first day J went back to school ) J was sent home with a very bad headache and he was shivery on minute, hot the next. And then on Friday I was shivery and it felt as though I had ants in football boots crawling all over my skin, very strange and very horrible. I spent the day on the sofa wrapped in two blankets, jumper, hot water bottle etc and still felt cold. Dh still made me go get Ethan from school though

Ethan by the way is loving school, he started full time on 22nd Sept and you would think he's been there years lol. Hes grown up so much already.

On news of my pregnancy I am now 25wks and after a lot of mix up with my scan dates I can now confirm I am having yet another blue one and he is due 21st Jan (if he arrives on time it will mean I have kids born on 21st,22nd,23rd and 24th, of different months though of course, but hows that for weird lol) Everything is going fine although now and again I find it hard to walk, I keep getting pains in my groin, typical boy causing problems already lol. At first I was a bit sad I wasnt having another girl to even it all up but now I see it as a blessing, Alana will always be my special princess and will have three brothers to watch over her. Also Ethan decided tonight that he would like a baby brother, not bad seeing he doesnt know im pregnant yet lol. Ive been worrying about how Alana will cope, if Ethan sits on my lap she gets very jealous but tonight I held a 3wk old baby boy and she was fine, so fingers crossed she will be ok.

Anyway thats enough for now, need my beauty sleep. will try to get on a bit more and catch up with all the gossip

elkiedee · 09/10/2008 00:45

Ooh Pebble, 4 of us due again in January.

Jennyisjustknackered · 09/10/2008 11:53

Hello all and to your gorgeous bumps. We are all fine, and L is fine too, saying more and more and entertaining us with her animal noises. She is gorgeous. She is still a shit challenging sleeper.

And I am knackered. But whatever.

P.S. I do have a laptop at home, I just never get on in the evening.

Jennyisjustknackered · 09/10/2008 13:37

I've just had a message deleted by Mumsnet!!! For the first time ever!

charleymouse · 09/10/2008 13:43

Ooh jen what did you do?

Jennyisjustknackered · 09/10/2008 13:45

Suggested that a certain celebrity might be a little 'smug'. Which is a personal attack, apparently!

charleymouse · 09/10/2008 13:48

Hi all still off it but feeling a bit better. G still has it bad though, I think we keep reinfecting each other. GP yesterday yes you guessed it, it is viral Had to take stool samples in for testing. On a positive note not been sick for a few days. [pathetic grin]

Off to catch up, hi Pebble glad to hear all is well with bean, congrats on anther boy. Will be back later hopefully.

largeginandbloodymary · 09/10/2008 14:31

Another boy pebble!

CM sounds like a nightmare bug, poor G and you.

Pink ignore the girl and post in the evening! She will soon fall asleep on the floor! Was it Tana Ramsay by any chance?

I had a touch of bleurgh last night, i had a mouthful of Tarasmalata at lunch time and it was off despite being in date and unopened and i had to toilet dash a few times in the evening. I felt ok though but not brave enough to eat anything. It started off a load of BH too so i sat in the bath to calm them down.

What did dh do to support his poorly wife? Well he ordered himself a Pizza and opened a bottle of red while leaving the kitchen complete with tea debris from the kids tea for me to handle in the morning.

I was SO pissed off. He kept asking all evening "are you ok" No i am fecking not, you are stuffing your face with pizza and necking wine while i sit here trying to be calm and not give birth.

Anyhoooo. Wost was to come today. DD had her nurse visist and first jab of the Growth Hormones, she screamed and fought. It was hell. I can't do this everyday! Poor thing. She is so strong.

School run soon, then dd has drama followed by Brownies and i am off for a hen night tonight. Just nibbles at her house, she is renewing her vows tomorrow, 15 years together! This is the friend who had her baby 10 weeks early in August, he is home and very well! Super baby.

No rest for the wicked eh? Still the bathrooms are gleaming and the downstairs looks nice.

largeginandbloodymary · 09/10/2008 14:34

I did win this on ebay today though so am very pleased.

I will have Doris asleep, B on top in a toddler seat and H underneath on the tray This is how i got around when i had 4 under 4 at one point, the twins used to lie in the tray underneath, dd in the seat and J in the pram!
