Tis a good thing I feel.

Oohh, I have tears in my eyes for AQ. I'm so pleased they're here safely and without lots of interventions. Yay . Can't wait to hear names.....

jabberwocky · 29/09/2008 13:54

YAY for AQ!!! So pleased for you

errr, did anyone notice I had picked Saturday

EV, thinking of you, hope all is well.

jabberwocky · 29/09/2008 13:56

PS, when you get around to checking the thread, yes encopresis must be an American term. The play therapist and the special needs director both used it when I was discussing ds1 with them last year.

EV I'm so sorry. Second what Eli said though, don't feel you shouldn't talk about it here. We all use this thread as an outlet at times and it is wonderful that we do.

No news from AQ, imagine she is a bit busy!

OP posts:
Olihan · 29/09/2008 20:12

Surely she can't be that busy? . 4 dcs under 5 and newborn twins, c'mon, how hard can it be? AQ, you are my hero .

EV, sorry to hear your news. My friend's mum has just been diagnosed with advanced stage liver and pancreatic cancer. They're still in shock, mainly because the prognosis is so bleak. Feel free to off load on here. It's a good outlet for things you may not feel right about bringing up in RL.

That's good news, Eli .

Puppy had first set of jabs today, I felt like I should be dosing her up on Calpol before I went!

LenniEd · 29/09/2008 21:05

Hi all,

Back from the tradeshow and can't stop grinning about AQs news! Absolutely wonderful, and can't wait to hear all about the twins.

EV - I am sorry about your relative, it must be so hard.

Oli - at the calpol!

DD just been tucked up in bed with a temp of 38.5 and a good dose of calpol. Think I'll creep in later and check she's ok - they are such a worry aren't they, if it isn't one thing it's another. Glad to hear the news on your DD is good Eli.

castlesintheair · 30/09/2008 10:46

Sorry you felt you had to delete your message EV and sorry for you.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 30/09/2008 10:54

me too EV.

EustaciaVye · 30/09/2008 11:51

Thanks Guys. It's not because I dont want to talk about it with you, more that this is a private family matter for DHs family and I dont want to put it up in public if that makes sense. Anyway, I got both DDs to do paintings yesterday and I've made a card from them with messages for DH and me and the pictures from the girls.Hopefully he'll like that.

DD2 went swimming today. She does like it but hates getting out when it is cold.

LenniEd · 30/09/2008 12:40

The card and paintings sound lovely EV - am very impressed that you can get DD2 to paint - any attempts I have usually end in disaster.

Am really feeling tired today after the weekends exertions - need a good rest but we have visitors over the weekend so need to get the house in some sort of order. Am beginning to think that this baby will be about 6 months old before i get to the point where I am conscious of being pregnant!

DD slept until 9am and went back to sleep at about 11.30am. Think she is properly poorly, poor little mite. Just hope she doesn't sleep so much today that we are up all night. Never know when to take them to the doctors either - don't want to waste the GPs time but just can't decide when it is just a virus and when I should be taking her to see someone.

EustaciaVye · 30/09/2008 13:16

LennieD - DD2 loves the paint pens from ELC. They are much less messy than normal paints but you get a similar effect.

jabberwocky · 30/09/2008 14:08

EV, that sounds really sweet. Ds2 is still so bad about eating crayons, markers etc. that I have resorted to giving him pens to scribble with. Except now he takes them apart

LenniEd, ds2 felt poorly on Sunday and ran a fever that night. We couldn't decide if it was a virus or teeth but he bounced back yesterday and seems fine now. Have sent him off to Mother's Day Out.

babypowder · 30/09/2008 14:38

'lo evreyone. So glad to hear about AQ - can't wait for all the gory details!

Sorry EV

I've been - and still am - quite poorly. Had a whole heap of bloods done yesterday though, so if there's anything really wrong they'll find it. I'm just exhausted, off my food (I'm never off my food, lost about half a stone) just generally wrong. Pah.

When are the rest of you breeders due? I seem to have lost track, but I'm sure it's Dec/Jan, isn't it?

LenniEd · 30/09/2008 14:56

Watching tv now with DD - think she seems a bit brighter, but still got a temp close to 39. Ack.

BP - doesn't sound like you to be ill, hope everything is ok and they find out what it is. Hope are you coping with the DCs?

I'm due jan, indith due xmas eve, so a while yet before any more sprogging goes on. Am 6months pg now and starting to feel it, although am tiny compared to last time, last time had gained about 2 stone by this point! This time am only about 9lbs heavier and most of that is on my boobs. Shame I never lost all the weight last time!

Elibean · 30/09/2008 18:33

Photos and pictures great idea, EV, think not feeling isolated from family v important at times like this (so various relatives have told me, anyway). And understand about it being dh's family and private.

BP, you poor sausage, being off food is soo unpleasant - hope you're ok; there have been some mean viruses around already (weird ones, I had one that gave me a hugely sore neck and tiredness and nothing else) so maybe you have one of those?? But good they've taken bloods, of course.

dd2 also loves the ELC paint pens - you don't want them messing with real paints too often at this age, or in your condition, LenniEd

babypowder · 01/10/2008 13:14

Have just added ELC pens to the Christmas list for DD2! Fabby idea - and no doubt DD1 will get her money's worth out of them as well.

Just got my results back, and I'm (mostly) OK. I just have a raised white cell count and a medium-grade infection. At least my kidneys, liver and thyroid are OK. It never ceases to amaze me that my liver can be OK after my mis-spent youth

DD2 is turning into the most incredible chatterbox. She never stops. It's a bit like listening to a Dutch radio station, in that I recognise the occasional word, but the rest is just background babble. She does try to have conversations, though, using emphasis and pauses to encourage response. God 'elp us.

castlesintheair · 01/10/2008 13:34

Glad to hear you are out of the woods BP Sound's like you have a humdinger of a virus.

DD2 is also a chatterbox. I'm starting to understand more of her language now, after complaining about it recently

I've been offered a place at the (private) nursery next to DS & DD1's school but have turned it down. I can't bear it. Instead my childminder friend is going to have her for a few hours a week.

DH is hopefully going to be around this weekend though I'm not holding my breath. He asked me to book a babysitter for Saturday night

Indith · 01/10/2008 17:37

Has everyone read Kiskidee's birth story? Really fab Birth stories like that should be obligatory reading for all pg women. Can't wait for our next cake session to hear more about it. Might let her flop with her new baby for a few weeks though first

EV pictures sound lovely.

BP glad tests are pretty much ok.

Ds still makes no sense

Have been child beating today Ds was merrily walking along home from the bus and fell flat on his face and gave himself a nose bleed Nose and upper lip now nice and red.

By the way, where is the cheapest place to get cot sized duvet covers? Couldn't find anything in Tesco, Matalan, Ponden Mill etc just cot sheets and then kids single bed bedding. Think I may have solved the night waking problems! Had a brain wave since ds merrily snuggles in under our duvet with his head on our pillows. Trouble is we only have one cot duvet and one duvet cover and we all know how long that will last! Worked like a charm last night though, he woke, took him to my bed, had brain wave, left him snoozing while I got the duvet, put him back to bed and he just snuggled down. He woke once more having lost dou dou but giggled and went back to sleep when dh handed it to him! Tis a miracle!

We bought a couple of sets from Ikea for about £6/7 each. Don't really see them about much, not sure if you've got an Ikea up there, but might be worth the trip if you have - plus I love Ikea shopping trips, just about the only place DD behaves too!

Off to read birth story now - really need to start thinking about these things - its enough for me to try and remember to book midwife appointments though! Can't remember when I am meant to go next but sure it must be sometime soon

EustaciaVye · 01/10/2008 19:11

Indith. I recently gave DD2 a full sized duvet even though she is in a junior bed. I tuck it under so she is less likely to wriggle free.

Indith · 02/10/2008 12:55

Think a full sized duvet would be a bit much in a normal cot though! Not even a cot bed. Have tracked some not too expensive looking ones down in Dunelm which is a bit of a trek for us but there is one near my mum and she practically lives in there so I may just send her a shopping list

I'm in love with the duvet. He woke just as we went to bed last night having managed to kick it off but snuggled right back down again. Just put him down for his nap and he was screaming at me but as soon as the duvet went on he snuggled in! That thing is magic

castlesintheair · 02/10/2008 18:24

Indith, I've got a feather cot bed duvet from the white company. They are really lovely. In fact, pretty sure I have two but as I ain't having no more I'll keep one for DD2 and you are very welcome to the other. You may not want 2nd hand stuff though. Not even sure if you should for bedding

Now where is AQ? Is she too busy to update us all or something

babypowder · 02/10/2008 19:55

Ooh, Castles, if Indith doesn't have it I will! I've been searching frantically for a feather cot duvet - I can't bear sleeping under hollowfill duvets. Must be the Canuck in me.

I had to scrape my windscreen this morning! Apparently we're getting snow showers this weekend
