Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hey Ria that's fair enough. I suppose MN can be a wonderful place virtually, not everyone wants to, or could turn it from virtual into real.

Sometimes I forget that.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/09/2008 20:40

Fury, I do think of people here as my friends, and am happy to meet up. But I think people may have been referring to friends who live nearby, near enough to pop round for a cuppa, or meet in town for lunch, or whatever, on a regular or semi-regular basis?

Folks, please forgive me if I've put words in mouths that aren't what people were meaning.

HellHathNoFury · 14/09/2008 20:42

Jammy, you're right too...I should think before speaking!

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 20:43

Do you know Fury, you are right. And I am probably one of the most guilty of not taking you up on your friendship in RL. Apart from hectic life I have not excuses, apart from my commitment phobia and not taking on any more than I can cope with. Sadly within that it includes friendships outside of my tiny bubble of life.

I think you are great company Fury and loved meeting you at the Hornimans. You have made the effort, and it hasn't been reciprocated.

And now that I have TOLD DP ABOUT MN (not quite the extent of my habit ) I have no excuse!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/09/2008 20:43

Don't worry Fury.

And sorry to hear about pleurisy worries and hospital etc. I hadn't realised you'd been that poorly.

DKMA · 14/09/2008 20:47

Hi Fury
I can't be arsed to be your friend in rl because you live too far away so there! Nar nar ner nar nar!
Sounds like your week has been utter shit

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 20:49

Have you really told DP foxy - what did he say?

I am a bit that I find it so much easier (and satisfying) to be friends on here. My RL friend clearly has many issues and I can't cope with how bitchy and superior she has become (and at times childishly selfish). I get on better with her new partner, which is funny as I was the shoulder to cry on before they moved in together and got to hear all the woes.

DSS has fallen asleep on the sofa!!!!!

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 20:50

should I be nice and turn off the manic gunfire on the telly?

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 20:56

Well, I told him of MN. Not that I've been on here for a year and a half, got completely obsessed with it, shared pregnancies and births, have complained about him bitterly, shared our intimate business, made some good friends, met up with them (I think that's the bit which would freak him out) and a couple have been to our house for lunch. Hee heee heeee.

He doesn't really get internet forums, and I suspects he thinks they're all for doggers or hairy truckers

HellHathNoFury · 14/09/2008 20:58

FOXY YOU TOLD HIM!!!

Do you know you are a daft old bitch, I didn't want commitment, I was more after an iced latte. You lunatic.

DKMA, never liked you anyway. You can have Foxy since I was rejected

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 20:59

is it possible to "dog" on a forum? TBH they freak me out a bit really. only joined MNet because of the SW thread, but I got sucked in... IMO some of us are more honest on here than we would be in RL (me for instance)

He's woken up and I didn't even take a ohtot with which to blackmail him. I am mellowing

HellHathNoFury · 14/09/2008 21:00

Ria I think there is a lot to be said for MN and obviously not everyone wants to take it beyond virtual. I am just rubbish and speak without thinking most of the time.

Jammy no worries I am fine (well not really but relative to how shite I was before)

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:01

thank crunchie for that - Rory and Paddy is being repeated on Fiver. I am a happy bunny. (I need a life)

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 21:04

I take my friendships seriously Fury.

I don't have time in the schedule for frivolities like hot, milky beverages you know. I need high maintenance, its so much easier to timetable.

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:05

no worries fury, I was more concerned about your feelings than mine TBH. IYSWIM. I hate parent and toddler groups, and waiting outside the classroom.

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 21:05

but most of all I love you guys because I can whinge about being fat ...

... and you don't know I had pizza and a walnut whip for dinner

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:06

what sort of pizza? (drools)

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 21:08

it was one of the new Pizza Express ones, a Romana or something. Thin crust, ham, salami, peppers, and I drizzled it in balsamic .... yum.

And M&S have Walnut Whips on offer. 6 for £2. Scoffed whilst watching Wife Swap.

Saddo and proud!

HellHathNoFury · 14/09/2008 21:12

I have to go. Teething DS and a broken man of a husband from looking after me and teething DS all week. Catch you later ladies.

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:12

6 for £2. and you only ate 1? You have massive self control. I bought Warburtons toastie bread so I am being a bit greedy but I have been to bed early with no supper for the last three nights

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:13

take care fury. x.

Ohforfoxsake · 14/09/2008 21:14

See ya Fury!

Well, just one tonight. As well as the one I had earlier. thats not an embarrassed face, its a porky cheeked face!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/09/2008 21:16

What do people know about low temperature in babies? Jamlet has been crying and we've presumed teething (back gums seriously bumpy). About half hour ago I went up, gave teething gel & cuddles and took temperature. 34.7 which seemed very low to me. Same in both ears, checked twice each side. I shut bedroom window which was slightly open and left when she was settled. Just checked online and yes, that was a VERY low temperatuer as far as I can tell. Just checked again and it has gone up slightly, and her chest feels reasonably warm, so we are going to check again in 20-30 mins and see how things are. BUT if anyone knows better and thinks something serious is up, please let me know!

Riaonabroomstick · 14/09/2008 21:23

Don't know jammy, sorry. Baggins has just had a bad period of grumpy teething with massive back gums. Just keep a close eye and if you're worried go to A&E.They always say they would rather see a worried parent with a well baby than he usual drunks and drug overdoses.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/09/2008 21:25

Just done a MN search on low temps and I feel a bit better to see that there are several threads on it. And everyone is saying the same as you Ria about A&E. I think if she's not continuing to warm up when I check temp again soon I might ring NHS direct to put my mind at ease before bedtime.
